Faction Mobs
Command a mob army to fight for your team
Want some guards to defend your territory? Faction Mobs allows you to spawn mobs aligned to your team! They'll attack enemy players and monsters! You can even order your mobs around. Make them follow you or patrol an area.
Supports:
- Factions (Including Factions UUID)
- Towny
- SimpleClans
- Kingdoms
- Feudal
Mob Types:
There are 5 mob types:Swordsman
- Sword wielding
- Base class: Skeleton with sword
- Archer
- Bow wielding
- Base class: Skeleton with bow
- Mage
- Potion throwing
- Base class: Witch
- Titan
- Base class: Iron Golem
- SpiritBear
- Base class: Polar Bear
The swordsman and archer will equip full leather armor dyed to a color of your choice.
You can modify mob attributes in the config, and you may disable them selectively if you wish.
If Lib's Disguises is used, the swordsman, archer, and mage will use player skins.
Behavior:
Your faction mobs will automatically categorize any units it meets as enemy, friendly, or neutral.
Players and faction mobs from enemy factions will be considered enemies. If set in the options, hostile mobs will also be considered enemies, with the exception of the creeper, which it will never attack. Players and faction mobs from your own and allied factions will be considered friendly. All other units are neutral.
Your faction mobs will automatically attack hostile units. It will defend itself when attacked by neutral units. It will never attack friendly units.
Note that the Mage and Archer have some rather bad aim, and may accidentally attack friendly units. You can prevent damage from friendly fire by setting noFriendlyFire to true in the config.
The config file contains many options to set various attributes to the mobs. Please look through it.
Additional Information:
- Mobs still use their original AI, just slightly modified. This means they will use the same movement patterns when attacking as they normally do.
- I used some of the obfuscated functions from Craftbukkit. This means that the plugin will only work for the version it was released for.
- The mobs are saved in file separate from the rest of the world. If you change the name of your world, the faction mobs will not transfer with it.
- If your server is prone to crashing, it is recommended you turn on the autoSave function in the config file.
- This plugin utilizes Hidendra's plugin metrics system, which means that the following information is collected and sent to mcstats.org:
- A unique identifier
- The server's version of Java
- Whether the server is in offline or online mode
- The plugin's version
- The server's version
- The OS version/name and architecture
- The core count for the CPU
- The number of players online
- The Metrics version
- The Factions version
- Note to other devs: Faction Mobs custom entities have "CustomEntity" and "FactionMob" metadata tags
Reporting a Bug:
- Server type and version
- "Factions" plugin and version
- FactionMobs version
- error.log file if relevant
- Steps to reproduce the problem
Fan-Made Tutorial Video:
@MCJackJ
Check the startup log, there should be an error message. I recommend switching to Factions 2.2, since I have dropped support for Factions 1.6 and 1.8 and will no longer be releasing updates for those versions.
I am using Factions v1.6.9.5 and the FactionMobs version that works with my version of Factions, however none of the commands work. For example /fm spawn archer doesn't work. Any help? Thanks.

"After requests by several people, I have an experimental build which uses Towny instead of Factions. If you would like to test it for me, send me a PM."
@Victor9394
The reason I made the mobs ignore creepers is because the creepers will blow up in their face. Besides, you can tame cats and dogs without the use of my plugin.
This just sounds GREAT! People can hire guards for the faction!
I would like to suggest a few ideas 1) Add a respawn option, such mob shall respawn after certain minutes/hours 2) Possibly a number of lives it could respawn 3) Add dogs, dogs and golems is a nice combination 4) Add cats, to solve the ignore creeper issue
Towny Support, Towny has full API ;)
@IWouldLikeHelpPlease
I normally like to wait until CraftBukkit releases a beta or recommended build, but yes, I will be updating it soon.
Will this be updated to 1.6.4 soon? I need it for the launch of my server, which will happen soon :)

The Archer is a skeleton, the Swordsman is a pigzombie, and the Mage is a witch. Or at least that's what your kill command plugin will think.
I'm having an issue with faction mobs not being able to be killed by a kill command despite the following settings being false:
excludeFromKillCommands: false
runKeepAliveTask: false
Running Faction Mobs v2.6.1 on the latest Craftbukkit.
edit:
I'm still able to use kill on iron golems. Kill does not work on zombies and pigmen (haven't tested skeletons).
@jinglehimersmith
No, the villager model is unable to hold weapons or equip armor.
also is it possible to make them villagers?
@jinglehimersmith
No. Somebody has to set it.
Is it possible to make it so factions automatically get assigned a color? thanks
@Scyntrus: You've got a point... But anyways, it is still a nice plugin!
@OOOShockwaveOOO
No, that would be imbalanced. The point of this plugin was for you to lead your mobs into battle against enemy factions. If you could just send your mobs to attack other factions that would be rather "unfun" for both sides.
DUDE! This is exactly what i was lookin for!!!!!!!! I love it. I have a server of 6 persons, and every person has his own village as his territory. The thing is that you have enemies wich you will fight to earn ranks, money, XP. The problem was that they didn't had an army! And know everything is perfect. No missing plugins anymore. Really, thanks a lot man!
just an idea that came up in my mind. Can you make commands for your fmobs to give them orders to attack other factions? It's just a thought.
btw srry for english, i'm from Belgium :D
@Scyntrus
I m sad ;-(
@Scyntrus
Thx for doing it :D
@jubjubspartan
No. Instead, you could implement an economy plugin that periodically gives money (possibly via interest) to players, which allows them to spawn in new mobs every so often.
I have an idea to propose. Is it possible to respawn the soldiers with a timer after to be dead?
