IRC Details
Remember, IRC is an unmoderated medium. Our network administrators do our best to keep problem people off of the network. The WaffleIRC plugins and components were designed to mitigate as many problems as possible.
Some of the precautionary methods used are forcing user modes +cir by the server for all in game connections. This will prevent random people from messaging users in game from IRC unless they are actually in the same channel.
It is up to you as a server owner to police your channels. WaffleIRC attempts to provide tools to you and your users, but there is only so much a plugin can do. The IRC network provides you with the remaining tools to limit who can interact in your channels and to what level.
We provide services such as ChanServ and NickServ that have loose integration to allow for easier management on IRC.
