TravelPortals
TravelPortals is a plugin which allows users to teleport between locations using structures made mainly of obsidian. The goal of this was to create a quick way to move users from place to place without making the method to do so completely free.
MinecraftZero has created a video showing them in action. It is available here!

@Takedashin
Are you on the latest version of the plugin?
I've been running this on my server with no problems since 1.2.5 came out. There is a slight chance that no one has actually created any new portals since the change, but I rather doubt it. I know that I have used them since then and it has worked just fine. I can take another look later tonight, but I'm pretty sure that this works just fine with 1.2.5.
Update: Yeah, everything is working as expected on my 1.2.5 server. (running the RB) If you're still having problems, definitely check the version of the plugin and the version of the server; if you still have problems, get back to me.
hm, after the new bukkit update to 1.2.5
Portals are not working for me and any other User.
I can create portals and if I put water above the redstone torch, door closes as always. But If I want to name it it says I need to stand one block in front of it.... an I'm doing it. So all portals are not working anymore.
what's wrong? :/
Ive been using this since 2.2.4, yea just started but the server has up to 10 different portals and works perfectly, I love this system and have noticed that other portal plugins aren't being updated as frequently
thanks again and I look forward to CB 1.2.4 update
Great work
@someoneb
The design of the portals is not going to change. This has been around way too long to start fresh, and there is no way at all to migrate all old portals to that size.
As for your other idea though, I like that. It might be a tad tricky to get right, but it is certainly a potential fix to an ongoing problem. I think the real fix is going to be checking to see if the user is in the middle of the block; not just touching it as we seem to be now, but good idea.
The behavior HAS improved since the second-to-last release - update now if you haven't already. There was a nasty bug in that version that made portal locations get all out of whack. It's still not perfect, but we're at least back to old behavior.
Hi, it would be awesome if you made portals "shorter". It seems, that players get ported BEFORE entering the water at all. (or in my case: the air) I reconfigured it so i have a - xox - - oRo - Portal structure with door2 = 0 and fill = 0.
@Jenssss91
Just to let you know, I put out a build that fixes that jumping problem a few hours ago. You'll probably want to grab it.
@TheSymmes
Yes there is. I believe the default cooldown is 5 seconds, and it is configurable in config.yml.
Be aware; this cooldown is there for a reason. If you set it too low you will just teleport back and forth endlessly.
Is there some kind of delay before the portals work again? I tried to set up a speedy-thing-go-in, speedy-thing-go-out type of thing from portal the game, but I just sat in the second portal after going through once.
@cppchriscpp Thank you for your response. It Works!
I will broadcast it now every 30minutes on my Server ;)
@Jenssss91
For the short term, try jumping when you're in the portal. It's almost looking like the player's y position changed in this version. In the longer term I hope to release a new version which deals with this issue, but I just haven't had time yet.
And... it does have a debug mode. Set debug: 1 in the config file. I don't think the output will be that helpful for this, but you can check if a portal is present with /portal info, etc.
@cppchriscpp
I have just the same Problem. Like Thyadar. I just updated it to the dev-Version and (with no system behind) some Portals are not working anymore. Sometimes Users can use the Portals.
And nothing. No Error.
Is there a possibillity to get an debug-Mode for this Plugin?
Maybe I can help to find this error.
@TNThieding
The problem with R6 has been fixed. I tested against R5, and since that worked, I assumed R6 only added some minor stuff and had no breaking changes. I was wrong. You should be good to go for R6 and any 1.2 builds, though I will double-check to make sure of this shortly.
@TNThieding
There will not be an update until we get closer to a recommended build if and only if this plugin still does not perform as expected.
Seriously guys, just wait for Bukkit to get closer to a working version. Most plugins are broken right now. It's not a problem with the plugin; it's Bukkit being updated to the latest code.
This happens with every update. Just be patient.
I adore this plugin, but when will an update be available?
@Thyadar
I've never seen or even heard about that problem. Did anything change in your environment during that time? Perhaps you added some new plugin(s), or had some sorta data issue and had to restore from a backup? Or was there some event that could have corrupted the data file that saves the warps? Or did you perchance make some changes to the world that would have resulted in portals being moved by another plugin?
These are just a few ideas - I need more information to find out what's gone wrong. If nothing's changed, I'm out of ideas. I know once in a while the portals get a bit overzealous and teleport you a little bit outside the range of the portal, but that's the only issue like this that I am aware of, and that should be addressed with a new release when I get the chance.
I got a problem with the PlugIn Mate.
I installed it some months ago and till last week it worked fine.
But since three days or sth. its screwed up.
The portals dont warp anymore or just one way.
But if I stand in front of the portals and go for /portal info
they tell me the correct names and warps.
U know sth about this?
(Had to reactivate about 10 Portals in the last 3 Days)
@Necropedophil
Yep, you're correct. As I said, it's a tad misleading in the name, but naming it anything else would also seem weird.
@cppchriscpp
Hahah anytime! And yes i will try to put both in and let you know what happens and just to be 100% clear this only lets the users(group) Use the portal right? they wont be able to Create or destroy or claim right? And yes i have RC3! Thank god! I almost cried when i uped to RC2 and nothing worked. lol.
EDIT: HUHZAA!!! (Dont really know how to spell that.. i did my best =) The Portal works!! Sweet thanks alot again man awesome plugin once you figure it out. ill probably put up a tutorial video on youtube tonight if you are not planning on updating the Strings or nodes (Whatever they are called) for a couple days or whenever.
@Necropedophil
It should work. Does it work for users that were normally able to use the portal? I think you do need both travelportals.portal.use and travelportals.admin.portal.use, if you don't have both of them yet. I probably should have stated that. I'm not 100% sure that is true, but I feel like I should at least give you something to try.
Oh, and if you're on either RC1 or RC2, upgrade. Those version are just plain broken.
Also, thanks for the laugh at work on your other comment. It's no big deal.
@cppchriscpp
Hey i just set that node and it doesn't display the "You do not own this portal" message anymore but it also doesn't teleport the users it doesn't do anything.
