About MV2
Multiverse was created at the dawn of Bukkit multiworld support. It has since then grown into a complete world management solution including special treatment of your nether worlds with NetherPortals.
In the second delivery of Multiverse, we've broken it up into several smaller plugins that are each feature packed but *not bloated*! Multiverse provides the easiest to use world management solution for your Minecraft server, big or small, and with great addons like Portals and NetherPortals, what's not to love!
Multiverse is back! Is your server, a Multiverse?
Multiverse-NetherPortals Features
- Allow a nether per real world!
- Let nether portals built in a world go to a specific world
- Custom World Scaling when using NetherPortals! (All types of worlds, normal, skylands and nether supported! Even Custom generators!)
So long Awesome Builds
We use to have this notion of an "Awesome Build" or AB which was suppose to be thought of like Bukkit's Recommended Build system. Awesome Builds were ones that we put extra testing into and were meant to be very stable. Unfortunately there will be no more Awesome Builds. Our development team doesn't have the time to devote to the project that we use to. As such, we've moved to a new build system which you'll notice in the new version numbering. Our release builds here should be stable; Lots of people have had time to vet them for us while they were only development builds. While we don't have much time to work on the project, we do still take critical bugs very seriously and try to get them fixed as quickly as possible.
@Zenka2
I second that. I would like each nether portal to have it's own corresponding portal in the nether with separate locations. Isn't that the default behavior?
I am having precisely the same issue as GaseousMaximus previously did. Players can go through a portal once or twice fine, but then start to get thrown out on the nether side. Relogging fixes the issue briefly. I'm receiving a player moved wrongly console error for some of these. This issue occurs only with nether portals.

yea is the new update here soon? i really need it ;)
where is the 1.2.5 update ? :/
I have 2 worlds. World 1 has a portal to the World1_nether and World2 has a portal to World2_nether now in world 2 i can teleport back and forth between the world and the nether but in world1 i can go to the nether but not teleport back through the netherportal. How do I fix this?
I absolutely love this plugin!! ..But I have run into a problem that I am hoping someone will have the answer to.
I run a multiworld server, along with Per-world permissions. Here is my problem.
In world A player can use /time day. In world B player cannot use /time day.
However, player can go into world A and issue a /time day for World B. Does anyone know how to keep commands "within the respective world only?"
The other multiverse plugins works as a charm, but this doesn't work at all for me.
Nether only works in the main worlds, in other world the rest of the portals doesn't seem to work properly at all. I'm in need of netherportals for warzone specifically, and I need those to work individually and not all connect to 1 netherportal when going back. Also having this plugin breaks all the other configurated portals (non-nether ones) because they bounce people back saying theres no destination (fixed by killing the portal mass inside, but now my portals are just circles of ugly obsidian). Most of the times when having multiple portals sometimes they only work 1 way or doesn't work at all just bouncing people back.
Will this be fixed?
@Pandamatak
This is possible, just check the wiki for how to create links between worlds and nether worlds.
@GaseousMaximus
In response to a player walking into a portal that has no destination or walking into a portal block (90) it bounces them back which may be why you get the moved wrongly error.
Is it possible to make it so that there is only one nether for all the words put together? So that any nether portal from any world goes to the same nether?
What I want to do is make it so that if you go to the nether through one world, then going back through the portal (from the nether) will take you back to the world you came from. Is this possible?
@Hangar
Access permissions for nether portal? I dont see that anywhere in the documentation. The manually created portals via MV-Portals, yes, and they work smashingly well! :D
My issue is with the player created, obsidian, "set-it-on-fire-and-it-makes-a-cool-vanilla-looking-nethergate" portals that let me through a time or two, then eject me forcibly until I log out, then back in. Then it lets me make one more pass, and starts ejecting again.
World permissions are all good to go. Please help me out here. This is getting old FAST with the log out/in repeats.
NEW: Now that I have updated tonight to the first 1.2.4 recommended build of craft bukkit, I'm getting an error in my server console:
-----------2012-03-29 01:04:31 [INFO] Got position 231.57475962533277, 45.200000047683716, 222.764483380883

2012-03-29 01:04:35 [WARNING] gaseousmaximus moved wrongly!
-----------This topic has arisen in the part, but the solutions were conflicting each other. And none of them work for me.
When I have multiple netherportals in the same world they all lead to the same exit portal in the nether. And the single Netherportal in the nether will exit in the first portal made in the World.
Presumably I will get different exit portals in the nether when I will place the portals in the world further then 1024 blocks apart. But as far as I can discover this vanilla behavior should be overwritten by Mutliverse-netherportals.
I want to be able to create multiple Netherportals in the same world and each have their own exit portal to the nether, regardless of the distance between each other.
Using:
On the up side. Multiverse is running very well on the new version of CB :)
@GaseousMaximus
Did you give access permissions?
I am getting the "This Portal Goes Nowhere" and I get jettisoned like space garbage! If there is a wall, I take damage.
If I log out, then back in, with no server restart, I can use the portal once, round trip, then it's back to jettisoning again.
The fact I'm using everything successfully for a trip there AND back, THEN it acts up, makes me think I have my configs and settings correct, or nothing would work at all. This started when I updated to minecraft1.2, and still continues after updating to the dev builds of multiverse (core/portals/netherportals).
I'm getting no errors anywhere. Please tell me there is a setting I didnt check.
I previously had a nether world on my server, but after I installed this it for some reason generated a new nether. How do I get my old nether back, and get it working with this plugin?
Everyone just try the Dev builds. They work fine in 1.2, so they should work in 1.6
@GeneralShep
We need a R6 Update for this to be fixed. Hasn't been an update in nearly a month though.
Maybe someone can fix this for us? I'm using the R6 build of "Multiverse-Core" found in the comments on the Multiverse-Core page
Im getting this error
