Villages
PLEASE READ THIS
This video below sums up what's happening with Villages (and all my other plugins) and most likely a lot of other plugins, this is just my two cents and I would appreciate if you would watch this video.
What is it?
Similar to plugins like Towny, We wanted to create a simplified version, more of the, let the player decide, rather than letting the plugin or an administrator decide.
How it works
Basically, a player can pay money to create a village (if economy is used, or simply it's free) at the chunk they're standing on, and invite players. Players can only be invited to a single village, the residents can then deposit money into the village which the mayor can spend to expand the village.
Due to some recent Bukkit changes I have to point out that this plugin checks for updates using the Curse API, and you can disable this feature at any time if you wish, simply check under the configuration page for the update setting and how to disable it.
Future plans
So far the plugin is fairly basic, I wanted to put it on Bukkit, see how it goes and if you people like it, I'll add more stuff, you can comment what you'd like to see added below if you wish.
Some of the basic ideas I have now are:
- Regions, which may have one or more Villages in them
- Wars between Villages and/or regions

Looks like a great plugin.
I am making a medieval role-play kingdom server and currently using the factions plugin for kingdoms, but I've been interested in adding villages that either act under the kingdom or are built along the roads, for people to stop by.
Would this plugin integrate well with factions?

I'll look into adding some form of Village Ranks in the near future, but I'm not sure when I'll get around to it..

I fixed the create village in different worlds, but as far as I can tell people can't break in the wilderness, maybe check your config and make sure it's setup properly?

2 more bugs, people can still start villages in worlds not listed, and the griefwild will only stop them placing blocks, they can break/remove anything in the wild.
What about a feature like having an Elder rank which would be like a Mod on the factions plugin. Or a Vault feature, where the Mayor can store items and allow certain people into it, or just Elders. And also I can't see that there is any way to raid with this plugin? My server is a PvP, Griefing server and I was hoping to find out if any of these features were something that you guys could look into. Sorry for my grammar, it's very late here. Thank you in advance for your reply.

This is dependant on your MySQL server.. it has to do with the character encoding. if you can, limit it to UTF-8 or latin1, there's more info about it here
Or, use YML instead of SQL.

Found a bug :( When you turn griefwild to false it wont let you place blocks in worlds not listed. I want to use the settings below, but it stops people building in the 3 other worlds not listed

Thanks for the suggestions, I think you can use /vanish instead of /v with VanishNoPacket. I know it may be a bit annoying to start with, but you'll eventually get used to it.
As for the Wilderness prefix, We will fix this up in the next update.
Hey bro this plugin looks awesome! Suggestions as I want to use this on my server: 1) Are you able to change it so that when you go /v it doesn't have Villages as it changes the VanishNoPacket /v vanish 2) I've disabled it on normal worlds and assigned it to be used on a specific world however the normal world chat shows [Wilderness] in chat prefix, could you add a feature to disable that?

Thanks for the suggestions, I'll try to add the first, third and fourth one in the next update, as for the second one, well I'm not sure how that would go.. I'll look into it but it is no guarantee.
A couple suggestions on taxes based on my testing.
1) Can you make a setting to allow a tax to be based on the size of the village, ie: more tax per village after each expansion. [taxmultiplier = X] then you can track how many expands they have performed in your villages.yml file.
2) Give a player to pay the tax before its due and move the tax day forward and the ability to partially pay the due amount. /taxpay [amount]
3) A command to show current tax due. /taxamt
4) A command to tell when the next tax day is. /taxday
