Runecraft
Runecraft is a gameplay modification for SMP, that adds magic to the game without any commands. Runecraft is the longest running Minecraft mod, dating back to the Alpha days. Runecraft boasts over 120 runes and is still under active development. Everything you need in one, immersive, magic plugin.
Magic is done through the form of "runes", significant shapes of materials laid out in the actual game world. These runes can create unique short-term tool enchants, teleporters, hidden walls/passageways, and even the ability to create mobile teleporting bases.
- Player built simple Teleporters that use unique combinations of blocks to identify destinations
- Specific enchantments for dealing with natural hazards (lava, floods, falling gravel)
- Magic blocks that flip between two blocks when you activate them, or reveal secret passages
- Redstone compatibility: allowing runes to be activated by redstone signals
- Multi-world support: all features are completely compatible with multiple-world servers
- Commandless setup: Runecraft is designed for minimum hassle in configuring it. plugin and go!
- Easy configuration: it's simple to disable a rune entirely, or a rune per person.
- Optional permissions compatibility
- Requires no client modification
Runecraft prides itself on its immersive nature, with no need for any slash commands. Everything can be done in-game by players, constructing the runes to create the effects they're looking for. Runecraft is an extremely popular addon for roleplay, PVP, and small servers because of it's out of the box ability to just be installed and start running, and covering a variety of pseudo-administrative and gameplay mechanics from an entirely in game point of view.

Having an issue where a block that used to be an Engraver repeatedly gives the message "Engraver has been removed because all tools auto-engrave now." The message also usually fires twice in a row. Breaking the block (even with a sword) did nothing; the behavior persists as if nothing happened, and any block can be put in the same place and will exhibit the same behavior. Did not attempt to use a dispel rune, due to other rune-imbued blocks being nearby and not wanting to have to recreate them. In addition, attempting to interact with any block adjacent to an identifier (at least, one created before RC 3.0; untested on newly created ones; unsure if this is even relevant) will fail, e.g. gates/doors/trapdoors do not open, levers do not switch, enchantment tables and furnaces can't be accessed, and no blocks of any kind can be broken.
@jonathanware
Most likely if it does not have Runecraft lore, it is not us. If you would like to contact me and figure this out, I would be more than willing to help you out! :)
So we just updated to RC3 and I'm loving everything so far! It's so fun to learn new stuff. I'm not sure if it's Runecraft related but my diamond picks don't work on anything. The block immediately comes back. Has anybody else experienced this bug?
@Rediac
Awesome! Just added you to the Runecraft Wiki as one of the servers! :)
Players on minecraftOmega are fiddling with Runecraft3 now! Definitely some cool new stuff to play with.
Kudos to the dev team!

EDIT:
Runecraft was not working when we first updated, Rivkiin logged on and talked me through several things for a fix. Very patient and courteous, an example of the awesome team working on an awesome plugin!
Hey! Anyone out there with a Runecraft server, please post your server IP/website here! We will see about adding it to the Runecraft wiki! The more the merrier! :D
@KogenTheK
Should be out already.
Edit: There is also a document link on what is new on it.
@Rivkiin
When is your estimate for when it will come out and what will be new in it?
Runecraft 3.0 is currently in process of getting approved. Should be up soon. Please make a ticket if you see anything wrong with it! :)
@Tenket
Redemption works on 3.0 which will be released in about a week!
This is one of my absolute favorite plugins. Once the redemption run works again I will have my complete set of tools working and I will never look back to other versions of minecraft. <3
@chrischiefxxx
Runecraft is going great, in fact we are finalizing some bug fixes to release very soon!
It's always awesome to see people interested in Runecraft, if you have any suggestions please do tell us!
So is it ok for me to ask how the plugin is going? cause i keep checking this page and there's no updates on its status. It just says the same old complications problem which i was disappointed to hear because i really like the plugin. :<
Due to current complications with the energy system, we cannot release today. The bug is major in that it causes player energies to be completely null. This means that players in play testing have not been able to use runes or even teleport, as it all runs off energy. We hope to have this fixed ASAP and will release when it is finished. We hope you all have a great day and we will inform you when this is finished! :D
@mm75
Delete the magic.dat and waypoints_magic.dat in the main world folder.
If I want to delete all (like a file from a server, not using a dispel rune) runecraft data (like faith islands, phase blocks, automation, tools, etc) from a world, how do I do this?
EDIT: Nevermind, deleting magic.dat does this
@mm75
:D It should be really good!
@Rivkiin
Awesome, cant wait :D
@mm75
August 15th is the set release date. We should be done on the 31st, then it will be 15 days of play testing on the Official Runecraft server, then we will be releasing it. :)
@Rivkiin
nice!
ETA?
