Nordic
ABOUT
Nordic is a Worldgenerator which creates a world that will have a nordic looking. There are continents and smaller islands. There are lakes, a custom Treetype, some caves and all ores/mushrooms/flowers/lava... whatever you need. Most of the screenshots were made during development using the seed 1337 if you want to try this world. You might experience some strange spawning locations and some strange blocks around the generated lakes, but it should be very rare.
You have to know how to edit the bukkit.yml or use a plugin that does this part for you, like Pinapp. The command & permission beneath are not needed if you use Pinapp or edit the bukkit.yml, i just left them in so its possible to take a look on a Nordic world without doing any configuration stuff.
MOAR SCREENS!!111 (including a shiny 360° panorama)
Also thanks alot to @codename_B for allowing me to use his BlockPopulators.
And as always, feedback and suggestions are always welcome, hope you like it.
COMMANDS
/nordic <worldname> <seed>
Creates a new Nordic world and ports you in the world. If there already is a world with the given name, you will just be ported in the world.
PERMISSIONS
nordic.command
Gives access to the /nordic command
HOW TO USE WITH A MULTIWORLD MANAGER
For Pinapp see: Link
For Multiverse see: Link
For My Worlds see: Link
Any others multiworld manager that supports generators should provide information on how to do it. Everything you need from Nordic apart from the .jar file is the Generatorname, which is Nordic
bukkit.yml
you have to add the following to your bukkit.yml file if you aren't using pinapp or a similar plugin:
worlds: yourworldname: generator: Nordic
you should find a way to make this into a biome in the normal word type
@yamar35 No structures are generated in the Nordic world.
And yes, there's no reeds/cactus. You wouldn't expect to find them in an enviroment such as this.
First off, the terrain looks great, very Norse.
I was wondering if there are there dungeons or mineshafts in the terrain gen? I have been unable to locate any of either, and I quite liked those features in the default worldgen...
Thanks,
- Yamar
Edit: I also cant seem to find any reeds or cactus.
Very nice plugin!
@Minerby

latest version work on R0.1 or only at R0.2?

hi there, i updated nordic for 1.2.3-R0.2 and added the new lake gen from Tropic i'll upload the new file in a minute
And yes, the Populatorname is case sensitive.
Maybe it's case sensitive? Try ''Nordic'' instead of ''nordic''. I recall it being case-sensitive when it was called Banananordic.
or where do i download Nordic.jar???
when i tryed to generate a nordic world it said:
World 'world1' could not be loaded because the chunk generator 'nordic:' was not found!
what to do?
@s1mpl3x Cool! If it indeed does end up being possible to do during generation, consider perhaps adding a config file that allows everything to be generated as snow biome. You know, for that wintery feel.
Or, you might have other ideas about what to do with this. Maybe it'll allow making customized biomes of your own design?
EDIT: Oh, and are you adding your rewritten lake populator to this?
Any way you could post a separate plugin that generates those big pinetrees in a special biome?
@eg_bruge_hud
yes, i hope it will be within the new api so i could do it during the generation, but even if not it should be possible for other plugins to do that later
How can i download it? What for progrems do i need?
Now that the biome information is saved with the world, will it be possible to alter it so that we won't have to deal with those jarring biome grass changes?
@gcity306
i can't do anything until the new bukkit api for the world generators is released :(
https://bukkit.atlassian.net/browse/BUKKIT-874
thats the issue im waiting on, as soon as this is done, i'll update Nordic
How far are you with updating to 1.2.3? I really can't wait to use this!
I'll update it for 1.2 as soon as the new Bukkit wgen API is released
Will you update for R5?
