Residence is different from most protection plugins in that it aims for the users to be able to protect their own homes without having to bother the admin to do it. Residence has support for a variety of different protection types including preventing movement through areas, all of which can be configured by the land owner, and limited by the admin.

As far as I know there is no really official documentation of how Residence works and what you can do with it and its features. I have the link to the 'old' documentation which is maybe outdated but helpful.
There are only two basic permissions
You can define what each group can do in the config file.
My apologies if this is a moron question, but are there any docs telling me how to use Residence (e.g. what are the commands and what do they do, how do areas work, etc)? I see lots of instructions on bug requests, but no links to anything resembling a howto/manual/usage guide/whatever. Can someone point me in the right direction?
If possible I would love to see an sql add-on to residence. Our server, spacerepublic.net, is built so people can buy a property when they first join the server. When this happens they get the citizen rank. This rank is usually have to be either handed to the player or they use a command item that exist in a mail chest that each new property has.
I think SQL could make it easier to find which properties are server owned vs player owned. Also can give an idea where the player's residence is on the map, and could possibly be linked with other database plugins to see how long its been since that player has been offline, so I can easily change it back to a server owned residence.
With this I may also be able to make web-links to find the player's property on the player's profile page. I think SQL is a great database to hold information and is alot easier to go through, than to look at the data files for residence.
.Please update to 1.7 my plugin creating Errors
What permission plugin are you using ? Im using ess groupmanager and I dont know how to do it
Thanks, but I fixed it already using multi world permissions
Use perworldplugins plugin http://dev.bukkit.org/bukkit-plugins/perworldplugins/
Hello, could I translate your Residence to Traditional Chinese? 請問我能翻譯成繁體中文嗎?
How can I disable residence in world?
I wanted to allow players to buy additional MAX residence for in game money. Is there a way to do this?
For some reason my users can place blocks in any residence but then can't break them, even with build turned off. Does anyone know how to fix this?
I just tested a newest build on github (in plugin.yml version: 184.108.40.206) . Itemframes protection works, but it completely disable clicks, for example shopping via SignShop! :/
The autor must be busy since he didnt answer to my ticket either. Im looking forward to the new version and I hope he adds the fireprotection fix/newflag. I also requested so I can use for example Groupmanager groups for res gset.
I have problem with fire protection too.
It doesn't help, if I do a one block thick wall. Players can destroy it and if they are lucky (or there is lag) they destroy fire too, just before is glass recreated (by protection in residence)
Good luck ill be happy when ever it is done hope the extra time is worth it for the rewrite. for all the impatient people remember how long it took bukkit to rewrite craftbukkit for 1.7.2 :) have a good time I know it is going to be good. I hope that bug goes away that it is not protecting from block damage
Will you please add the fire protection ? I posted a ticket aswell. I really want it because fire is a decoration.
UPDATE: Due to my rewrite taking significantly longer than I expected it to.. I blindly pulled a PR from javacow into the old github that supposedly fixes the itemframe issue and some other things for anyone to use while waiting for the re-release. If you wish to use it, you will need to compile it yourself from the github codebase. Builds made as such are completely unsupported.
@MTXRooster Read the previous comments several pages back. This is a known issue. Most people say use the latest version of worldguard to protect the area/frames and set the appropriate WG flags for that region, as a workaround for now. Some came back and replied "Thanks! that worked!" But it doesn't work for me. Probably will be resolved in the next version of res I imagine.
