I'm too lazy to upload TARDIS files to Bukkit anymore, as builds are automatically created when the plugin is updated and changes pushed to GitHub.
Version specific downloads can be found here: https://tardis.pages.dev/download
Please make sure you are using the latest Spigot/Paper builds (for the Minecraft version you are running) before installing TARDIS or creating an issue!
What it does
TARDIS is a plugin that gives you the ability to create a Police Box that lets you time travel (teleport) to random locations. It adds a Whovian twist to the typical /sethome and /home commands.
As a player, you can:
- Create a TARDIS that is bigger on the inside.
- Time travel to a random location.
- Time travel back home (where you created the TARDIS initially).
- Save and list interesting time travel locations, so you can return to them easily.
- Take companions with you when you time travel.
- Make your TARDIS blend in with the Chameleon Circuit.
- Use your own schematic to build the TARDIS interior
- Grow new TARDIS rooms
- Use Artron Energy
- Remote control the TARDIS
- Custom TARDIS sounds with companion Resource Pack
- Custom TARDIS textures with companion Resource Pack

Installation
As a minimum, just drop the TARDIS.jar, TARDISChunkGenerator.jar (look under Additional Files on the download page) and any optional plugins listed below into the Bukkit plugins folder and start your server. For more detailed instructions see: https://tardis.pages.dev/installation-v5
Optional installs
These are not needed for TARDIS to function, but enhance the plugin with extra features...
- Install the TARDIS-SoundResourcePack in the Minecraft client to hear custom TARDIS sounds
- Install the TARDIS-Resource-Pack to see aal the fancy textures and models (requires TARDIS v4.2 or higher).
- Install the TARDISChunkGenerator plugin so that you can generate TARDISes in their own self-contained world (included on the TARDIS plugin download page under Additional files).
- Install WorldGuard to automatically protect your TARDIS from griefing, and stop mobs spawning in TARDIS worlds.
- Install TARDISWeepingAngels to add some Whovian mobs to the game.
- Install a Permissions plugin, so that you can restrict or grant players the rights to use TARDIS’ different features. We like PermissionsBukkit.

Bugs / Requests
Please post a ticket for TARDIS plugin requests and bugs, thank you :)
WARNING: I am no longer prepared to waste my time looking at incomplete tickets. If your ticket does not follow the guidelines set out below, it will be deleted immediately!
Make sure you have read the FAQs first, as your question may already be answered there. Also make sure you have searched for a previous ticket with the same/similar issue (use the Filters to search closed tickets).
If you are going to create a BUG ticket you need to supply relevant information (as I'm not a mind reader, nor do I have access to your server...) - as a minimum you need:
- Exact CraftBukkit version i.e. NOT 'the latest' - use the
/tardis version
command if possible, otherwise copy from server log - Exact TARDIS version i.e. NOT 'the latest' - use the
/tardis version
command if possible, otherwise copy from server log - The server log showing the entire error (as a paste or at Pastebin - NOT a screenshot) - this should be the log from when the server starts up right through to when the error occurs
- If no error in the log, then a video of the bug happening or the EXACT steps needed to reproduce the issue.
- Attach your plugins/TARDIS/config.yml file or other configuration file if relevant
- Attach your plugins/TARDIS/TARDIS.db file if relevant
- List of other plugins on server
Stats
Basic statistics are collected for some versions of the TARDIS plugin (v2.5.8 and earlier). You can opt out at any time by setting opt-out: true
in plugins/PluginMetrics/config.yml
External web access
Version 2.8 (and higher) of this plugin includes a translation feature (the /tardissay
command) that connects to the Lingva translation service.
You can prevent players from using the command by removing / not giving them the permission tardis.translate
When doing the checking for a safe place to land can you make it also check around/in-front of the door. Also something to be added as what you have did with the door but for the full Tardis is to add block replacement.
I wish i could give you cake right now this is amazing.... simply amazing.....
I'm looking forward to the ability to take a passenger with you. (Kind of essential since Bukkit is multi-player). When do you think you'll be able to implement that?
I'm curious to know what we might find if we no-clip through the interior wall or break through. Where is the interior model located? What's outside?
Would the travel distance be unlimited? Could we eventually find ourselves at the Far Lands? Perhaps like in other random teleport plugins some sort of co-ordinate boundary could be set up or just go to land already generated by Minecraft.
If anyone knows how to programmatically remove a chest and its items, please PM me :)

No, Spout is OPTIONAL as stated in the description
Really cool. I actually liked the computer generated voice better than most commentary lol. Great work and Im adding this to my possible plugin list and polls on my webpage to see if the users want this. Truly great work and an original idea in the minecraft world always impresses.
you need spout no?
@eccentricnz
Ok, I'll wait for the new version and see if it still happens. I think MicroCraft is just a Windows GUI for CraftBukkit but some incompatibility may have crept in there.
@helen269
Will see if I can test it with MicroCraft, but I'm Mac based so might not have much luck - also new version will probably be out tonight which includes better TP'ing. You were right about the texture pack, my mistake - have uploaded properly zipped file now!
I've just tried it out and I've found that the texture pack doesn't work and I die from falling damage as soon as I enter the Tardis.
I'm using MicroCraft with Bukkit build 2222, version 1.2.5-R4.0 MC version is 1.2.5
The hierarchy of the TP is Tardis-TP-01.Zip file > Tardis-tp-01 folder > Tardis folder > a terrain.png file, a logo png file, 1 txt file and an item folder containing sign.png
Is that right? Should the terrain file be zipped by itself? Is it supposed to work with that hierarchy?
@schwarherz
The plugin works fine without Spout (I don't use it myself) - there are no dependencies - and it does say Optional install :), you just won't get to hear the TARDIS sound effects.
This plugin looks amazing! (I'd get it but I have a dislike of Spout) Though may I make a suggestion? Either a redstone torch or a redstone lamp instead of the regular torch on top. Allowing for the cycling on and off as it should be ;)
@woodendinosaur
Will also add the configurable key to the next version.
And don't laugh too hard at my terrible coding!
How about making the TARDIS key a configurable item? I love this plugin. I am going to download and play around with it some this week. I also love that your source code is available to see how it works.
A new version should be out in a couple of days - multiword support is working already - as is stopping the door popping off :) Still a couple of features that need tweaking before I release though.
@Tylorbane
That's the texture pack that you downloaded; the correct server plugin is at http://dev.bukkit.org/server-mods/tardis/files/2-tardis-1-0-jar/ .
hey... i downloaded it and theres no .jar how does it work?!
@bryantkelley14
I'm hoping to do multi world support in the next update :)
I like it a lot; however, is it possible to have the Tardis interior hosted in a separate world area, like a flatgrass map with the outside in the original world? Besides that one little thing, it is a very good mod and I plan to use it on my server once multiworld support has been added. I have been waiting for something like this for so long. Thank-you for doing this.
I've had problems with the door all along - it has to have a valid block to sit on, however I didn't want the police box destroying people's builds when it re materializes, I may have to add torches to the list if blocks it is allowed to replace, or maybe keep a record of replaced blocks and put them back when the tardis leaves again
