I'm too lazy to upload TARDIS files to Bukkit anymore, as builds are automatically created when the plugin is updated and changes pushed to GitHub.
Version specific downloads can be found here: https://tardis.pages.dev/download
Please make sure you are using the latest Spigot/Paper builds (for the Minecraft version you are running) before installing TARDIS or creating an issue!
What it does
TARDIS is a plugin that gives you the ability to create a Police Box that lets you time travel (teleport) to random locations. It adds a Whovian twist to the typical /sethome and /home commands.
As a player, you can:
- Create a TARDIS that is bigger on the inside.
- Time travel to a random location.
- Time travel back home (where you created the TARDIS initially).
- Save and list interesting time travel locations, so you can return to them easily.
- Take companions with you when you time travel.
- Make your TARDIS blend in with the Chameleon Circuit.
- Use your own schematic to build the TARDIS interior
- Grow new TARDIS rooms
- Use Artron Energy
- Remote control the TARDIS
- Custom TARDIS sounds with companion Resource Pack
- Custom TARDIS textures with companion Resource Pack

Installation
As a minimum, just drop the TARDIS.jar, TARDISChunkGenerator.jar (look under Additional Files on the download page) and any optional plugins listed below into the Bukkit plugins folder and start your server. For more detailed instructions see: https://tardis.pages.dev/installation-v5
Optional installs
These are not needed for TARDIS to function, but enhance the plugin with extra features...
- Install the TARDIS-SoundResourcePack in the Minecraft client to hear custom TARDIS sounds
- Install the TARDIS-Resource-Pack to see aal the fancy textures and models (requires TARDIS v4.2 or higher).
- Install the TARDISChunkGenerator plugin so that you can generate TARDISes in their own self-contained world (included on the TARDIS plugin download page under Additional files).
- Install WorldGuard to automatically protect your TARDIS from griefing, and stop mobs spawning in TARDIS worlds.
- Install TARDISWeepingAngels to add some Whovian mobs to the game.
- Install a Permissions plugin, so that you can restrict or grant players the rights to use TARDIS’ different features. We like PermissionsBukkit.

Bugs / Requests
Please post a ticket for TARDIS plugin requests and bugs, thank you :)
WARNING: I am no longer prepared to waste my time looking at incomplete tickets. If your ticket does not follow the guidelines set out below, it will be deleted immediately!
Make sure you have read the FAQs first, as your question may already be answered there. Also make sure you have searched for a previous ticket with the same/similar issue (use the Filters to search closed tickets).
If you are going to create a BUG ticket you need to supply relevant information (as I'm not a mind reader, nor do I have access to your server...) - as a minimum you need:
- Exact CraftBukkit version i.e. NOT 'the latest' - use the
/tardis version
command if possible, otherwise copy from server log - Exact TARDIS version i.e. NOT 'the latest' - use the
/tardis version
command if possible, otherwise copy from server log - The server log showing the entire error (as a paste or at Pastebin - NOT a screenshot) - this should be the log from when the server starts up right through to when the error occurs
- If no error in the log, then a video of the bug happening or the EXACT steps needed to reproduce the issue.
- Attach your plugins/TARDIS/config.yml file or other configuration file if relevant
- Attach your plugins/TARDIS/TARDIS.db file if relevant
- List of other plugins on server
Stats
Basic statistics are collected for some versions of the TARDIS plugin (v2.5.8 and earlier). You can opt out at any time by setting opt-out: true
in plugins/PluginMetrics/config.yml
External web access
Version 2.8 (and higher) of this plugin includes a translation feature (the /tardissay
command) that connects to the Lingva translation service.
You can prevent players from using the command by removing / not giving them the permission tardis.translate
@eccentricnz
I have 1..4.5 r1 my tardis is 1.8.6 and I use PermissionsEx. I am a noob with permissions though, I have no clue to how they work or what the format I should use
@sabotsailor
You'll need to provide some more info... CraftBukkit version, other plugins, TARDIS version and config, what permissions plugin do you use, what permissions do you have, any errors in the console...
Whenever I try to travel in my Tardis, it tells me that I am not a Timelord or I am not in my Tardis. How do I fix that?
@elahrairah
Due to the way that Bukkit now compiles CraftBukkit any plugin that uses calls to net.minecraft.server or org.bukkit.craftbukkit will break with each minecraft update - this includes TARDIS.
Therefore there is not yet a TARDIS build that is compatible with 1.4.6, you'll have to wait until I've built one, though as of last night (my time) there wasn't even a CB 1.4.6 build to use to do it.
Very nice Plugin.. :) .. REALLY!
It's worst that i have 2 say that it is not working properly for new server 1.4.6-R0.1
happens when getting in/out tardis.

and i cannot use "tardistravel" anymore. Becomming error: Not a TimeLord or not inside the Tardis. Permissions are set.
the wait for the new version to be approved is killing me! update to RB wasn't kind to 1.8.6
Have uploaded version 1.8.7 which is compatible with CraftBukkit recommended build 1.4.5-R1.0. As there are some major changes to the package names in this build -
DO NOT UPGRADE unless your server is running the recommended build!
You have been warned, I will not respond to errors such as NoSuchMethodException or ClassNotFoundException if you have upgraded TARDIS without upgrading CraftBukkit.
@crazyivandefrag
Will add this to the todo list...
Any chance of getting each size tardis in a permission, to limit the sizes? so i can make say... normal users only access the small tardis (own a small one) while vip's get the next one up, and so forth...?
@wasmon00
Normally this would mean that it can't find the database record for your TARDIS - it searches by looking for your player username, you get the message because it can't find your name.
Try TerceptMMC's suggestion...
@wasmon00
You can always use the /tardisadmin delete playername command.
hey when I try to delete my tardis (breaking the sign "polce box") it says "hey! dont grief the tardis" so what should I do
@TerceptMMC
Thanks for the Towny suggestions.
/tardis remove
is a valid command (used for removing companions), didn't realise it was broken though! Will look into it...@eccentricnz
More collision detection would be nice. Prevent landing on anything the player doesn't own them self in Towny would be best. Don't allow the TARDIS to land in an area where it will need to remove blocks. One test I did with the /tardis comehere landed the TARDIS inside the building removing a chestshop sign a stuff like that. It replaced the blocks but ruined the shop sign (This was in WG region. not towny).
I do suggest some better error handling. I have players constantly testing TARDIS with some commands that don't exist and it throws severe exceptions (/tardis remove is one commands).
Don't allow the TARDIS interior to be constructed under the town property.
Those are my suggestions for now. Thanks for being so active and helpful.
@TerceptMMC
I'm not sure at this stage, as having never used it I know nothing about Towny...
I imagine disallowing landing in other people's plots?
I'm open to suggestions :)
@eccentricnz
Fixed it this time. Thanks a lot. What compatibility is planned for Towny if I may ask?
@TerceptMMC
set:
include_default_world: true
in config and try that
@TerceptMMC
Still getting the errors. I tried changing the default world name and everything. This is the config as of now.
@eccentricnz
Thanks!
@TerceptMMC
I think this is happening because in the config file, the
default_world_name
isworld
, butuse_default_world
isfalse
You'll need to change it to something other than world, run the command:
/tardisadmin default_world_name some_name_here
Will put a bug fix in next release :)
