What is MineQuest?
MineQuest is a customizable roleplaying plugin. It contains fully customizable abilities, classes, and quests. You can gain experience and level up to increase your abilities and use addons to MineQuest to create your custom experience. And best of all, MineQuest comes with instanced dungeons support built right into its Core. Oh, and Javascript support.

Quests:
Quests can range from simple gather missions, where the players must gather an amount of a resource, to massive dungeons and giant boss fights. This allows players to design and share their Quests with the masses. With help of our quest design helper, players can design Quests to create whatever they want.
Parties:
MineQuest also contains a party system. Any quester can create a party at any time, but they are only really used for entering Quests. When a quest is started MineQuest will attempt to bring an entire players party with them. A quester can create a party with the following command.

do you plan to integrate spout?
Just one tiny little thing. Would it be possible to stop fire from spells spreading? Or maybe stay for x many seconds? This is an excellent plugin and will be great for my RP server though, thanks!
Edit: I also can't punch mobs, can I re-add that?

Try using look bind. It casts where you are aiming. /Bind has been having some problems which we are already working on.
Hello. When I throw fireball bound to snowball it doesn't work. Only left click on ground. How can I fix it?

Sorry I missed you on the Irc. To answer your question, yes, of course. Abilities are optional. Just go through the class configs and delete all the spells. That will remove them from the server.

I wish to use this plugin for making quests, without the classes and others possibilities, just quests with NPC and area trigger, is it possible to disable all the unwanted features ?

Though completely unrelated to your specific problem, Essentials has been causing conflicts with MineQuest for a very long time. You will find that there are some issues with the combat system when using MQ & Essentials.
Also unrelated to your issue, but somehow relevant: when creating NPC's within a WorldGuard region, you must have pvp enabled within the region for the NPC's to function properly, because WorldGuard treats NPC's as players, and thinks that you are attacking them, rather than interacting with the NPC.

This is the normal way minequest will start until it is fully functional. There is a new version of the abilities jar that you can get from here: http://dev.bukkit.org/server-mods/minequest/files/8-ability-jar/
Since we are trying to figure this out, I am also getting this when the server starts:

So it looks like Anitol (my NPC) is being made a player with a last location by Essentials. He is listed as an NPC in his player file though. I tried removing essentials all together, but that does not seem to be the problem. I also looked through the config for essentials and i don't see anywhere that i can make NPC's "login" automatically.
Hey thanks for the reply. I am creating the NPC with /spawnnpc giving him a walk message, a radius, and a quest property. He stays loaded as long as the server is running, but does not give out his quest. Which may totally be a problem with the quest file itself. I am re-following the video for that. Whenever I restart the server for one reason or another he disappears and needs to be spawned using /spawnnpc again. when i do this his properties are in tact. But he is not giving out his quest. Like I said I think it is a problem with the file. I will try a simpler quest file to see if it is actually working or not. Like the one in you vid.
I dropped the worldguard region on my town and used the town function in MineQuest, not sure if this matters (I would rather use worldguard if possible but i think there is a conflict with the mob-spawning flag).

There are currently some problems with the creation of npcs. I am not sure what you mean by creating a npc with a quest. Do you mean the quest creates the npc or did you use the /spawnnpc command? I am currently working on the npcs to make them refresh without the server having to restart. If you could tell me weather the quest is creating the npc or the npc was spawned using the command that would help a lot.

Hello. Hope the holidays were good. I have a question. I am trying to make an NPC with a quest. I followed the two videos that you posted earlier. Pretty sure i followed them right. The NPC info wrote to the database, but when i restart the server he is gone. I am using the newest version of this .8 and r2 of craftbukkkit. I am also using Spout. The rest of the plugin seems to be functioning just fine, except for this aspect. Any help would be appreciated.

EDIT: Just fyi, i thought maybe it was my worldguard region, but I took the mob_spawning flag off and still no dice. then I thought maybe it was MyWorlds having the difficulty set to peaceful, so I changed that and stiill no dice. Is there a known conflict?
Edit 2: I removed the worldguard region all together and set up a town. still no luck getting the NPC to spawn when I start the server.

Did you mean forums? We had one and we are working getting it back up. May be a while before it goes back up. I did some videos about a year ago for quest making too. You may want to check those out.
