What is MineQuest?
MineQuest is a customizable roleplaying plugin. It contains fully customizable abilities, classes, and quests. You can gain experience and level up to increase your abilities and use addons to MineQuest to create your custom experience. And best of all, MineQuest comes with instanced dungeons support built right into its Core. Oh, and Javascript support.

Quests:
Quests can range from simple gather missions, where the players must gather an amount of a resource, to massive dungeons and giant boss fights. This allows players to design and share their Quests with the masses. With help of our quest design helper, players can design Quests to create whatever they want.
Parties:
MineQuest also contains a party system. Any quester can create a party at any time, but they are only really used for entering Quests. When a quest is started MineQuest will attempt to bring an entire players party with them. A quester can create a party with the following command.

@squeezer2k
The alpha hasn't even been released yet. We'll be releasing that (hopefully) this weekend.
@robxu9
is the beta stable enough for production server? and where do i get the beta?
@squeezer2k
With MineQuest-1 well under development, yes. (Alpha probably won't contain any reward features; but beta should.)
hi,
one little question: Can MineQuest reward players with permissions?
Regards
Just wanted to post a quick update. http://www.theminequest.com is back up. MineQuest itself is currently undergoing a rewrite by some new coders.
@rasnyderiii
We haven't produced a 1.1-r3 build yet. Though you can expect the next version to support it.
Does this work with 1.1-R3 before I even bother attempting to play with it? Looks very promising though! Reading about this being a beast – consider a modular approach – Quests / Dungeon / Classes – since many people would only use one aspect, some a few others all. Cheers! Mish
@DagumBoss
as of the moment we are using our own code for npcs. however, they are not working correctly in the current version.
this plugin is somewhat heavy weight, as it controls a lot of aspect of your game. You will find that with a low-end server (4gb of ram or less), you may experience some issues when having multiple users running quests operating in each their own instances. Also, having too many npcs (not really a problem until the npc count is in the 50's) seems to have issues with low-end servers.
Edit: These approximations are based on my own testing over the course of nearly a year of using this plugin. I had a 4GB vps for a good 6 months of testing/playing with this plugin. I now no longer have a 'low-end' server available to me for testing, and I highly doubt that my new server will ever experience performance related issues from minecraft. If you would like to post your own experiences and the hardware on your server that would be appreciated.
A lot of these issues on low-end servers can be remedied by using a separate MySQL server from the machine you are running your server on. H2 SQLite, though an option, is the least efficient method of running MineQuest, performance-wise.
What kind of NPCs are you using? I like Citizens, but I've heard their methods of creating NPCs isn't the most efficient.
Also, can anyone comment on the performance of this plugin? Is it heavy-weight? Is it messy? Etc
@KoBro12
We are working on getting it back to working condition. I promise you that it won't die. :)
I thought this plugin died a long time ago, due to website going down, and the bukkit.com page never got updated. Its good to see it is not dead. :D
@Bro269
Place minequest.jar in your bukkit/plugins directory. This is the installation process used for any plugins used w/ bukkit.
On first launch of Bukkit, minequest will automatically create a folder in your bukkit directory called /MineQuest
This is where the abilities.jar and the two .properties files will need to be placed.
When you write your quest files, these go in the main bukkit directory.
Edit: Also as far as sql is concerned, minequest will automatically download and use sqlite unless configured to use something else.
Hello MineQuest Developers,
i am setting up a server for me and whoever else wants to play, and i want to use your mod. i am new to bukkit, so im unfamiliar with putting in a ticket or going on espernet, so i figured i would reach yall here. i have downloaded the files from google that you posted in the instalation guide, but i noticed that there is no instruction on how to actually instal Minequest in its whole. do you just put the 4 files into the plugins folder for the CraftBukkit server? or do you make a different folder to put the abilities and classes in? also, i am running CraftBukkit build 1714 (but will update to newest build soon), i am not running MYSQL or SQLite, and i am running java6 on my server computer. please, respond as soon as you can, and thankyou for such an amazing mod. can't wait to try it out. :)
Your Fellow Gamer, Bro269

We are working on getting our site back up. I will work on getting more information on the command list.
Is there any wiki ? The commandlist don't show the attributes. Can we have a real commandlist ?
Love this plugin, but without any information exept videos, we can't use it...
@Finlet
Being unable to punch mobs is a known bug, and we are working on a fix.
I'm not sure if we can isolate fire spread to just our spells, but I have used minequest in tandem w/ other plugins that control fire spread and it has worked very effectively.
@Xevets
Xevets I would be happy to help you w/ your configuration in the meantime. If you open a ticket I will respond when I can, and is probably the best way to get the support you are looking for. Also, you can find help in our irc channel at esper.net #minequest though the channel has not been too active lately, as most of our staff is busy mondays through fridays.
@Xevets
We are working on getting the site back up. It might take a while though.
@squeezer2k
Yes but we are still working on getting all the bugs out.
Is there a copy of the documentation that was previously on theminequest.com? I'm having trouble getting the plugin configured.
