Looking for Dev builds?
Dev builds give off new features and bug fixes before they are officially released, however these features and bug fixes may not have been tested as much as a release on here
Old page:
I am testing this new page out. I am aware of some parts that are missing such as ship types, but please say if there is anything that you wish to see. I plan on making a FAQ's that includes common questions such as how to change ship requirements.
If you want to see the old page, it is here

Ships 6 changes
Ships has gone through many changes, Ships 6 is the latest rewrite of the plugin. The latest rewrite fixes multiple bugs found in the root of previous versions of Ships.
Features
Moving ships
As the name of the plugin suggests, you can create your own ship and move it with just a single click.
Works with all blocks
There is a fully-fledged list where you can configure every block to react differently for the ships, including being able to add a block type to interact with Ships, detect it as a collide, and even not react at all.
Teleport to ships
There have been many requests to be able to teleport to ships for not only this plugin but others like it. This feature has been added to Ships, however, if it is something you do not wish, then you can disable to command by not adding the command.
Falling Ships
Ships will fall/sink if requirements are not met, this could be done through your own interaction such as running out of fuel, or by something else such as a TNT explosion.

In reply to mosemister:
Ahh ok makes sense. I think I might be able to get the large ship working. The medium one works flawlessly. I think that the server just can't handle moving the large ship, because the server gets overloaded and crashes every time, even though I got the plugin to log all the blocks correctly

Modern day ships requires Java 16 or newer, sadly we don't support Java 8 anymore
when i try to run the ships plugin it says this (used on aternos)

Not yet tested it on 1.18.2. It seems paper has dropped support for something which caused this issue. Ill take a look when i get a chance
hi, when i try to move my ship, it says these blocks are in the way even though in a smaller ship it can move it, is the a way to make it be able to move.
In reply to idkwutmahname:
The message will state "includes". Are those block types part of your ship? Or are they blocks that are actually in the way?
In reply to mosemister:
the blocks are apart of the ship
In reply to idkwutmahname:
I would check if the block types have been set to "Material" in the block list.
You can check this using the
/ships blocklist view collidetype <block type>
Command. Please use command suggestions to help you, im doing it from memory
In reply to mosemister:
i did that and i said it is a material block
In reply to idkwutmahname:
If you right click the [ships] sign, what does the size say?
In reply to mosemister:
it says the ship size is 4764
In reply to mosemister:
before i added the interior, my ship could move fine(apart from a few blocks not moving)
In reply to mosemister:
the size is 4764
In reply to idkwutmahname:
So your ship is actually large. So much so that by default, ships will start to give up on tracking the blocks of the ship after 4000.
You can change this in the config file (or by config command) by changing the "Advanced.Block.Track" value.
The command for config value changes is
/ships config set config advanced.block.track 5000
Hope that helps
Hey, I remember that when I was sailing a boat some time ago, it started to sink by itself. It was just randomly teleporting block by block untill it hit the seabed. Now since this is a long time ago, and I don't know whether it's been fixed or whether it's an actual feature, I'll ask this: Is it an actual plug-in feature that a boat can sink or was it just a random glitch?
Cheers, Thijs.
In reply to thijzzyaboii:
It was a feature, back a while ago it was enabled by default, however too many people reported it as a bug, so its now disabled by default
Some guy wrote: "Whenever I log off it sends me back to my boat, can I toggle this off?".
I have the same problem.
And i have other error: when i RMB on move sign for speed, in chat: "Ships sign is already moving ship!". Speed getting up, but too slow with this messages. In flags i have ships:is.moving. When i just download plugin, all was fine.
sry for bad english.
In reply to amaroldarkness:
Sorry thought I fixed that bug in beta 14. Ill take another look.
As for Ship is already moving, this has been in the list of bugs I have wanted to fix for a while but sadly I cant replicate it.
You get the flag of isMoving right away, however the value is false.
Both those bugs are ones I havent been able to replicate so I need more info on both, such as
- when the player started the joining bug, how did they leave before? Kicked? Quit? Disconnected due to error?
- when you started the ship is already moving, did you do a failed move before hand, if so what was the message?
For both these issues there are work arounds. The player spawning back at the ship, destroy the ships sign and replace it (is the easiest way)
As for ship is already moving, try the command
/ships ship <id> unlock
Whenever I log off it sends me back to my boat, can I toggle this off?
