About MV2
Multiverse was created at the dawn of Bukkit multiworld support. It has since then grown into a complete world management solution including special treatment of your nether worlds with [NetherPortals](http://dev.bukkit.org/server-mods/multiverse-netherportals/).
In the second delivery of Multiverse, we've broken it up into several smaller plugins that are each feature packed but *not bloated*! Multiverse provides the easiest to use world management solution for your Minecraft server, big or small, and with great addons like Portals and NetherPortals, what's not to love!
Multiverse is back! Is your server, a Multiverse?
Multiverse-SignPortals Features
- Slap a sign on a standard Nether Portal and it goes where the sign says!
- Place a sign anywhere else and users can right click to go to the destination!
So long Awesome Builds
We use to have this notion of an "Awesome Build" or AB which was suppose to be thought of like Bukkit's Recommended Build system. Awesome Builds were ones that we put extra testing into and were meant to be very stable. Unfortunately there will be no more Awesome Builds. Our development team doesn't have the time to devote to the project that we use to. As such, we've moved to a new build system which you'll notice in the new version numbering. Our release builds here should be stable; Lots of people have had time to vet them for us while they were only development builds. While we don't have much time to work on the project, we do still take critical bugs very seriously and try to get them fixed as quickly as possible.
Hello there,
I have a question...
I am wondering if its possible that in Multiverse, you have your world... but you have a portal to another world. In this other world only one person is allowed in that world instance, but many people can be connected to the same world, in a difference instance.
The reason being, I have a personal server, just for myself and family. I wanted to build a room called "The Challenge Room" for example. And you walk in there and there are portals with signs around them, telling the user what kind of challenge world the portal would take them to.
When they want to do a challenge, they walk into the portal and be transported to this other world.
Then I would like them to do the challenge. Once they complete the challenge, they go through the portal back to the original world... but if they go back in the portal again, the world was reset back to it's original state.
Remember only 1 person is allowed in their own individual instance in this challenge world, so lots of people can use the same world at the same time, but they would only see themselves and noone else. (unless you can specify how many people are allowed in an instance)
Is this possible at the moment?
If not maybe in the future you could make it possible?
Hey,
When I place a sign on a portal, then walk into the portal, it swirls endlessly. When I get out to see if the sign turned blue, it has. I made completely sure that the world was fully registered with Multiverse, I had latest builds of Core and SignPortals, and that spelling and case was correct. Any thoughts?
When i create a sign to a world that is survival, from a world that is creative, it doesnt switch game mode:(
Edit: Can see this was already reported on the bugtracker and fixed, but i still have it:/
@fernferret
i was using 275 as you specified in your last post..all it changed was that the error no longer appeared in my console. ill try again from scratch (re-download/new configs etc)...
edit - tried a fresh download of bukkit (both 1185 and 1221) and also redownloaded core275 and signportals 122. still not teleporting me when i go into portal. the sign works on its own when its green.
@undeadmach1ne
From the release notes: "Fix: Signs on Portals NOTE: Make sure to use Multiverse-Core 2.0-b275+ as part of the bugfixes were in there!"
@fernferret
still nothing. no errors in the log any more though. same thing, sign works at first as a teleport sign (right click, green text). i light the portal and jump in and it just swirls forever. the sign text turns blue etc...just not sending me to the world on the sign (which i just double checked to be sure, appears on /mvlist and /mvinfo). what is the exact procedure you use when you make a sign portal? does the order you place the sign or light the portal make a difference (like place sign first, then light, or place sign on already lit portal)? im pretty sure i have tried everything (sign first, light first, 10 block and 14 block portal structures, tried [mv] and [multiverse] on the sign)...dunno what else to try.
@undeadmach1ne
Try version 275! I think I've fixed a ton of issues in it.

@fernferret
so i am finally getting around to trying this out and i get an NPE when i try to go through the portal. the sign works fine. it turns green after i make it and teleports me to destination on right click...but when i try to enter the portal its attached to i get the following stacktrace after a few seconds of swirling purple and i am not teleported. the sign text turns blue (and it wont teleport me when i right click it). i have tried lighting the portal both before and after attaching the sign to it, both have the same effect. i am on 1185, 1.8.2 and i just downloaded the awesomebuilds of mv2 and signportals right before i ran the tests. i dunno if its something on my end or what so im posting here for now...let me know if i should make a ticket on github or something more official.
@fernferret
thanks fernferret <3
@Folas1337
Sorry, I've been a huge slacker (and kinda crazy busy with Core, Portals and NetherPortals). Here is the wiki for ya!

@undeadmach1ne
DOH!
Fixing for official re-release. (later tonight)
@Folas1337
in 1.7.2 you build the portal (standard nether portal), attach the sign and then light it with the flint&steel...then the portal becomes active with destination specified on the sign.
does it not work like that in mv2?
So there is no description yet about how to use this? I only figures out that you can use signs with rightclick if you write 1st line: "[mv]" 2nd line: [destination]
But how to make a portal take you to a world?! Didn't get it :D
I see you're having it on your todo-list, but how long would it take to write about 100 words like 1st line: 2nd line etc?!
However, you'll do it soon I hope... See ya then, Folas.
