EchoPet
Important information on this project in light of recent events.
Quote from DSH105:The forums have now been enabled and can be accessed via the navigation bar. More importantly, I'm interested in your input towards the new pet attacking AI to be implemented in EchoPet v3.
If EchoPet is not loading on your Spigot 1.8 build and your server is outputting "Skipping loading of EchoPet as it does not work with Spigot 1.8 builds!", please try running a later Spigot patch. I can't do anything about older Spigot releases blacklisting the plugin (preventing it from loading).
The future of this plugin is still being determined.
Development builds of this project can be acquired at the provided continuous integration server. These builds have not been approved by the BukkitDev staff. Use them at your own risk.
EchoPet is a simple Donator Perk plugin designed to add Pets that follow players around on their adventures throughout Minecraft. All Pets are custom entities spawned and controlled by the plugin.
Great for donator perks!
Pets are greatly customisable, through the extensive Command Base and PetMenu
A Custom AI makes all Pets focused on specific goals, handled closely by the core of the Plugin
All mobs can be Pets, even human entities
All events fired by the plugin are accessible through the EchoPet Developer API
The API also makes it possible to add many new and interesting features to the limit of creativity
Support for MySQL databases |
Note: The Developer API is only available in v2.0.6 and after
All information can be found on the official EchoPet Wiki, which can be accessed using the button above
EchoPet comes with an auto-updater to save you, as a server owner, from continually checking this page for new files. It simply connects to dev.bukkit.org and compares the versions of available files. If you do not wish for EchoPet to perform this check, navigate to the Configuration File (config.yml) in the EchoPet directory of your plugins folder and change "checkForUpdates" and "autoUpdate" to "false". The first value disables the version comparison altogether and the second updates the plugin automatically if new files are detected.
Metrics is used to collect plugin statistics. Only data such as plugin version and players online is collected. If you do not wish for this data to be collected, disable it in the 'Plugin Metrics' folder of your 'plugins' directory.

For everyone's information, the plugin needed to be rewritten in order to correctly address this issue. EchoPet 2 will hopefully combat it completely. I am currently researching multi-world transportation, whether it uses Multiverse or not, as Nether Portals and End Portals produce the same error. If your players switch between worlds, I discourage use of EchoPet until 2.0 is released.
@DSH105
Don't give up on this! I personally LOVE this plugin! Most other pet plugins make pets attack, and you can't even rename them!
Is there a way to make your pet not follow you and just stand a certain spot?
God, whats everyone complaining about Multiworlds? He is trying to fix it, if your players can switch between worlds, just dont use the plugin till then.
And DSH105, amazing plugin. Please don't give up on this project, i love this.
You should add into config that would can determine how many characters name can be long...
You should make it so that you can buy pets with signs or something!
@LoneWolfGaming
Use BuyCraft
@DSH105
Please don't give up on it. I suggest ignoring the complainers. I respect you as a really good plugin developer and your plugin is truly one of a kind.
Is it possible for you to make it cost money to buy a pet, or is it already a feature?
@DSH105
dont worry about it, like i sayed its probebly a multiverse bug. i have other issues becouse off multiverse so...
@ALL PLAYERS SPAMMING!
DSH and I know there is an error and that it needs to be fixed, but DSH is trying! *TRYING* Please do not keep spamming this thread with "awww my pet dosent go through portals" because we KNOW that! Please, just give DSH a break.
Thanks, realiez
@faesorama
I am just about ready to give up on this project...
WARNING: this plugin may corrupt your multi worlds!!! i use multiverse and it started giving errors > http://pastie.org/7715569 < removed the plugin and my server didnt start anymore try'd it a few time's, nothing. the error's are still there, i installed the backup from echopets and suddenly it works again? also when this problem is occurring or poeple using /pet in multiverse, cpu burns out 50%, 6gb ram. just that you know try avoiding poeple the use of echopets in multiple worlds im pritty sure it has also something todo with the outdated multiverse thats stills being used
@MinecraftAdmin
It is already known that pets cannot change worlds. Read my last post.
@DSH105
Well, good thing you're aware of this issue. I wish you best of luck to fix this. Keep up the brilliant work!
Just a minor issue
The pets don't go across worlds for my players :(
well it most definetly has happened. its a pain because if staff gets a pet wither then it turns hostile it sometimes kills players.
@fungreenfox
EchoPet does not store them in any file. They are stored in Minecraft files. It is simply that they get misplaced after entering some sort of portal or the player changes worlds. I am still working on a fix for it. If you have any idea how to, please speak up now. I can't stress this enough: I...am...trying. It would be super helpful if you actual found out where they are getting misplaced and if it is in fact a portal

This list goes on for a minute, total spam!
In which file are the entities stored??
@hunajameloni
Nope. Not with this plugin, sorry :)
