I am testing this new page out. I am aware of some parts that are missing such as ship types, but please say if there is anything that you wish to see. I plan on making a FAQ's that includes common questions such as how to change ship requirements.

Ships 6 changes
Ships has gone through many changes, Ships 6 is the latest rewrite of the plugin. The latest rewrite fixes multiple bugs found in the root of previous versions of Ships.
Features
Moving ships
As the name of the plugin suggests, you can create your own ship and move it with just a single click.
Works with all blocks
There is a fully-fledged list where you can configure every block to react differently for the ships, including being able to add a block type to interact with Ships, detect it as a collide, and even not react at all.
Teleport to ships
There have been many requests to be able to teleport to ships for not only this plugin but others like it. This feature has been added to Ships, however, if it is something you do not wish, then you can disable to command by not adding the command.
Falling Ships
Ships will fall/sink if requirements are not met, this could be done through your own interaction such as running out of fuel, or by something else such as a TNT explosion.

In Ships, movement is done by signs. You can see all signs here
Collide types:
Name | ID | Description |

Detect collide | DETECT_COLLIDE | If Ships detects this block in the way of a ship moving then the ship will not move with the error of this block being in the way |
Material | MATERIAL | Material means that you can build a ship out of this block and the Ships block detection system will detect it as part of your ship |
Ignore | IGNORE | If Ships detects this block in the way of a ship moving then the block will break and the ship will take its place |

wait what? Qx2 wants to support that plugin, not add his own type. the problem is the items fall out the dispensers when ever the ship moves.
how is that not happening with yours?

im not sure how you would fix this, unless making the checking of movement detect whether or not it will add blocks to it, im guessing thats hard to code, and you would need a powerful server to check it.
it would need to check if its not going to crash (doing already) then check +1 on x, then check -1 on x and +1 on y. keep doing this until it detect every block that may clip onto the ship for every block already on the ship.
the simple way to fix this is have it so you only have ships made out of ... planks and wool then tell all your server friends that ships can clip onto planks and wool, do not leave them exposed.
this will work in this big update i have talked about (for the 4th time now, 2nd time this week) where you maybe able to change what the ships are supported with
An amazing plugin at its core, I've used many vehicle plugins like this and none come even close to the great performance of this one. 5k block vehicles and no lag is just incredible.
Unfortunately it is useless on our Factions server since the plugin has serious security problems. Not only does are vehicles able to merge with other blocks which allows you to essentially grief any building that has blocks allowed on ships, but once merged with the ship the merged blocks can actually move through 1-block thick non-ship allowed blocks like stone (2-thick are enough to stop this). Until these problems are fixed, DivinityCraft can't use the plugin, but once they are fixed we won't hesitate a second to install it.
Since this plugin is like never updating, use this plugin since it works fine with Ships for Cannons. http://dev.bukkit.org/bukkit-plugins/cannons/ You can use them on your Airship/Ship and it works fine, I have it on my server. No point in waiting for this plugin to add cannons when you can just use that 1 which has tons of features lol :D

All I've been using was wood and wool to test this.
After following your advice, I can only conclude that my forbidden blocks are the signs that I need to create the ship lol
I CAN get a ship (FYI: I'm using ship ships, not airships or anything.) to move through water if I build the base through water instead of on top as I expected I'd need to, and it will move, but it destroys every water block it passes over... And I STILL can't get the wheel to respond.

Can you add an option in config to disable blocks that get added to the ship becoming part of the ship? the server i play on would have used this plugin if it wasnt possible to greif protected land with it by sailing up to the thing you wanted to greif attaching your ship / airship and sailing off with it

it could be a unsupported block on your ship that does not move when you turn right, therefor it will not turn left, or move forwards, and in some cases move up or down.
the item id for all the supported blocks are shown above you can use essentials (plugin), TooManyItems (mod) to determine witch block it is
command for essentials is /itemdb (need to have block in hand)

in the near future, sorry thats the best i can do, i dont work on coding the plugin, i just help with the people side, because well... i have seen how this plugin works, i have seen many bugs and fixed them, so thats why

I've tried that, it does not function that way for me. It only worked for me with a right click. But then again I'm one of the chosen ones. I can run bare bones only a single plugin to test it, and I'll be one of the 3 people out of the worlds 7 billion whom it won't work for lol. Can't turn left, also cannot move forward because it thinks I have an obstruction. I just have the blessing I guess. *shrugs*

a lot have wanted this major update, some have waited months, that will include
- fixs all item carring bugs
- add the subs
- fixed the doors/ gates (for some people, i dont care about it)
- adds the cannon support (technically the carrying bug)
- cleaned the config from stuff that was there from 2.0 and then outdated
- made the blocks configurable
my theory's suggest this will mostly come in ships 4.0 some will come before, and some after just stating the obvious :)
Ok, I hope that he will add it soon.

its listed in the things to do, all he needs to do is allow items in dispensers then cannons are good to go

Is there anywhere I can go to view old bugs and fixes? I seem to have my wheel working again (through permissions), but I can't move anything because "Obstacle on course". I've used only oak wood and wool to make a small ship. (A suggestion, if I may, allowing ships to rotate left or right instead of only turning right by 90. Perhaps two wheels, one for each direction?)

how would they work? bukkit plugins only work on in coded stuff from minecraft
if you would like i would suggest create a world put a command block connected to a repeating redstone add the command /time set 13000 to the command block remove most of the world
you have a space world.
then add airships/ marsships as normal

this means he probably is working on such a thing, but like every other thing in the to do pile, he needs to code it.
(response from dispenser glich) "I do not remember if I added dispensers, if not then I will add in the near future. This is not complicated."
so again he is working on such things
coding takes time, let him have it
