SoundCenter
SoundCenter - Music, Sound Effects, Webradio and Voice Chat for Minecraft!
Important
Development for SoundCenter is discontinued, but there is a great alternative that I like to recommend: MCJukebox
Version: v0.3
SoundCenter (formerly CustomMusic) allows you to set music boxes or regions that stream your own music, sound effects or webradio to all players in realtime.
It also implements a simple voice chat for Minecraft.
To use the features that SoundCenter offers, you and everyone who wants to hear music and voice chat must download and use the SoundCenter client.
You do not have to download or install anything. The client is running as a java applet on the website. You will get a message with a link to the client when you join the server. When you follow this link, the client will automatically connect. - Could not be easier.
Here's a video that shows how to use the plugin (Thanks to @jithins):
Development discontinued
Unfortunately I will no longer be able to work or give you support on this project. I am sorry that I couldn't implement all your awesome suggestions.
Thank you for almost 5 years of support, criticism, praise and blame ;) You are awesome!
If you are willing to take over this project, feel free to contact me.
Features
- You can set imaginary jukeboxes, cuboid areas or worlds and biomes as music stations
- You can also use WorldGuard regions as stations
- Stations can either play your own music/ sound effects, or webradio streams
- You can use a command or the client to play songs for yourself, all players in a world, or all players on the server
- You can use any supported audio file that is stored on a public webserver. Filehosters like DropBox will work as well.
- Supported audio formats: MP3, for webradio also OGG
- Everything is easily and intuitively managable with the client's user interface
- Every feature is configurable
- You can limit access with permissions
Extra Features:
- Voice chat
- SoundCenter adds a simple voice chat to your Bukkit server
- You can speak locally (only players that are not far from you can hear you. Volume depends on their distance)
- But you can also speak globally (The whole server can hear you)
- You can disable voice chat on your server if you don't like this feature
- many more to come
How does it work?
Okay so I have SoundCenter installed on my server, what can I do now?
It's easy: Before or after logging into Minecraft, run the SoundCenterClient.jar.
Now you can add songs in the "Music" tab, or add stations in the "Stations" tab. Boxes, areas or WorldGuard regions can be created ingame via /sc set <area|box|wgregion>. That's easier, because the box will be created at your coordinates. You can edit all properties of your stations by pressing the "Edit Station" button in the "Stations" tab.
For detailed instructions see the pages below.

How to use
F. A. Q.
Before you ask a question, take a look at the frequently asked questions.
Can you make it so we can customize the messages
EDIT:
Also can you make it so we can use a command like /sc broadcast and it will show everyone that the radio is on and it will send the link to join to everyone? and finally is it possible to make a custom link? for creating an automated broadcast?
EDIT 3:
When people join, when trying to click on the link, it wont open the page. I mean, they would click only to words.
work it on 1.6.4?
Can I conclude from the absence of comments that everything is working fine and you have not come across bugs/ problems yet?
Please let me know what you think!

@xkitox
That's not very surprising if you are not using the new SoundCenter version. Do not use CustomMusic.jar
Also, I have no idea how to download the new version of the plugin from the github page, I dont see a .jar file anywhere lol. Thanks again.
Every time I try to connect with the client, I get an error (no matter what port I set it to, and the ports are forwarded): ********* [INFO] UDP-Client started. [WARNING] Cannot get the I/O for (IP:Port) Please make sure that port 4774 is forwarded for TCP and UDP on the server. invalid stream header: 00302E39 java.io.ObjectInputStream.readStreamHeader(Unknown Source) java.io.ObjectInputStream.<init>(Unknown Source) com.soundcenter.soundcenter.client.network.tcp.TcpClient.run(TcpClient.java:44) java.lang.Thread.run(Unknown Source) [INFO] TCP-Client was shut down! Either wait for the BukkitDev staff to approve the file, or visit my github repository and download it there. You will find it in the "release" section. Unfortunately i'm not allowed to post a download link here, but you can follow the "View source code" link to get to my github repository.
and where I can get the new version? thanks
@yanniclord
No, there isn't.
@daftbot1
Is your server running and do you use SoundCenter v0.1? Because the BukkitDev staff hasn't approved the SoundCenter.jar file yet. All you can download from here is the old version of CustomMusic.
does not work tell me
[INFO] TCP-Client was shut down! [INFO] UDP-Client was shut down!
and if I have open ports
Just wanting to check if you've received my last e-mail, for some reason my gmail has been getting sent to spam folders of the people I send too... Let me know bud, thanks :)
Is there a client mod instead of the webui?
Unfortunately my webhoster (fatcow.com) has decided to take a break today, so sound-center.com is offline at the moment.
Seriously, fatcow is working hard to resolve the issue in their datacenter. Luckily the Bukkit staff hasn't approved my upload yet, so nobody is using SoundCenter at the moment ;)
I sent you a PM, please take a look at it. :)
There you go.
WorldGuard support will come with the next version. Had a few problems with that, so i need more time for it.
Let me know if anything doesn't fit your expectations or if you notice any bugs. I could not do very much testing because i have no server.
i wish i knew java... but i dont. Yes you are going to need someone to help you. After the upload can you focus on the features we discussed?
PS Go to bukkit forums and write a thread asking for crew
Hi everyone!
First of all: the new version is ready and i will release it later this day. Thank you all for your patience! Im sorry that i made you wait that long. I could use some people to help me with further development, so if anyone of you is interested, pm me please.
@MCRAFTRULES 1) I have no idea if this is possible. Does Spotify have a developer api? I'll inform myself about it, but i don't think that it will be easy.
2) This will work with the new version, however it is not using permissionsex.
@WegFetZ
hello, i really enjoy using this plugin. I dont know exactly how your programing is coming along, and i have no idea longer how long it is going to take for you to finish. I had an idea that you may want to hear about well 2 actually.
1... do you think you can make this program use spotify, or pandora?
and 2... Could you make it so that it works with permissionsex and have it so certain classes lvls are able to upload music and it goes down a playlist of everything that was uploaded first? As of right now only one person is allowed to have music being played. I would like it so all my members can upload their top 5 songs and have all those songs get played across my server. Thank you so much for listening to my ideas. Please get back to me, and let me know what you think. reply to this post or my email. Email: [email protected]
