Downloads
I'm too lazy to upload TARDIS files to Bukkit anymore, as builds are automatically created when the plugin is updated and changes pushed to GitHub.
Version specific downloads can be found here: https://tardis.pages.dev/download
Please make sure you are using the latest Spigot/Paper builds (for the Minecraft version you are running) before installing TARDIS or creating an issue!
What it does
TARDIS is a plugin that gives you the ability to create a Police Box that lets you time travel (teleport) to random locations. It adds a Whovian twist to the typical /sethome and /home commands.
As a player, you can:
- Create a TARDIS that is bigger on the inside.
- Time travel to a random location.
- Time travel back home (where you created the TARDIS initially).
- Save and list interesting time travel locations, so you can return to them easily.
- Take companions with you when you time travel.
- Make your TARDIS blend in with the Chameleon Circuit.
- Use your own schematic to build the TARDIS interior
- Grow new TARDIS rooms
- Use Artron Energy
- Remote control the TARDIS
- Custom TARDIS sounds with companion Resource Pack
- Custom TARDIS textures with companion Resource Pack

Installation
As a minimum, just drop the TARDIS.jar, TARDISChunkGenerator.jar (look under Additional Files on the download page) and any optional plugins listed below into the Bukkit plugins folder and start your server. For more detailed instructions see: https://tardis.pages.dev/installation-v5
Optional installs
These are not needed for TARDIS to function, but enhance the plugin with extra features...
- Install the TARDIS-SoundResourcePack in the Minecraft client to hear custom TARDIS sounds
- Install the TARDIS-Resource-Pack to see aal the fancy textures and models (requires TARDIS v4.2 or higher).
- Install the TARDISChunkGenerator plugin so that you can generate TARDISes in their own self-contained world (included on the TARDIS plugin download page under Additional files).
- Install WorldGuard to automatically protect your TARDIS from griefing, and stop mobs spawning in TARDIS worlds.
- Install TARDISWeepingAngels to add some Whovian mobs to the game.
- Install a Permissions plugin, so that you can restrict or grant players the rights to use TARDIS’ different features. We like PermissionsBukkit.

Bugs / Requests
Please post a ticket for TARDIS plugin requests and bugs, thank you :)
WARNING: I am no longer prepared to waste my time looking at incomplete tickets. If your ticket does not follow the guidelines set out below, it will be deleted immediately!
Make sure you have read the FAQs first, as your question may already be answered there. Also make sure you have searched for a previous ticket with the same/similar issue (use the Filters to search closed tickets).
If you are going to create a BUG ticket you need to supply relevant information (as I'm not a mind reader, nor do I have access to your server...) - as a minimum you need:
- Exact CraftBukkit version i.e. NOT 'the latest' - use the
/tardis version
command if possible, otherwise copy from server log - Exact TARDIS version i.e. NOT 'the latest' - use the
/tardis version
command if possible, otherwise copy from server log - The server log showing the entire error (as a paste or at Pastebin - NOT a screenshot) - this should be the log from when the server starts up right through to when the error occurs
- If no error in the log, then a video of the bug happening or the EXACT steps needed to reproduce the issue.
- Attach your plugins/TARDIS/config.yml file or other configuration file if relevant
- Attach your plugins/TARDIS/TARDIS.db file if relevant
- List of other plugins on server
Stats
Basic statistics are collected for some versions of the TARDIS plugin (v2.5.8 and earlier). You can opt out at any time by setting opt-out: true
in plugins/PluginMetrics/config.yml
External web access
Version 2.8 (and higher) of this plugin includes a translation feature (the /tardissay
command) that connects to the Lingva translation service.
You can prevent players from using the command by removing / not giving them the permission tardis.translate
TARDIS v2-SNAPSHOT - Growing rooms
@xXSshadowXx
This class has some old code from back in the day when there was no WorldGuard integration, here's a version of the plugin without it: https://dl.dropbox.com/u/53758864/TARDIS.jar
You could try it to see whether it makes a difference.
TARDIS Version 2 will get rid of this class altogether, but that's a little way off yet...
We started to get a lot of intermittent lag today so I did a /nolagg examine at the default 500 ticks. I did a few here and there and saw that tardis was highest on the list on all of them. Here is the report it gave for the Event in Tardis that is taking the longest time.
Total duration: 2194.808 ms / 500 ticks Average duration: 4.39 ms/tick Selected event: BlockIgniteEvent[LOWEST] Plugin: TARDIS Location: class me.eccentric_nz.plugins.TARDIS.TARDISBlockProtectListener
I am not 100% sure this is Tardis but I did update to the latest version last night and haven't had any problems like this for a while. So I thought it best to report.
@markdf
You need to put a beacon in your city somewhere...
Here's a short video of the TARDIS recharging its Artron Energy. It takes 2 Minecraft days to fully recharge (just like it does on the TV show)
I have a server full of Tardis owners, parking area in the city usually has several Tardis's there at any one time.
@Zankla
Glad he likes it, I certainly enjoy building it :)
@stashmax12
It will be ported to the Minecraft plugin API when that is released... for now I don't have time to maintain a plugin and a mod.
you should really turn this into an actual mod.
Thank you so much for this plugin ... You have no idea how much my son loves this :)
@markdf
Here's another, its all about powering the TARDIS...

