TravelPortals
TravelPortals is a plugin which allows users to teleport between locations using structures made mainly of obsidian. The goal of this was to create a quick way to move users from place to place without making the method to do so completely free.
MinecraftZero has created a video showing them in action. It is available here!

I'm using TravelPortals 1.4.7-R1.0 on CraftBukkit Dev 1.5.2-R0.2, There is no errors to log in the server.log, It just will not create the portals, I Tried to replace the .jar wioth TravelPortals 1.4.7 again and nothing changed, I will just back it up and do a fresh re-install later to see if its the config or anything inside its folder causing it.
Thanks a lot for the response!
@luridftw32
Alright, so I just took tried it out on the latest beta, and everything looks alright. Which build were you trying to run? I tried on 1.5.2R0.1 - if you were using a development build, I recommend going back to this and trying again.
If that is the version you were running, it sounds more like you've run into a bug. If you could give me more details on exactly what is happening and any relevant entries in your server.log, I'll be happy to help you further.

I can't say I have tested on 1.5.2 yet, but I'll look onto your problem after work. If anyone else is (or isn't) seeing this, let me know.
Chris
I think this plugin is broken on 1.5.2, The existing portals still work, However I cannot create new ones. Is anyone else having this problem?
@boushwa
I know that this has been requested in the past, but I don't think I ever got to the point of implementing it. Sorry about that.
ps: thanks for making me look at this. Looks like I broke a few images when I switched my site over to wordpress. On that now...
Hi,
I was wondering if there is a way to allow users to access certain portals and not others? I use PEX but I didn't see any permissions in your list that seems to be portal specific perms. Have I missed it or does that feature not exist?
Thanks.
'*Waves Wildly*' Hello again cppchriscpp!
Just letting you know, I'm still using this plugin, and my players are Still loving it!
Thank You! Thank You! Thank You!

@C7_4K
Nope, but you shouldn't need one. This plugin should still run fine with the latest version, so you should be all set using it. I apparently never updated the compatible versions after the last update - sorry about that.
any update ?
@iCoconut732
Hey,
I'm afraid that this is unrealistic with the way the current system works. If this becomes a popular request I may consider it, but for now I'll have to say no.
Regards,
Chris
Hello!
First I want to thank you for the awesome plugin! Setup and configuration was a breeze.
However, I want to ask if it would be possible the have one portal have multiple warp outputs (randomized or in order- does not matter). If not, that's fine too- thanks for the awesome plugin :D
@theRadgod
Hey,
So that is some pretty weird behavior, and off the top of my head I cannot think of a reason for this. Nothing has changed in the plugin for a while, so if anything caused it, I'd think it might be Craftbukkit itself. If you see this with new portals on a recommended build, I'll be happy to address it.
One note for you though- if you use a world modifying plugin such as worldedit (or otherwise move your portals around w/o rebuilding them) on your portals, their locations will not be updated. That could easily cause this problem.
chris
Howdy, cppchriscpp. It's been a while since I got on here. It's probably been a while since you've thought about this mod, but in case you check this once in a while, I have a problem I was hoping to have help with:
I have a teleport that takes me to a very faraway place, and when I use this teleport I end up in a wall (not sure what wall) and I die. If I start clicking it sounds like I am hitting blocks, but I can't escape. If I do this, and die, I can use the portal successfully for a while. I find (almost) all my items in a pile where I died (that is, at the destination portal's door). It's as if the portal fails to place me in the water if it doesn't have the chunk loaded before I get there, and it places me in the wall instead.
I'm running the newest 1.4.6 development build of CB and TravelPortals 2.2.4, if that's relevant.
Edit: It appears I was appearing a couple blocks below (and perhaps one to the left or right) of where the portal was. Why would that be? Anyway, I recreated the portal and now I consistently reappear... exactly one block below the block I'm supposed to reappear on. I have to jump to get out of the portal.

I'm not sure what you mean by the .txt file. How old of a version of TravelPortals were you running before this one? There should be a TravelPortals.ser file that is created in plugins/TravelPortals - this file contains all of your portals. It used to be known as doorwarp.ser in a *much* older version. If this is the case, you'll need to use an older version (I can look up which one) with that file to get it into the right format before you can use the latest version. I think you might just be looking at the wrong file, though.
i just updated to the release for 1.3.1-r1.0. I'm unable to load my old portals. it's been awhile since i did it last, do i just swap out the .txt file or is there another file that i pull from my backup??
I found a solution for disabling portal use in a permissions rank system.
I found that leaving out all travel portal permission nodes, for some reason, would enable the use of portals to all ranks. The "travelportals.nopermissions" node did not disable the use so I had to improvise. Instead of that node, I used a negative "travelportals.portal.use", so "-travelportals.portal.use". This allows you to prevent players from teleporting.
@craftopia
Here's something you can do. Create your portal. Place a sponge block next to it to extract the water. Break the block below the door if you want the door to be removed. The portal still functions this way! :)
You can also place lava inside to create a different look.
I dont actually have multiverse or any other multi-world plugin; only your travelportals plugin. So I guess I go back to the drawing boards. Thanks for your help! The portals are working great and I love this plugin!

@Daenerys2012
Well, this plugin does not touch nether portals, so I doubt that this plugin is the cause. I can't say I've ever heard of this problem before, but if you're using a multiworld plugin such as Multiverse, I'd check your config and make sure you actually have a nether world to warp to.
Let me know if you need any assistance with the plugin.
Chris
Hello, I really like this plugin and I know of a server that has it and it works fine, but for some reason when I set up my portals, the nether portal wont warp. It warbles like it's going to, but then it just warbles and warbles without warping the player. I wasn't sure if this was something that has happened before?
