Villages
PLEASE READ THIS
This video below sums up what's happening with Villages (and all my other plugins) and most likely a lot of other plugins, this is just my two cents and I would appreciate if you would watch this video.
What is it?
Similar to plugins like Towny, We wanted to create a simplified version, more of the, let the player decide, rather than letting the plugin or an administrator decide.
How it works
Basically, a player can pay money to create a village (if economy is used, or simply it's free) at the chunk they're standing on, and invite players. Players can only be invited to a single village, the residents can then deposit money into the village which the mayor can spend to expand the village.
Due to some recent Bukkit changes I have to point out that this plugin checks for updates using the Curse API, and you can disable this feature at any time if you wish, simply check under the configuration page for the update setting and how to disable it.
Future plans
So far the plugin is fairly basic, I wanted to put it on Bukkit, see how it goes and if you people like it, I'll add more stuff, you can comment what you'd like to see added below if you wish.
Some of the basic ideas I have now are:
- Regions, which may have one or more Villages in them
- Wars between Villages and/or regions

Hey, I absolutely love this plugin and (after tweaking the name villages to kingdoms) this is a large part of my server, lost kingdoms. I do have one problem, however. It would be awesome if you could find time in a future update to add the option to customise the way that villages displays village information, as in the colours and text. For example the /village command. My server has a chat theme (perfectionist) and although I like the italic and tab spacing I would prefer to be able to customise all of the text that is shown to the player.

Would it be possible to add a feature that lets you create villages by right-clicking with an item?
For example, right-clicking the ground with a shovel would bring up a message in the chat:
"You need a name for your village! Typing the name of your village will create it for $, or change items to cancel."
Right-clicking on a chunk adjacent to your town could say:
"Right-click in this chunk again in the next 5 seconds to expand your village for $."
That would be awesome.

Make sure that you save AFTER the server is switched off, the plugin will override the file when the server shuts down so:

when I try to change the ''messages.yml'' file with a translation, it wont let me change the file. After a restart, it magically resets in english.

Village Wars are not fully implemented, I planned to add more before releasing an update but the 1.7.9 stuff is causing all the other code to go on hold.

Offtop: What the map ?
Ok, just updated the plugin to version 2.22, Some changes:
Looking at some of the 1.7.9 stuff (which I haven't had a good chance to look at before) it seems that in future versions of Minecraft that there may be a full update for Players (since players will be able to change names I have to store their UUID instead of their names into the data files) which may be more complex than I thought and require a reprogramming of the whole plugin.
When I get more information I'll be sure to post here, and I'll try to make the update as seamless as possible.

at the moment you can talk with /vil msg but if you need a more complex system then you can implement this with herochat or my plugin DomsCommands
Also can you implement a chat system like towny and factions? public, local and town.

After a long time I have just updated this plugin to version 2.20, Changes:

Ok good to know, I have had a lot of people trying to get me to switch to factions and even though I want to donate here I need to keep server happy or people leave. Thank you very much and you plugin is great I hope it gets better in the future. Until then thank you for the months of happiness and I must start to look for a plugin that works with my PvP server. Thank you for reading this and if you ever do get War integrated please let me know I would love to switch back.

Probably not, we never really said that we'd make a war update, it was only a idea we had ages ago. We don't really have the time to work on Villages but we do when we can.
