Extra Hard Mode
Extra Hard Mode changes the game rules to create NEW, INTERESTING CHALLENGES for players who have mastered the core game. Unlike Mojang's "hard" mode or other plugins' "hardcore" modes which just punish you more for making mistakes without actually changing game mechanics, Extra Hard Mode delivers interesting new challenges for advanced players.

Recommended Plugins
- Make tree logs and branches fall when chopped with GraviTree. Set "FallingLogsDamagePlayers" to true in its config for an extra challenge!
- For anti-grief, avoid plugins that disable explosions entirely, because that will undermine the cave-in mechanic and the new improved TNT.
- Avoid plugins which allow players to teleport themselves out of danger when they're in combat or lost. Especially avoid plugins which add commands like /home, /back, and /tpa, since they will undermine the difficulty VERY much. Consider instead a teleportation plugin like Population Density, which allows players to teleport only between teleportation posts it places on the surface every 400 blocks.
- You might want to look into balancing villagers. Having diamond gear tradable for very easily farmable materials will undermine the difficulty. I use Rebalance Villagers to make the trades harder.
Metrics
This plugin utilizes Hidendra's plugin metrics system, which means that the following information is collected and sent to mcstats.org:
- A unique identifier
- The server's version of Java
- Whether the server is in offline or online mode
- The plugin's version
- The server's version
- The OS version/name and architecture
- The core count for the CPU
- The number of players online
- The Metrics version
- Config options that are activated, allowing me to see what people use (or don't)
You can disable the stat collection via /plugins/PluginMetrics/config.yml if you wish. If you want to see the stats, you can go here

@Treijim
It doesn't use minecraft internal classes so it still works after updates.
Do you know if this is compatible with 1.7.9?
@BuildSmash
You can disable the tutorial messages showing in the scoreboard in messages.yml. You can completely disable them or choose tutorial only. They will show in the chat instead.Tutorial messages show only 3 times for every player. If you want to completely disable a message you can set it to mode: disabled.
Block falling physics + treefelling just broke with lastest spigot / Prism. I opened up a ticket.
Hello,
How can I disable:

this?
One of my players figured out how to use buckets to place water sources. He used a dispenser with a water bucket inside. When activated it placed the water block.
Edit: I was able to replicate this in game. Is there any way to fix this?
@Diemex
That sounds great. That's what I was trying to achieve, to simply set it back to default vanilla durability. However, I am not sure if the other guys have the same interest. Its still pretty cool to be able to define the durability value.
Also, I was trying to set it to 1500 durability if that matters.
Cheers~
@beanssprout
I'll look into it for the highe durability settings. I think there might be an issue when the durability setting is too high. What about adding a config for whitelisted tools that will not be subject to the hardened stone?
@croftcw
Limited Building: false
@Remanent
Not really anything I can think of. Also not really worthwhile, villages arent pieces of art in any case. For anything else you can use worldedit to convert cobblestone to double cobblestone slabs.
Is there a way to allow building while in the air again?
@8byteGaming
I am also interested on being able to define the durability. I got the similar results like you explained on your previous post.
I been using this plugin since BigScary started running his extra hard mode server. Both myself and my girlfriend were on there until it died out. Thank you for your time on maintaining this plugin Diemex.
is there a way to preserve villages as they're made out of cobblestone? first time using the mod, and went to put down a crafting table and the tower collapsed on me lol.
Thanks for the response Diemex. I have Mining: Inhibit Tunneling: true and - DIAMOND_PICKAXE@1562 but when you look at the durability per swing it goes down like 13 ish at a time.
Yah I hear what your saying but I was just wanting it to be harder in the beginning and might 1/2 the durability of iron and diamond or something. I'm running monster apocalypse also so the difficulty is already sky high.
@Intangir
I have already coded that last week with settings for every environmental damage and their accompanying damage multipliers. That version sadly has some issues with it's rewritten config system, which I have yet to look into.
can you make separate options for improved fall damage, and damage from things falling on your head, and suffocation? suffocation is extreme and sometimes you get bugged into things
i'd like to just leave suffocation off but i like the other environmental damages
@8byteGaming
If you set the values to vanilla values, then you might as well just disable the mining module. It's there to make branchmining harder. What have you put in your config?
Love the plugin, using it with monster apoc to add some really tough situations.
I'm trying to change the iron and diamond pickaxe to be the same durability as vanilla minecraft though. - DIAMOND_PICKAXE@1562 The plugin does not seem to recognize any input that is greater than the value set in the default configuration. Let me know if i'm doing anything wrong, thanks.
Nice plugin, love it!
Sweet, I look forward to testing it. If I might also add, custom stone mods tend to also come with corresponding custom cobblestone, and so if the config was setup so that you could easily link the two, e.g. when specifying the custom stone you also specify what it turns into when softened, that would be a nice feature.
@aikimiller
Atm this is not possible. This plugin was written at a time where there was no mcpc. I'm busy working on making ehm work better with modded servers. I added the custom stone blocks to my todo list of new configuration items.
I'm trying to make ehm work as good as possible on modded and specifically hexxit servers, as I want to play some hexxit with friends. So the next update is going to include a lot of new configuration allowing you to add custom blocks.
Really cool plugin.
I've been playing around adding the underground biomes mod to my server, which replaces the stone in world-gen with a variety of different types of stone. Now, I know you can add block-IDs to the config file to treat mod added blocks as ore, but how do I add a block ID to the config so that the mod treats it as stone? Is this possible?
