Downloads
I'm too lazy to upload TARDIS files to Bukkit anymore, as builds are automatically created when the plugin is updated and changes pushed to GitHub.
Version specific downloads can be found here: https://tardis.pages.dev/download
Please make sure you are using the latest Spigot/Paper builds (for the Minecraft version you are running) before installing TARDIS or creating an issue!
What it does
TARDIS is a plugin that gives you the ability to create a Police Box that lets you time travel (teleport) to random locations. It adds a Whovian twist to the typical /sethome and /home commands.
As a player, you can:
- Create a TARDIS that is bigger on the inside.
- Time travel to a random location.
- Time travel back home (where you created the TARDIS initially).
- Save and list interesting time travel locations, so you can return to them easily.
- Take companions with you when you time travel.
- Make your TARDIS blend in with the Chameleon Circuit.
- Use your own schematic to build the TARDIS interior
- Grow new TARDIS rooms
- Use Artron Energy
- Remote control the TARDIS
- Custom TARDIS sounds with companion Resource Pack
- Custom TARDIS textures with companion Resource Pack

Installation
As a minimum, just drop the TARDIS.jar, TARDISChunkGenerator.jar (look under Additional Files on the download page) and any optional plugins listed below into the Bukkit plugins folder and start your server. For more detailed instructions see: https://tardis.pages.dev/installation-v5
Optional installs
These are not needed for TARDIS to function, but enhance the plugin with extra features...
- Install the TARDIS-SoundResourcePack in the Minecraft client to hear custom TARDIS sounds
- Install the TARDIS-Resource-Pack to see aal the fancy textures and models (requires TARDIS v4.2 or higher).
- Install the TARDISChunkGenerator plugin so that you can generate TARDISes in their own self-contained world (included on the TARDIS plugin download page under Additional files).
- Install WorldGuard to automatically protect your TARDIS from griefing, and stop mobs spawning in TARDIS worlds.
- Install TARDISWeepingAngels to add some Whovian mobs to the game.
- Install a Permissions plugin, so that you can restrict or grant players the rights to use TARDIS’ different features. We like PermissionsBukkit.

Bugs / Requests
Please post a ticket for TARDIS plugin requests and bugs, thank you :)
WARNING: I am no longer prepared to waste my time looking at incomplete tickets. If your ticket does not follow the guidelines set out below, it will be deleted immediately!
Make sure you have read the FAQs first, as your question may already be answered there. Also make sure you have searched for a previous ticket with the same/similar issue (use the Filters to search closed tickets).
If you are going to create a BUG ticket you need to supply relevant information (as I'm not a mind reader, nor do I have access to your server...) - as a minimum you need:
- Exact CraftBukkit version i.e. NOT 'the latest' - use the
/tardis version
command if possible, otherwise copy from server log - Exact TARDIS version i.e. NOT 'the latest' - use the
/tardis version
command if possible, otherwise copy from server log - The server log showing the entire error (as a paste or at Pastebin - NOT a screenshot) - this should be the log from when the server starts up right through to when the error occurs
- If no error in the log, then a video of the bug happening or the EXACT steps needed to reproduce the issue.
- Attach your plugins/TARDIS/config.yml file or other configuration file if relevant
- Attach your plugins/TARDIS/TARDIS.db file if relevant
- List of other plugins on server
Stats
Basic statistics are collected for some versions of the TARDIS plugin (v2.5.8 and earlier). You can opt out at any time by setting opt-out: true
in plugins/PluginMetrics/config.yml
External web access
Version 2.8 (and higher) of this plugin includes a translation feature (the /tardissay
command) that connects to the Lingva translation service.
You can prevent players from using the command by removing / not giving them the permission tardis.translate

Quick question:
I've been trying to use the plugin with mods on a server running with Magma on 1.12.2 but the plugin seems to be broken for some reason (I do /tardis, nothing happens, I do /trecipe list, it tells me to do /trecipe list, the crafts don't work, etc).
Is there any reason why this happens? All other plugins and mods seem to work fine. And how can I fix that?
Thank you for your time.
In reply to Lavasyris:
No idea, plugin seems to enable without errors, don't have time or motivation to look any deeper than that sorry. Maybe when they catch up to 1.16.x...
Posting here since it's more of a question rather than a bug.
In planets.yml, each one of my planets has the environment set as "THE_END", for example
Is that normal? Does that affect anything?
In reply to CosmicSocietySonic:
Only if TARDIS is managing those worlds e.g. enabled is set to true, then you should set it to the correct value (NORMAL, NETHER or THE_END).
Looks like my auto-detect environment method has some issues...
In reply to CosmicSocietySonic:
Fixed in TARDISChunkGenerator build #85, though only for newly added worlds
Now with animation
Happy New Year!
TARDISChunkGenerator updated to 1.15.1... get it from the TARDIS Jenkins server
New weirdness, I turned on create_worlds and everything was going fine till I tried to change the desktop theme. Original theme was bigger and i switched to 11th and no blocks changed except for the one barrier block it places you on the corner of. The control sign didn't work anymore so I updated it and tried a different theme. I went with Ender this time, it moved me back to the corner of the barrier block then deleted all but one chunk of the console room and didn't build anything again. Now there is no door to get and no console :P
There are no errors and the tardis thinks it has the proper console room.
Any ideas what could cause this?
In reply to Tarluin:
I'll look into when I get a chance, but I don't recommend using the create_worlds option as individual worlds per TARDIS uses a lot of memory.
In reply to Tarluin:
Tested on a fresh server with create_worlds: true and not seeing any issues. Did you actually create a new TARDIS so that it made a new world? You can't change the setting after TARDISes have already been created...
In reply to eccentric_devotion:
Yes, I reset everything, new world etc. I also installed CoreProtect and switched all the plugins over to use MySQL. Oh and i started using spigot paper 1.14.4 because they have async chunk loading now made the server very snappy.
In reply to eccentric_devotion:
Ok, I made a new tardis in the normal TARDIS_TimeVortex and theme works as intended.
I logged my alt in, gave him the tardis.create_world permission the same seed the other one used (Eleventh) and created a tardis in its own world and the theme changes no blocks.
In reply to Tarluin:
Still not seeing any issues changing the theme when using the tardis.create_world permission
In reply to eccentric_devotion:
I stopped using mysql and it worked as intended.
In reply to Tarluin:
Finally got around to testing the desktop theme when using MySQL as the TARDIS database provider. Not having any issues changing the theme with this setup either...
Ok I have a tardis that is dispersed but its blue glass instead of carpet and standing in the middle using the sonic in the air doesn't fix it.
The Elventh tardis ignores wall blocks in the seed and makes the walls the light grey wool, if you use theme it works just fine. This may be by design, I dunno.
In reply to Tarluin:
Wall blocks are technically orange wool in the schematic files, so the light gray walls are not set for the eleventh console like the other ones are