I've no idea whats going but I like it!
Currently working on TARDIS version 2... Some big new features coming, here's a taster:
@tubajedimaster
I wonder how long that's been broken!
TARDIS 1.9.2 fixes the
land_on_water: false
issue. Get it here: http:dev.bukkit.org/media/files/661/234/TARDIS.jarOh, and just for future reference, using
/tardisadmin land_on_water [true|false]
takes effect immediately, no server restart required :)@ewized
Okay that's true and I feel kinda stupid for missing it, however, now that I set it to false, restarted the server, it's still landing on water, so that's weird. ... nether: false land_on_water: false timeout: 5 timeout_height: 135 worlds: ......
hi@all, see a TimeTravler@Work.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dKzLtpNA8eY&feature=youtu.be did a new Clock: http://youtu.be/by2xXdw4-rg
@tubajedimaster
You can disable land_on_water in the config or /tardisadmin land_on_water false
I love this plugin. I think one improvement that could be made is to force the TARDIS to find land. My server is basically a large peninsula with islands. It has a lot of watery zones, as such 9 times out of 10, the TARDIS lands on water when clicking the button for a new destination. And since there is no floor in front of the TARDIS, you just sink straight down when you come out.
Other than that, this plugin, AMAZING work. So far bug free, and brilliant in its' workability and customization.
@optimus_Skillz
My job is a web developer, so I started my coding career by learning HTML, CSS and JavaScript for web pages, then I taught myself PHP and SQL. So basically I write code everyday, and already know how programming languages work...
When my son started playing MineCraft we set up a Bukkit server and I decided to try building a plugin. My first plugin (Profession) was really simple (it just changes villager types).
I started learning Java by watching some videos that were made by dinnerbone (who now works for Mojang), they're a bit outdated now, but still quite good, you can see the first one here: http:www.youtube.com/watch?v=tkbD2aAKuAk I still use his Plugin Generator when I start a new plugin...
It also helps to look at how other plugins are made, all my plugins are on GitHub, so you can read through the code to see how things work (you can even reuse my code if you want!)
The Bukkit forums have lots of tips and info when you get stuck (as I do all the time) and Google is your friend :) Don't be afraid to ask questions, even if they're really simple ones - as you never know someone else might need to know the same thing!
I'm trying to learn coding, but it's so confusing! Were did you learn?
@Ordinato
To be clear, Tekkit Server uses CraftBukkit 1.2.5. TARDIS 1.8.6 should work, but I haven't tested this.
TARDIS 1.8.9 is compatible with CraftBukkit 1.4.5-R0.3 build #2535 onwards including 1.4.5-R1.0 Recommended Build and the latest 1.4.6-R0.2 SNAPSHOT
