Manhunt Help

The Manhunt plugin has several rules, settings, and commands. Here you can find current help on what you can do, and what everything does. There are also pages dedicated to Manhunt rules, commands, settings, and FAQs, so be sure to check those out too!

Installing Manhunt

Installing Manhunt is the same as installing any other plugin. You must have the latest version of Craftbukkit installed and working properly.

  1. Download the Manhunt.jar file here
  2. Place the jar into your "plugins" folder
  3. Run the server! It's that simple!

It is recommended that you do not run any other plugins with Manhunt, as it has not been optimized for maximum compatibility with other plugins. It was designed to be a standalone plugin, and I have no idea how it will interact with other plugins.

Starting a Game

To start up your first game of Manhunt, you'll have to perform three optional steps. It is possible to start the game without any setup, but you may want to lay down some ground rules before getting started.

  1. Make sure everybody understands the basic rules of Manhunt. You can access them in-game with the command "/m rules"
  2. Make sure the game's settings are to your liking. You can check and change settings with the command "/m settings"
    1. Visit the "Settings" help page for more information
  3. Assign teams with the "/m hunter", "/m prey", and "/m spectate" commands.

Use the command "/m startgame" to initiate the Manhunt game. This will teleport all of the Hunters to the pre-game waiting area and the Prey to their spawn point. The day's time will be reset so that once the preparation period is over, the sun will be setting. All monsters and dropped items will be deleted from the world, so please be aware of this when running Manhunt on a public server! Also, if the setting "loadouts" is set to "true", then all player's inventories will be automatically cleared and reset to the pre-defined loadouts. Hunters will receive their loadouts when the pre-game waiting period is over.

Ending the Game

Just as important as starting the game is ending it! There are four ways to end a Manhunt game.

  1. One team is completely eliminated, making the other team the victors!
  2. The time limit runs out, making the Prey the victors!
  3. A server op terminates the game with the command "/m stopgame"
  4. The server shuts down or the plugin crashes.
