Plugin: TrainCarts - Linked Minecarts, sign-redstone systems, easy to use and realistic
Version: v1.73.0
Build: 1.7.2 R0.1/R0.2
Incompatible with: RailCraft
Description
This plugin looks for suitable Minecarts and links them together if possible. When two Minecarts are being "linked", the Minecarts will act as one single moving train.
Once carts are successfully linked, an effect is played and their velocity is shared in combination with an individual factor for each Minecart, which is used to remain a steady gap between carts. This gap is adjustable, the force at which this happens as well.
End result: a train! You can move it, make a roller-coaster out of it, split it in half, watch trains collide, whatever you want to do with trains. :)
As for 1.21, it is also possible to safely exit your train by setting an exit offset with a (sideways) push factor for the train. This feature is disabled by default. (only affects dropped items). If you want to display arrival times on signs (see redstone circuit part) you need SignLink, see the downloads on the bottom of the page.
As for 1.35 you can set train properties to make 'special' trains, or to 'finalize' a train

Note that I would prefer having comments, bug reports and others in the main Bukkit page, since I visit that site the most. :)
Addons
Special Addons for TrainCarts
Features
- Link minecarts using collision: no commands needed to make a train
- Move trains as easily as you would with single Minecarts
- Store trains to file for persistence during reloads and server restarts
- Use sign-redstone circuits for subway systems, complete railroads and much more
- Station to gracefully stop and launch trains
- Spawn
- Teleport
- Property setters
- Tag systems to switch certain tracks based on tags on the train
- Destination systems to make your train travel to far-away lands all on it's own
- Supports Minecart Mania's features
- Infinite minecart speeds are possible
- Push-away: Push mobs, players and items away from your trains to keep them running
- Everything is configurable, if something proves not to be, I will make it that way
FAQ
When players are near, trains reach their destinations. With no one near, they don't. What do I do?
By default trains do not keep chunks loaded, and they will unload once they move into unloaded chunks. To make trains keep the chunk area (and themselves) around them loaded, set the 'keepchunksloaded' property to True. This can be done using the /train keepchunksloaded true command, using a property sign or by changing it to true in the DefaultTrainProperties.yml file. For more information about train properties, see here.
Why not boats?!?!
Incompatibilities
If you have another plugin that performs similar Minecart replacement techniques, it is likely that TrainCarts will not function or function poorly. For the 'chunk persistence' part of this plugin, other plugins that unload chunks without firing events result in this feature failing. Minebackup is known for having this problem.
Metrics
This plugin sends server count statistics to MCStats.org. You can (globally) opt out in the PluginMetrics/config.yml file.
it doesnt work, but before you repair my previous problem (about first cart derailed) it worked great
@pnndzwdz Hmn are both destination signs placed under/attached to the same rails block? That is one case where I managed to make it fail. In other cases, using /train reroute fixed everything up. I am not sure why you have the 'aaaa' and 'bbbb' destinations though, leaving it out and setting the first property signs on 'cccc' and 'dddd' worked just fine as well.
now its works, but woke up a new problem, about I wrote in traincarts for minecraft 1.5.2.
I say, what's going on using a picture: http://img849.imageshack.us/img849/8587/40r1.png
@KingLucifer Does the plugin show up in green when using /plugins? If not, check the server log if the plugin loads up. If it does not, check whether the jar file of TC is really on there. If it does show up, check for enable failures in the log. If everything loaded up right, see if you have all the required permissions.
Additionally, using /train should show TrainCarts versioning information. Does this command work? If not, then it is an installation problem. If it does, check that you perhaps don't have all permissions necessary to place TrainCarts carts. (see PermissionDefaults.yml)
Hi i Downloaded the Dev bulid of train carts from that link above and its not loading up iam not geting a error or anything i hava a up to date bkcommanlib and everything and the console shows nothing if u could tell me were iam going wrong that would be grate iam just droping the Jar into the plugins folder and starting the server are there other steps i need to do? i also checked ur help links thay did not help me so look forword to hearing back
thanks
@Jacold @Miax785 In case the image wasn't showing, I moved the URL to be a dropbox link. Chrome doesn't like ported-url images for some reason. See all bottom main page: there are dev-builds for 1.6.2.
@pnndzwdz I am not entirely sure why it derailed, the only reason for it to derail would be if the rails aren't found...which doesn't happen. In any case, I made several (see: a lot of) changes recently for stations as they were behaving rather strangely. If the latest build (#16) fixed (or didn't fix) it, let me know. Meanwhile I'll try building what you built to see if I can get it reproduced.
EDIT
Made the exact same set-up but no weird bugs or anything. If this issue still exists on the latest 1.6.2 builds of BKCommonLib and TrainCarts, send me a PM so you can show the bug to me in person. Maybe I'll be able to figure out what's up by inspecting what is there.
Hello, I have problem shown in the 4 pictures: http://pnndzwdz.flog.pl/wpis/7469226/
On this station from 5-carts train, first cart derailed, and I don't know why...

Where are dev versions of TC? Here are Action Blocks (Cockroach ZOMG)...
where can got TrainCarts for version 1.6.2?????
@RobinioFTW Best way I can recommend is: Give or revoke the 'train.place.traincart' permission (by default this is TRUE, change in PermissionDefaults.yml)
@bergerkiller
Is it possible so certain groups can create trains? Because i want people to donate to create trains, could that be possible, or possible in the future?
Not working on 1.6.2 even not with the development build...
edit: never mind I forgot to delete the old one.
@FartFails Is it possible for me to join the server so I can see this happening for myself? Most importantly, how often does this happen and are all trains affected by this bug? In addition, can you upload your config.yml and DefaultTrainProperties.yml to pastebin.com?
"Not opped players bug into a minecart" probably means that they automatically enter upon walking into the minecart, correct?
EDIT
It did randomly occur that trains were sent back, but I couldn't find a clear way to reproduce it. It appeared to have to do with who is in the cart tho, so cart ownership made a difference. I'll have to test further tomorrow.
@bergerkiller
I Updated to the newest development build of TrainCarts and BKCommonLib, I still have the bug!
@FartFails Since you are asking for a 1.6.2 update: the 1.6.2 development builds already fix the problem aforementioned.
We have a strange bug: Not opped players bugg into a minecart and sometimes moving carts filled with players, stop. but the other carts of the train wont stop! I dont know if this bug already is detected. Fix it please. We need the plugin! (And please update to 1.6.2)
Hi I was wondering when TrainCarts will be updated to 1.6.2. Thanks. @bergerkiller
@bergerkiller
Hi bergerkiller, thank you very much. Todays versions are installed and tested now - now problems here.
All our trains spawn as expected and are killed at their destination. Our commuter trains work fine.
Have a nice (and sunny) weekend!
@Gixrider The following bugs still need looking at as of right now:
The following bugs were solved (recently):
So to round it all up: it works very well, as long as you make sure to either clear or call back all trains when restarting the server.
@bergerkiller
Thank you, bergerkiller, that's what I did understand and I know, that's the right way. Is it possible for me (and other users) to find out, which bugs are not resolved? That would make the decision to install or not easier. I don't like to activate "warp" too often because I want my users to use the railways.
Again: I don't want to have any guarantees but to evaluate the problems. Thank you again and good luck eleminating the bugs.
Best regards, Gix
