SoundCenter
SoundCenter - Music, Sound Effects, Webradio and Voice Chat for Minecraft!
Important
Development for SoundCenter is discontinued, but there is a great alternative that I like to recommend: MCJukebox
Version: v0.3
SoundCenter (formerly CustomMusic) allows you to set music boxes or regions that stream your own music, sound effects or webradio to all players in realtime.
It also implements a simple voice chat for Minecraft.
To use the features that SoundCenter offers, you and everyone who wants to hear music and voice chat must download and use the SoundCenter client.
You do not have to download or install anything. The client is running as a java applet on the website. You will get a message with a link to the client when you join the server. When you follow this link, the client will automatically connect. - Could not be easier.
Here's a video that shows how to use the plugin (Thanks to @jithins):
Development discontinued
Unfortunately I will no longer be able to work or give you support on this project. I am sorry that I couldn't implement all your awesome suggestions.
Thank you for almost 5 years of support, criticism, praise and blame ;) You are awesome!
If you are willing to take over this project, feel free to contact me.
Features
- You can set imaginary jukeboxes, cuboid areas or worlds and biomes as music stations
- You can also use WorldGuard regions as stations
- Stations can either play your own music/ sound effects, or webradio streams
- You can use a command or the client to play songs for yourself, all players in a world, or all players on the server
- You can use any supported audio file that is stored on a public webserver. Filehosters like DropBox will work as well.
- Supported audio formats: MP3, for webradio also OGG
- Everything is easily and intuitively managable with the client's user interface
- Every feature is configurable
- You can limit access with permissions
Extra Features:
- Voice chat
- SoundCenter adds a simple voice chat to your Bukkit server
- You can speak locally (only players that are not far from you can hear you. Volume depends on their distance)
- But you can also speak globally (The whole server can hear you)
- You can disable voice chat on your server if you don't like this feature
- many more to come
How does it work?
Okay so I have SoundCenter installed on my server, what can I do now?
It's easy: Before or after logging into Minecraft, run the SoundCenterClient.jar.
Now you can add songs in the "Music" tab, or add stations in the "Stations" tab. Boxes, areas or WorldGuard regions can be created ingame via /sc set <area|box|wgregion>. That's easier, because the box will be created at your coordinates. You can edit all properties of your stations by pressing the "Edit Station" button in the "Stations" tab.

@DJPlaya
You say that java works for your browser, but your browser says "Plugin not supported". So obviously java applets do not work in your browser. What do you mean by "java works on this browser" then?
As I said before, I recommend to reinstall java. This will most likely fix the issue. But do not use a 64bit browser with 32bit java or vice versa.
@m9731526 FAQ: http://dev.bukkit.org/bukkit-plugins/custommusic/pages/main/faq/ What is a jukebox feature? Using jukebox blocks as boxes?
@fieldforensics
1) Install the plugin on your server
2) Login to Minecraft and join your server
3) Follow the link that SoundCenter will show you in the Minecraft chat.
You will be directed to sound-center.com (not soundcenter.com). There you will find a java applet, which is the client for this plugin. You can upload music and manage your stations with this client.
I am really confused. How exactly can I add music? To which file? Or where do I go because I went already to SoundCenter.com and nothing really helps me there. Plz reply ASAP.
How much traffic a music in a area per player? Does it change with music file with different kbp?
And will you add a jukebox feature?
I have java 7 update 40 And java work on this browser
@DJPlaya
Then you are most likely using an old java version and/ or your browser is blocking java applets. Install the latest Java version from here.
I have java and has add the excepton.I use opera next and it says: this plugin is not supported
@think420
Both should work. If you have IP verification active, the SoundCenter client should use the same IP as the Minecraft client. You can also leave the Server-IP field blank and enter the IP manually in the SoundCenter client. What type of error did you get?
And why do you not want your IP to be shown?
For the server IP must I put the actual IP? I don't want it to show the IP for my server. Is there a way to put a web address instead? I tried placing that instead of the IP number but it gave an error.
@DJPlaya
What do you see instead? Is there any java window popping up?
@moisesortiz
I can't control what people put on their websites. Someone could add a modified, malicious version of SoundCenter to his website and abuse the trust that people have in it. That's why I won't support SoundCenter on any other website.
I will add a command for lsiting the SoundCenter users. Thanks for the suggestion ;)
Edit:
I'm still looking for developers.
Is it possible to add the sound-center java applet to my own web?
EDIT:
Also add an option to see how many people of your server are connected on sound-center.com
I want to thank you, I see this plugin have potential.
I'm sorry I ask again. I have the problen of the mod to 1.6.4 does not work. I can not see the window on the website though I had done everything necessary. I use Forge 9.11.1.933
@antonio6
Can you give me some more information? Does the client connect to the server? Is it initialized? What does the client log say? Did you create a station? Did you add music to it?
@moisesortiz Sounds weird. I'll take a look at it, thanks!
@WegFetZ
Both, the slider and the ingame commands work it lowers the volume level but the volume does not lower lol
Hi , I have a little problem with your plugin. I've installed .jar and authorized site with java.com but when i launch music with soundcenter.comthere is no sound. !!
@WegFetZ
Hehe thanks. :D
@Arton123
Yes it will. (Like i said 2 comments below ;) )
@moisesortiz
Okay i added the broadcast ideo to the todo list.
Is it the volume command or the volume slider that isn't working? Or both? Thanks for reporting.
Will this work with 1.6.4? :D
@WegFetZ
Thanks for the fast answer!
With custom link I guess you could make so your plugin work with a link shortener. (Well I dont think it is important anymore I dont know what I was thinking lol)
I was thinking in the creation of a command called /sc broadcast saying that sc is running and they should visit sound-center.com (as you said)
I have Spigot buid 1239. It worked for only for one person to click on the link but not for others. I have Web setting on, it is really weird
EDIT:
Volume is not working
EDIT2: Volume just work with global music
I'm looking for some people to build a developer team: [DEV] SoundCenter needs a developer crew
@DJPlaya
Yes it does.
@moisesortiz
1) Added to todo list, thanks!.
2) What do you mean by creating a "custom link?" I guess with "radio is on" you mean that SoundCenter is running? I can make a broadcast that says that SoundCenter is running and that they should visit sound-center.com to use it.
3) You most likely have set "Web Links: OFF" in the Minecraft multiplayer settings. Can other links (for example www.google.com) be clicked? Which Minecraft version are you running? Links didn't really work well before 1.7.2.
