Downloads
I'm too lazy to upload TARDIS files to Bukkit anymore, as builds are automatically created when the plugin is updated and changes pushed to GitHub.
Version specific downloads can be found here: https://tardis.pages.dev/download
Please make sure you are using the latest Spigot/Paper builds (for the Minecraft version you are running) before installing TARDIS or creating an issue!
What it does
TARDIS is a plugin that gives you the ability to create a Police Box that lets you time travel (teleport) to random locations. It adds a Whovian twist to the typical /sethome and /home commands.
As a player, you can:
- Create a TARDIS that is bigger on the inside.
- Time travel to a random location.
- Time travel back home (where you created the TARDIS initially).
- Save and list interesting time travel locations, so you can return to them easily.
- Take companions with you when you time travel.
- Make your TARDIS blend in with the Chameleon Circuit.
- Use your own schematic to build the TARDIS interior
- Grow new TARDIS rooms
- Use Artron Energy
- Remote control the TARDIS
- Custom TARDIS sounds with companion Resource Pack
- Custom TARDIS textures with companion Resource Pack

Installation
As a minimum, just drop the TARDIS.jar, TARDISChunkGenerator.jar (look under Additional Files on the download page) and any optional plugins listed below into the Bukkit plugins folder and start your server. For more detailed instructions see: https://tardis.pages.dev/installation-v5
Optional installs
These are not needed for TARDIS to function, but enhance the plugin with extra features...
- Install the TARDIS-SoundResourcePack in the Minecraft client to hear custom TARDIS sounds
- Install the TARDIS-Resource-Pack to see aal the fancy textures and models (requires TARDIS v4.2 or higher).
- Install the TARDISChunkGenerator plugin so that you can generate TARDISes in their own self-contained world (included on the TARDIS plugin download page under Additional files).
- Install WorldGuard to automatically protect your TARDIS from griefing, and stop mobs spawning in TARDIS worlds.
- Install TARDISWeepingAngels to add some Whovian mobs to the game.
- Install a Permissions plugin, so that you can restrict or grant players the rights to use TARDIS’ different features. We like PermissionsBukkit.

Bugs / Requests
Please post a ticket for TARDIS plugin requests and bugs, thank you :)
WARNING: I am no longer prepared to waste my time looking at incomplete tickets. If your ticket does not follow the guidelines set out below, it will be deleted immediately!
Make sure you have read the FAQs first, as your question may already be answered there. Also make sure you have searched for a previous ticket with the same/similar issue (use the Filters to search closed tickets).
If you are going to create a BUG ticket you need to supply relevant information (as I'm not a mind reader, nor do I have access to your server...) - as a minimum you need:
- Exact CraftBukkit version i.e. NOT 'the latest' - use the
/tardis version
command if possible, otherwise copy from server log - Exact TARDIS version i.e. NOT 'the latest' - use the
/tardis version
command if possible, otherwise copy from server log - The server log showing the entire error (as a paste or at Pastebin - NOT a screenshot) - this should be the log from when the server starts up right through to when the error occurs
- If no error in the log, then a video of the bug happening or the EXACT steps needed to reproduce the issue.
- Attach your plugins/TARDIS/config.yml file or other configuration file if relevant
- Attach your plugins/TARDIS/TARDIS.db file if relevant
- List of other plugins on server
Stats
Basic statistics are collected for some versions of the TARDIS plugin (v2.5.8 and earlier). You can opt out at any time by setting opt-out: true
in plugins/PluginMetrics/config.yml
External web access
Version 2.8 (and higher) of this plugin includes a translation feature (the /tardissay
command) that connects to the Lingva translation service.
You can prevent players from using the command by removing / not giving them the permission tardis.translate
I haven't played Minecraft or created a server with the Tardis mod in ages. So I need to get started again. What has changed and what do I have to do now?
I followed this instruction and I have the 3 files
"For 1.19.3 and higher, please download TARDIS, TARDISChunkGenerator and TARDIS Resource Packs from the TARDIS Jenkins server"
I also want to add the optional installs, but I'm pretty sure those are out dated by now, right?... so how do I go about starting a fresh new Tradis server with the optional installs?
In reply to Kaijudo:
Sorry, don't check this page very often anymore... in future you might want to jump on the TARDIS Community Discord server to ask questions, the team there are really great :)
The optional installs listed above are still valid. I only run a small private server, so I don't bother with WorldGuard anymore, and I've switched to using LuckPerms for permissions.
You don't need the sound resource pack if you already have the TARDIS-Resource-Pack as the sounds are included in that already.
How can I make TARDIS compatible with TownyChat? Seems ever since I installed it folks can't talk in their TARDISes
In reply to tuckerandrews:
Far as I know, you'll need to add TARDIS_TimeVortex to the TownyChat config file
Nope, fixed
Complex question but is TARDIS compatible with the new versions of the Terra world generation plugin which uses NMS to create custom biomes(?) instead of the spigot biome id list?
In reply to tuckerandrews:
The TARDIS plugin also uses custom biomes added via NMS for the Gallifrey and Skaro worlds, so should be compatible. Try it and see?
In reply to tuckerandrews:
Just tested, loaded a Terra pack world with TARDIS using planets.yml
generate_structures
is a new option for world loading, so you'll need the latest build of TARDIS (build 2462 or higher)In reply to eccentric_devotion:
I know it has been several months but thank you for responding to this!
For some reason if I try to paste a Tardis schematic using world edit or with the Tardis plug in it says I am no longer in the Tardis world and the occupy commands just says unoccupied
In reply to TheDetectiveYoshi:
You can't use WorldEdit to paste TARDIS schematics as they use a different (.tschm) format...
Otherwise you don't really supply enough information to solve the problem.
How can I reload the plugin from in game again? tadmin reload doesn't work anymore
In reply to tuckerandrews:
/tconfig reload
Using the newest resource pack, it seems to lag my client out an unreasonable amount. Running the plugin fine, even the sound pack is good, it's just once I activate the resource pack. I am using Optifine 1.18.2, and the plugins are up to date. Is there a setting I might need to change to fix this, or is there a way to change the Tardis back to it's old Block form? I'd hate to be stuck with a blue dye on the floor as my Tardis haha
In reply to Sou1Creeper:
Just use the Chameleon circuit in the Control Centre GUI to switch back to a block TARDIS
In reply to eccentric_devotion:
My bad for not reading that all the way through, that seems to make the Tardis' blocks invisible! But I've made the old block based Tardis in the custom preset so that works. Thank you!
How do I desiege a player's TARDIS?
In reply to tuckerandrews:
/tardissudo desiege [player]
Hello, when I try and add in the 1.16.5 version of the plugin the server doesn't register it. I don't know if I should or shouldn't unzip it.
In reply to timeturner93:
Needs to unzipped.
Should contain 2 JAR files - TARDIS & TARDISChunkGenerator - you need both.
