- Adjust drop rates based on mob type
- Adjust drop rates based on ticks-lived
- Adjust drop rates based on what weapon is used
- Adjust drop rates based on spawn conditions (Breeding, Spawners, /summon, ...)
- Require using specific weapon(s) to get heads to drop
- Enabling charged creeper head drops
- Change any head textures, or add your own
- Optionally require killed by a player (configurable what counts as 'killed by a player')
- Opt-in automatic updates
- ...and more! Check out config files in the GitHub repository

Troubleshooting / F.A.Q.
Q: Heads are not dropping!
A: There a many possible causes; here is a quick checklist of things you should try:
* Check if another plugin is causing the issue (compatibility)
* Check if you have the dropheads.canbehead permission
* Check head-drop-rates and spawn-cause-modifiers configs (e.g. spawn egg rates are nerfed!)
* Keep in mind the time-alive, weapon-used, and looting modifiers.
* If killing a player, check if they have the dropheads.canlosehead permission
* If you have modified your config files, check them carefully for other causes
Q: Does this plugin cause lag?
A: It shouldn't! I hear it is much faster than Xisumavoid's datapack :)
Q: Can I edit the head textures (i.e., to match a resource pack)?
A: Yes! Look in the head-textures.txt file
Q: Migrating from another heads plugin?
A: It should be an easy drag-n-drop replacement, but if you have any issues let me know!
Q: How do I install on Forge/Fabric/Singleplayer?
A: DropHeads currently only works on Bukkit and its forks (Spigot, etc); try the MMH-Nano datapack
Q: Where do I get help / report a bug?
A: You can post a comment below, create a bug report, or DM me :)
Q: Older versions of Minecraft?
A: Currently, DropHeads runs on 1.13+. You can find older DropHead jars for 1.12 in the Files tab, otherwise seek out a plugin with support for legacy versions, such as PlayerHeads.
Planned
- Fabric support
- Improve existing textures
- Tropical Fish heads (have the 22 common ones, still need the 3104 rare varieties ☹️)
- Horse variants (for the different patterns)
- Carpeted llamas
Please reach out if you find bugs or have a texture suggestions!

Oh, it actually pretty simple to get that working! Go to the 'head-item-drop-mode' setting in the config, and set it to something besides "EVENT"
(The reason for this, is by default it adds the dropped head to the death drops loot, but if keep inventory is on you will want to just spawn the item or directly put it in the inventory of the killer, etc. There is a list of the options in a comment in the config above the setting)
Does it work for offline serveris (player heads)? I have offline bukkit-spigot server and player heads don't drop for me. Checked all edited configs. Also have OpenInv plugin if it can cause issues.
In reply to Tomauskis:
i don't think it will, because offline servers don't have a way to look up player skins, but i can check and see
version how many?
In reply to samedaymlk:
not sure what you are asking but it supports Minecraft versions from 1.13 - 1.17.1 :)
the plugin is currently version 3.6.10 (latest file)
Hi there,i want to kill mobs for heads, they say that parrots got 0.8% for dropping one,i killed around 200 parrots and got nothing,is there any chance that i can increase my chances tot get mob heads?
In reply to minecraftunknow21:
Yes, just look in the folder "/plugins/DropHeads/head-drop-rates.txt" (the file looks like this) and change the number for parrot to something larger (0=0%, 1=100%, 0.5=50%, etc.)
I find an issue in the latest version.
The issue is about head-click-listener.
If a player keeps right-clicking a head many times quickly,
the tps drops a lot from 20 to be 5.
In reply to siulung201314:
I see, I can fix it soon. Maybe disable the head-click-listener or use the previous version until it is fixed
In reply to EvModder:
Thanks so much.
Is there a command that can directly give a head to other player, not to myself?
In reply to siulung201314:
Not yet, but you could use a vanilla Minecraft command to get heads from here:
I will add a feature soon to make it work with /give

Some players report to me that they name a rabbit to be toast.
When they kill that rabbit, it does not drop toast's head.
Is it possible to set that rabbit to drop toast's head?
In reply to siulung201314:
Yes, this is fixed now in update v3.6.9 (download will be available here soon)
How do end the decapitated notification spam it gives me?
In reply to a_bearded_dragon:
easiest way to end all the notification messages is go to this file (in your server's plugins/DropHeads folder) and set:
behead-announcement:
default: 'OFF'
(you can also turn it off for just whichever mob type you don't want spam for depending on your preference)
when players in my server get "decapitated" the head that drops is Steve and not the actual players head, Did i set something up wrong?
I saw someone else had this issue, but i tried for my head and i have my account setup properly.
In reply to Wubbitss:
Yeah, it might be a setup issue or it could be a bug. I can't seem to get it to happen for myself, but if you could put any config files you modified on https://pastebin.com/ and PM me a link to it (plus any other plugins you think might affect heads)
Is the drop rate the one right after the name of the mob or the one after the "//" and "PH:"?
In reply to cagney__:
It is the first one, right after the name (sorry about the other one, I left that in as documentation for myself to compare to PlayerHeads plugin and forgot to take it out of the config in some released versions)
