Simple Backup
Simple backup
Works with 1.10.x and up
If you have any problems with the plugin not working leave a comment!
What can I use this for?
Simple Backup is a plugin to zip up your minecraft server worlds to a folder so you can:
- Let your users download them via file sharing websites such as mediafire
- Roll back your map
Commands:
- /sbackup - Force a backup of your world by running. Can only be ran by OPs or from the server console.
Providing error reports:
When pasting large amounts of text please use http:pastebin.com or http:dev.bukkit.org/paste/. They are completely free and makes it easier for me to read any error messages you provide.
Also provide your SimpleBackup config file and the version of the plugin you are using, when stating you have a problem, so I can see if that's the problem instead.
Configuring:
Click here for an explanation of how to configure this plugin.
Rolling Back Maps:
Click here for how to roll back your maps.
Updates:
This plugin is generally updated when a significant change (new features or bugfixes) has been made to it. The plugin uses only a small number of very basic Bukkit API calls, so it most probably won't break on Bukkit updates. If it does break, we'll update it as soon as possible.
Want to help me out?
You can donate to Simple Backup if you love the plugin to bits and want to show me some support by clicking the donate button in the top right! Don't want to or can't donate?, then just leave a comment showing me support instead.
Thanks for any support you give me, and enjoy simple backup!

@Tombikos No updates yet, waiting for a reccomended build of bukkit.
@hawkfalcon Can you post your config file for me please, and what normally happens before that error occurs?
Sorry for the late replies, had some important real world stuff to deal with.
And again...Dx why???
It did it again.
Hmmm... every now and then when it runs, it gives me this error: http://dev.bukkit.org/paste/4951/
Any updates? :)
@hawkfalcon Thanks for bringing this to my attention, I would have never realized this.
I looked into it and discovered its actually using the day of the year, instead of day of the month. You can fix this by going into the config file and changing the "DD" in "backup-date-format:" to "dd".
e.g. backup-date-format: yyyy-MM-dd-hh-mm-ss. For reference please check this picture for what you can use with the backup-date-format. It is case sensitive.

I will upload a new version with the latest build of bukkit and this problem fixed.
This works great, except it calls today the 72nd of march..?
@EszesBence92
Did a quick recompile with #2015 dev release, seems to work, its the same as the current build though, so no new features yet. Look forward to them soon.
PLS UPDATE for 1.2
What I'm finding I need more than anything is a scheduler that will let me run it at a specific time of day. Like 3:30am.
But you know, zipping when server is running is making processor to work so hard that i limit other servers (on VPS).
@Tombikos
Funnily enough i've been working on this but not disabling zipping, shouldn't be too hard to add it in though :). These features will hopefully be in the next update.
@Tombikos
I need that too :)
@Tombikos
I second that! ;)
Hi i love your plugin and your interest about people's suggestion. I need two thing: disabling zipping and maximum backups (like it will keep just last 5 backups for example).
Thank you a lot :)
Thanks.
and a function to backup only changed chunks would be great, it backups the whole map everytime and that cost a lot of space
@gnorbsl
I added this in with the new update for Bukkit R4, it just needs approval. Command is /sbackup and cant be ran from the console, only by opped players.
Is there a command to start a manual Backup?
@madjack0003
It doesn't actually delete old backups, but I can work on it for you and ill add in an option to toggle deletion of old maps and the amount of days before deletion
How many backups does it store before deleting the oldest ones? Maybe an option to set the amount?
