Open MineZ
Open MineZ
OpenMZ is a open-source recreation of the famous ShotBow gamemode MineZ. (check it out at play.shotbow.net; great community, great players, great map). With OpenMZ you can turn your server into a Minecraft - DayZ hybrid. In its current state, it adds all the features of Shotbow's MineZ plus much more.
OpenMZ provides the majority of plugin capabilities to create a full clone of MineZ (except the map, of course). However, it also comes with a multitude of customization settings to make it your own.
Download Beta 6 (when its approved) here
A semi-complete, though not extensive, feature list is as follows:
Loot Chests
Chests can be configured, loaded, saved, placed, and destroyed all from inside the game. Specify different chest templates, all with their own item probabilities, durability probabilities, loot amounts, and zombie spawn settings.
Zombies
Zombies are faster, stronger, and smarter in OMZ. It takes the MineZ typical zombie AI and improves upon it. Zombie hordes will tell their brethren about a potential target, and move faster than usual without the choppy MineZ zombie movement.
Player Zombies
Instead of dropping their loot, players succumb to the Zombie disease. Their corpse must be killed again to get their loot.
Max Item Stacks
Configure the max amount of each item can be in a stack all from one file.
Custom Items
OpenMZ provides an easily-extendable custom item interface that allows you to create your own legendary items (developers only)
Bleeding
Every time a player takes damage, there is a small (configurable) chance that they will start bleeding, which is only cured by use of a bandage. Every time they bleed to take a configurable amount of damage.
Thirst
Players lose thirst over time (represented by their XP level). They must drink from a water bottle in order to regain thirst to the max amount.
Disease
Zombies have a low chance to give a player their disease. This disease requires drinking an antidote and deals damage over time.
Configurable
All of OMZ is designed to be configurable and extendable. A custom item system is planned to allow other developers to create complex new items. Even the messages sent to the players can be configured. Simply type */omz config* to get an interactive, clickable menu.
@GewoonMarcel
I noticed this too. So I went in to the config files in my server and edited it that way. You can also look in the pages section at the outdated help section as that has 1.6.4 help there. http://dev.bukkit.org/bukkit-plugins/open-minez/pages/outdated/
i put the 1.6.4 file into my server and i see that the zombies are stronger and faster but if i type /help omz or /omz help then no commands are comming up and i cat find bandage e.t.c can someone help me with this??
Sweet, thanks for the update FelonFalcon. I sorted out my chest problem. There were a few odd characters in there and it was screwing with it :P
@lilcuz55
Do "/omz config" then click useful commands -> items.
What are bandages? Because I've tried paper and that is usually what bandages are used as is "paper" Please tell me what it is
@naturlichLv
You need to watch some videos on how to run a server. OpenMZ is only a plugin that goes in to your plugins folder of your server. Craftbukkit is the server software it's self which goes into a jar folder.
Hi, do you can help me? I dont know how to start server, i downloaded openmz and protocolib. I used bukkit code for starter.bat, but server is saying: no main manifest attribute, in craftbukkit.jar ===> I renamed openmz jar to craftbukkit.jar
Hey all,
I just submitted version 5 for moderation. When it's accepted, you should find a lot of the bugs you've all reported have been fixed.
@FelonFalcon
Ok, problem again, I've put some 1.6 chests in there (The ones that come with the plugin) and now all of the chests are no longer showing up. Even the ones that I made in game.
@frol1
could just be a temporary error - restart your sever and it would figure itself out. The plugin only loads as many chests as is in that folder.
@FelonFalcon
:P Sweet, I lokked in there before but nothing was showing up. Oddly enough only one of the chests were showing up.
@frol1
woops! That's my bad, haha.
Go to your bukkit folder, plugins/openminez/chests. They're all there. Delete them there and they'll stop showing up (make sure your server is saved and shut down).
Ok I have fixed my spawn issue. Chests are sort of fixed.
There is no message to say that you have saved the chest when you click "Save" So I have like 30 of the same chest. where are they stored so I can delete them?
Hey I have been attempting to create chests but I made an error in one, I cannot find where to delete them.
I seem to be experiencing something odd. The spawn points I set didn't seem to save.
Im using 1.7, Beta and proto 3.1 Oh also my chest templates arn't showing up too.
@Weasels30
I'll add options for blood and zombie pigmen health right now. Thanks for the reminder.
As for giants...I might add them in this version. We'll see.
Heya falcon, I have a request for your plugin. I am really liking this and It's by far the most accurate plugin for minez. Is there any possible way to add the custom Giant's AI? To where it may stomp when you hit and when you do hit it, a zombie falls from the giant with a low chance of it dropping pigmen?
Also is there anyway you can make the pigmen only spawn with 1/2 a heart like in Minez? If so then that would be great as well. If you're up for it, you could also add the particles that the minez zombies have when you hit them.
Thanks for your time, I hope you'll give these suggestions some thought.
I really need some help with the zombie focus thing. I don't understand this even with the help site.
I'm using Beta 4 but i'm getting a error like in Beta 3. When i reload/restart the server, my Omz spawn isn't saved. How can i fix this?
There were no errors it just said [OpenMineZ] Starting up and for some mysterious it works now... but thanks anyway.
