Downloads
I'm too lazy to upload TARDIS files to Bukkit anymore, as builds are automatically created when the plugin is updated and changes pushed to GitHub.
Version specific downloads can be found here: https://tardis.pages.dev/download
Please make sure you are using the latest Spigot/Paper builds (for the Minecraft version you are running) before installing TARDIS or creating an issue!
What it does
TARDIS is a plugin that gives you the ability to create a Police Box that lets you time travel (teleport) to random locations. It adds a Whovian twist to the typical /sethome and /home commands.
As a player, you can:
- Create a TARDIS that is bigger on the inside.
- Time travel to a random location.
- Time travel back home (where you created the TARDIS initially).
- Save and list interesting time travel locations, so you can return to them easily.
- Take companions with you when you time travel.
- Make your TARDIS blend in with the Chameleon Circuit.
- Use your own schematic to build the TARDIS interior
- Grow new TARDIS rooms
- Use Artron Energy
- Remote control the TARDIS
- Custom TARDIS sounds with companion Resource Pack
- Custom TARDIS textures with companion Resource Pack

Installation
As a minimum, just drop the TARDIS.jar, TARDISChunkGenerator.jar (look under Additional Files on the download page) and any optional plugins listed below into the Bukkit plugins folder and start your server. For more detailed instructions see: https://tardis.pages.dev/installation-v5
Optional installs
These are not needed for TARDIS to function, but enhance the plugin with extra features...
- Install the TARDIS-SoundResourcePack in the Minecraft client to hear custom TARDIS sounds
- Install the TARDIS-Resource-Pack to see aal the fancy textures and models (requires TARDIS v4.2 or higher).
- Install the TARDISChunkGenerator plugin so that you can generate TARDISes in their own self-contained world (included on the TARDIS plugin download page under Additional files).
- Install WorldGuard to automatically protect your TARDIS from griefing, and stop mobs spawning in TARDIS worlds.
- Install TARDISWeepingAngels to add some Whovian mobs to the game.
- Install a Permissions plugin, so that you can restrict or grant players the rights to use TARDIS’ different features. We like PermissionsBukkit.

Bugs / Requests
Please post a ticket for TARDIS plugin requests and bugs, thank you :)
WARNING: I am no longer prepared to waste my time looking at incomplete tickets. If your ticket does not follow the guidelines set out below, it will be deleted immediately!
Make sure you have read the FAQs first, as your question may already be answered there. Also make sure you have searched for a previous ticket with the same/similar issue (use the Filters to search closed tickets).
If you are going to create a BUG ticket you need to supply relevant information (as I'm not a mind reader, nor do I have access to your server...) - as a minimum you need:
- Exact CraftBukkit version i.e. NOT 'the latest' - use the
/tardis version
command if possible, otherwise copy from server log - Exact TARDIS version i.e. NOT 'the latest' - use the
/tardis version
command if possible, otherwise copy from server log - The server log showing the entire error (as a paste or at Pastebin - NOT a screenshot) - this should be the log from when the server starts up right through to when the error occurs
- If no error in the log, then a video of the bug happening or the EXACT steps needed to reproduce the issue.
- Attach your plugins/TARDIS/config.yml file or other configuration file if relevant
- Attach your plugins/TARDIS/TARDIS.db file if relevant
- List of other plugins on server
Stats
Basic statistics are collected for some versions of the TARDIS plugin (v2.5.8 and earlier). You can opt out at any time by setting opt-out: true
in plugins/PluginMetrics/config.yml
External web access
Version 2.8 (and higher) of this plugin includes a translation feature (the /tardissay
command) that connects to the Lingva translation service.
You can prevent players from using the command by removing / not giving them the permission tardis.translate
TARDIS v2.0 Tutorial - Part 3 - Rooms
@dandubois89
Well if you don't have fuel for tardis then traveling and creating rooms will be impossible also just create a public recharge station with a recharger beacon. If traveling home would be free that can be exploited.
So the version you sent me can't, right?
@GervaisJohn
I was just about to upload a video about room growing but vimeo has suspended my account cause they think I'm a spammer (I only have about 6 TARDIS videos there)...
I would stick with 1.9.4 for a bit longer, as version 2.0 is still in beta.
Version 1.9.4
How does it grow rooms? Does it randomly make more rooms?
@GervaisJohn
Version 1.9.3 is not yet compatible with 1.4.7 as the CraftBukkit package names have changed with the new version. Have been concentrating on getting the version 2.0 beta out, but will do a quick fix now...
I am OP. I use fragnet if you know how to use it I would trust you with the password.
Bukkit is 1.4.7. I have Bukkit Permissions that comes with Essentials. I just hit the download button then the Download again for the TARDIS.
@GervaisJohn
What permissions do you have? Are you an op? Bukkit version? TARDIS version?
/tardis doesnt do anything for me. It doesn't even tell me that it isn't a command. Just null. Any ideas?
For some reason it doesn't work for me. The only command I can use is /helptardis and I can't even build one by placing the blocks. Any way you can help?
I was "expirmenting" with TNT spheres and blew up a chunk of my world. I restored just the main world file from a backup and now I get a crash. here is the crash log.
I don't mind if its difficult for people to be able to charge their Tardis, as I get a lot of new users joining just for the Tardis plugin, who wont mine for their own resources and annoy other players to give them the items to make a Tardis. 'I lost my key, can someone give me a redstone torch', going to get my Thor hammer out soon for those players....
Ability to go home without enough energy to go anywhere else would be good. There are about 25 Tardis's stranded at the moment, I did tell them it was a beta version and they need to wait for the documentation on the new features.
Looks great so far, I just have some feature requests/suggestions.
I know you havent done a writeup of all the features yet, so some may be implemented and I just dont know it.
Thanks!
@markdf
Ahh yes, didn't think about economy with the iron/gold/diamond blocks used for the beacon in the TARDIS, will make them unbreakable...
Ever since I started making plugins I've always wanted to have a caged charged creeper, now I have an excuse :)
@scrblue
I take it you don't have WorldGuard installed as this would prevent Endermen from spawning. Fair comment about the beds though, will think about alternatives, but the end is the most like space...
@DoktuhParadox
it probably should be from hitting the button, not the door
Just a little idea, could you make it so that the TARDIS world isn't in an end world because it doesn't allow placing of beds and it spawns way too many enderman.
@eccentricnz
I got an idea. It seems the TARDIS materialization (and sound) is triggered upon right clicking the door. Can there be a timer for that (a few seconds or de-mat. and a few seconds through the time vortex, then a few seconds for re-mat.)?
@eccentricnz
Will install asap, let you knnow any bugs I find.
