Giants That Spawn Naturally
This plugin takes direct inspiration from FatMarleys' plugin FatGiants, which in turn was inspired by NaturalGiants. This plugin also takes inspiration from NodinChan's MobJockeys.
This plugin was originally written by rmh4209, continued on by pkt77, and is now in the hands of Mammothskier.
Features
The Giants Plugin can naturally spawn Giants that have 8 Configurable attack mechanisms Configurable Health, Experience, Drops, and Spawn in configurable Worlds and Biomes. “The worst thing you can say about homework is that it is too hard. The worst thing you can say about a game is it's too easy.”
Attack Mechanisms
Attack Descriptions
Attack Mechanisms | Description |
---|---|
Default | The default Minecraft Giant attack - if a player is inside the giants legs, the player will instantly die. |
Lightning Attack | When a giant targets an entity, that entity will be struck by lighning |
Thow Boulder Attack | When a player is 5-10 blocks away from a giant, there is a chance the giant will "Throw" a Fireball in the direction the giant is facing |
Stomp Attack | When a player gets close to a giant, there is a chance the giant will stomp the player |
Kick Attack | When a player gets close to a giant, there is a chance the giant will kick a player at a configurable height |
Fire Attack | When a giant targets an entity, that entity will get set on fire and so will the giant (configurable) |
Lava Attack | When a giant targets an entity, it can sets lava under that entity |
Poison Attack | When a player gets near a giant, there is a chance that it will poison the player |
Shrapnel Attack | When a giant targets a player, the giant will spawn zombies around the player (configurable) |
Spawn Zombies on Death | When a giant dies, a configurable amount of zombies will spawn in that location |

MC Stats
This plugin uses mcstats for stat collection. You can opt out of this by going into the plugin metrics folder and setting opt-out to true.
Has this been abandoned? There hasn't been updates in some time and the page here seems awfully dead.
There were bugs with some of the Giant mob options last I checked, and I know the Giant spawn rates are still acting oddly..

There is configurable health. Just look through the configuration folders.

Hello, im having a problem, I want just giant zombies to spawn and be bosses, but when I use a spawn egg to spawn a slime or magma cube and I kill it, it plays the dragon death sound and drops the default stone, even though I have magma cubes and slimes disabled in the config, I have slimes spawn in my mob arena and I don't want it playing the death sound and giving them stone or any item everytime they kill one. Thank you

Try the latest stable build. The drop syntax for that uses the itemcodes and not the actual item name. I don't know what b71 bleeding used. For some reason my computer won't let me push anything to that line of builds. :C
Can someone please explain the drop syntax to me... I have the following for my giants, i'm trying to set the giant to always drop a diamond when killed, but this doesn't seem to work.
Drops:
- DIAMOND-0-0|0|1|100/100

The current drop system is lacking much freedom at all. I will be uploading a new build here with a better drops system in the next few days. the way to configure the drops currently is available in the entities yml file. Goodluck :)

Hello bilybobby,
This plugin spawns them on its own just as if mojang kept them in the game! To configure the health, spawnrate, and attacks, there is a config folder inside the plugins folder on your server. To enable giant slimes and giant magmacubes, you must enable them in the config.yml.

So I don't have to spawn these on my own using a command correct? They naturally spawn in diffeernt locations? And where can I configure their health and attacks etc?
Is there a place to configure how rare they are?

Thanks for the suggestion Darunia18, I'll look into it.
Is it possible to make a setting to choose when giants can spawn (like day, night, or both)? I feel like this would be really useful, because right now, giants spawn in the middle of the day and the sun doesn't burn them (which seems like it'd be a nice setting option as well).
Other than this, I love your plugin! It's really great, and I wish Mojang would add other giant mobs so this plugin could be even better! :D

I turned it all the way down to 1000 and it still seems to have the same amount of health

Maybe don't try such a high number? I am not going to try testing it myself as there is nothing I can do to fix it if that is an issue. Also make sure you restart the server after changing health. :)
The giant's health wont change for me I made the health from 100 to 50,000 and it still took the same number of hits i need help asap great plugin otherwise
Edit: it seems that when i changed it to 999999999999 it was stronger, the health may only go up to 100 or 1000 if that is the case is there the possibility of making it stronger because i would like for it to be a boss almost

Hello. Ive tested giants with bloodmoon and it is working perfectly. Thank you very much.
I'm now testing your build #71, slimes and magmacubes are now disabled. Giants are working perfectly so far, they do destroy worldguard areas but creeperheal restore them. Thank you, I guess now I need to test it with bloodmoon.
