EchoPet
Important information on this project in light of recent events.
Quote from DSH105:The forums have now been enabled and can be accessed via the navigation bar. More importantly, I'm interested in your input towards the new pet attacking AI to be implemented in EchoPet v3.
If EchoPet is not loading on your Spigot 1.8 build and your server is outputting "Skipping loading of EchoPet as it does not work with Spigot 1.8 builds!", please try running a later Spigot patch. I can't do anything about older Spigot releases blacklisting the plugin (preventing it from loading).
The future of this plugin is still being determined.
Development builds of this project can be acquired at the provided continuous integration server. These builds have not been approved by the BukkitDev staff. Use them at your own risk.

EchoPet comes with an auto-updater to save you, as a server owner, from continually checking this page for new files. It simply connects to dev.bukkit.org and compares the versions of available files. If you do not wish for EchoPet to perform this check, navigate to the Configuration File (config.yml) in the EchoPet directory of your plugins folder and change "checkForUpdates" and "autoUpdate" to "false". The first value disables the version comparison altogether and the second updates the plugin automatically if new files are detected.
Metrics is used to collect plugin statistics. Only data such as plugin version and players online is collected. If you do not wish for this data to be collected, disable it in the 'Plugin Metrics' folder of your 'plugins' directory.

Getting this on 1.5.1 Spigot. Pets follow you, but after i change pets with /pet pig the pet just stops following me
@primaryartemis
That is exactly what happened, unfortunately :\
@DSH105
Strange, I guess the teleporting and following must just not work right in 1.5.1 builds of bukkit then.
Why I wait on this I'll just enjoy the SparkTrail update :D
@primaryartemis
Believe it or not, LitePets used almost exactly the same follow system that EchoPet does (the main part anyway). And the pets should teleport when the player is more than 5 blocks away. Pets with mounts don't teleport though.
I am so glad you are making this plugin, I love your stuff!
However two notes, pets will not span in world guard regions that deny mob spawning, and secondly I notice the mobs meander a lot. There is a plugin called litepets that the author gave up on that seemed to have a really good follow system. It is open source so maybe it'd help you out. Also it'd be nice if the pets TPed since right now is a home command or such is used it seems the pet just hangs around where you left it.
Keep up the good work (:
Please add in the force baby option as previously suggested, that would be great!
hey found your plugin to be just what I was looking for, made a little video of it, I dont do plugin reviews just did it to show my players but I think you can use it if you want http://youtu.be/a0EFxEvUHGw thats the link if you want me to add more info under the description let me know
thanks for a nice simple plugin .
@Absolutionmc
They sure do.
Will pets despawn after the user logs out? When he logs in he has to use /pet again, right? I hope so, that way I can remove the permission to use it after certain time.
@QBcrusher
The whole idea of EchoPet was to create a donator perk that didn't require taming existing mobs. It was designed to be easy to gain pets, especially in worlds that disable mob spawning. Adding this would also be going against the original idea of realiez (he requested this plugin). If you want this functionality, you're going to have to look at MyPet, PetCreeper or another competitor plugin.
Could you make a way to tame them without spawning a new mob? Maybe make a spot in the config where you can set an item that you need to tame them
@rasnyderiii
I made a ticket about that. :D
[suggestion] config option to force all pets as "babies"
Looks awesome!
This is awesome, on my hub server for testing then it will go live! :D
@Kolgrath
Pets just follow the player around :)
Looks like a really cool plugin! Do the pets fight mobs, or do they simply follow you around?
@amitkilo
Be patient. I will fix them
When you'll fix the issues i reported?
@DSH105
Sorry, I had only checked on the bukkitdev page. I don't see anywhere here in the comments that says it's not updated (not that I thought it was, just reporting a bug).
@Habbomod
I can't promise that. The Wither and Enderdragon are quite large and may interfere with other entities. I might.
@Absolutionmc
Players can only have one pet at a time.
