MehGravity
Information
(Thanks SinSeeker for the image!)
Introduction
This is a massive change of how minecraft physics works. Floating blocks? None. Everything falls down, entirely intact.
For example, try chopping a tree with this:
If the tree isn't connected to the world it will fall down and suffocate you with its leaves. Another example is a player building a huge 1*1 dirt pillar. Tired of those? Just stand on the ground and smash it down!
There are many, many more uses for this plugin just waiting around the corner to be explored. (Tip: Redstone)
(Short) This plugin checks if a collection of blocks that is not over the block limit(default 2000 blocks) isn't connected to the world/bedrock, and will then move it as far down as it can.
What if I have built my whole base on a big floating island?
No problem. As long as the block count of the floating island is over 2000 blocks(two 10*10*10 cubes) it won't fall down. (Configurable value)
What's the point of this plugin?
Minecraft is quite boring with floating blocks, don't you think?
Information
This is a very CPU intensive plugin as it has to check for structures that can fall down every time a player modifies the world. It's not a problem as long as you have a powerful server, and you could even raise the block limit alot.
Current permission nodes: "mehgravity.nocheck": Won't check gravity for that player. Current commands: None.
Metrics
This plugin is using Metrics which means that this plugin collects data about your server configuration. Currently it collects the default Metrics data:
- How many servers are running this plugin
- How many players there are total on the servers
- Your server's Java version
- Your server's operating system
- The amount of cores in your server's cpu
- Metrics version data
All of which can be viewed to the public here: http://metrics.griefcraft.com/plugin/mehgravity
Note: You can easily disable Metrics by setting "useMetrics" to "false" in the config.
Hi , This plugin is awesome but when i build a ship and i delete a block it got go down even im the owner of the server :(
I have successfully implemented a way to make certain blocks not able to stick to other materials, for example, making sponge not being able to stick to anything but itself. This is probably very buggy at the moment, I'm trying to find&fix bugs like crazy.
@predawnia
That's a bit problematic, as you can't have two plugins both trying to control gravity at the same time.
@therealgustav9797
It is at http://dev.bukkit.org/bukkit-plugins/fun-hard-mode/
It has a feature which allows other blocks to be affected by gravity, like sand.
Currently with MehGravity 1.7.3, even sand disappears when they fall down.
@predawnia
I've never heard of that plugin, but I think I know what causes it, I'll take a look.
I'm going to go deep into MehGravity and try to make some nice features. Probably supporting-points where X blocks away from the supporting pillar will fall down. If you have any suggestions, I'm happy to read them :)
@therealgustav9797
GravityMeh (v.16) used to work in co-existant with Extra Hard Mode plugin
now with v.1.7.x when the Falling blocks from EHM falls, they just disappear. Poof.
Reminder: If you have lots of problems with blocks not keeping data as they fall(example signs loosing text), throw me a PM. Those problems have been solved in version 1.7.3 which isn't approved yet.
That gif looks pretty cool. Some cool stuff can probably be made with this.
@to175
I have updated the IP in the description now. The best way to check if it's too heavy(Which I guess it isn't) is to test it on your own server with your amount of players. If you think it lags too much, decrease the block limit.
Hi, I would like to test on a server. And what is the consomation ? Im afraid that this plugin is very heavy !!!
@to175
Oops. I'll remove that. The official server has moved to a different IP where it acts like a zombie arena server using MehGravity, quite not the same.
@GreenGrizzlyBear
I'm not sure what you mean, but all blocks not connected to the world will fall down. All blocks can fall except those you specify in the config (staticBlocks)
What about mining down and across, down and across?
And stair cases and such? Will they be forced down? Or just certain blocks?
The official server can NOT be joined at 37.187.56.47:25560
@Bammerbom
This has been fixed in version 1.7.3 (Not yet approved).
Changelog:
@FEARcustard
Ever think he's not english? English isn't everyone's best/first language.
@Bammerbom
Signs won't are not holding text when falling.
There are so so so SO many things Wrong with what you just said there.
(Won't are not holding) Does not make any sense how ever you try to say it.
I think you need to learn English a little more before posting a comment.
@Bammerbom
When trying to find the reason for that happening, I was surprised with a load of code that I thought was used, but it didn't even run. I'm going to look into this further.
Bug: Signs won't are not holding text when falling.
Oh Yay ! Thank you again !
@limiteur
Yay! Approved!
