SoundCenter
SoundCenter - Music, Sound Effects, Webradio and Voice Chat for Minecraft!
Important
Development for SoundCenter is discontinued, but there is a great alternative that I like to recommend: MCJukebox
Version: v0.3
SoundCenter (formerly CustomMusic) allows you to set music boxes or regions that stream your own music, sound effects or webradio to all players in realtime.
It also implements a simple voice chat for Minecraft.
To use the features that SoundCenter offers, you and everyone who wants to hear music and voice chat must download and use the SoundCenter client.
You do not have to download or install anything. The client is running as a java applet on the website. You will get a message with a link to the client when you join the server. When you follow this link, the client will automatically connect. - Could not be easier.
Here's a video that shows how to use the plugin (Thanks to @jithins):
Development discontinued
Unfortunately I will no longer be able to work or give you support on this project. I am sorry that I couldn't implement all your awesome suggestions.
Thank you for almost 5 years of support, criticism, praise and blame ;) You are awesome!
If you are willing to take over this project, feel free to contact me.
Features
- You can set imaginary jukeboxes, cuboid areas or worlds and biomes as music stations
- You can also use WorldGuard regions as stations
- Stations can either play your own music/ sound effects, or webradio streams
- You can use a command or the client to play songs for yourself, all players in a world, or all players on the server
- You can use any supported audio file that is stored on a public webserver. Filehosters like DropBox will work as well.
- Supported audio formats: MP3, for webradio also OGG
- Everything is easily and intuitively managable with the client's user interface
- Every feature is configurable
- You can limit access with permissions
Extra Features:
- Voice chat
- SoundCenter adds a simple voice chat to your Bukkit server
- You can speak locally (only players that are not far from you can hear you. Volume depends on their distance)
- But you can also speak globally (The whole server can hear you)
- You can disable voice chat on your server if you don't like this feature
- many more to come
How does it work?
Okay so I have SoundCenter installed on my server, what can I do now?
It's easy: Before or after logging into Minecraft, run the SoundCenterClient.jar.
Now you can add songs in the "Music" tab, or add stations in the "Stations" tab. Boxes, areas or WorldGuard regions can be created ingame via /sc set <area|box|wgregion>. That's easier, because the box will be created at your coordinates. You can edit all properties of your stations by pressing the "Edit Station" button in the "Stations" tab.

I am not sure if I understand you right. Do you mean a permission to allow other people to upload songs to a box/ area someone else has set?
This is a good idea and would not be difficult to implement. It will also be possible to use songs of other players in your own boxes/ areas.
What do you guys think of integrating the audioclient to a website (maybe with a java applet)? Do you think it is a good idea to use less commands and manage boxes / areas etc. through the audioclient with a GUI? I'm also thinking about using WorldGuard for regions instead of my own implementation.
I'll start some polls: http://dev.bukkit.org/bukkit-plugins/custommusic/polls/
@WegFetZ Hello. I also love this program and am excited that you might be updating it. Can you PLEASE PLEASE add this in. I have permissionsEx and love it. I would like for everyone to be able to listen to the music and have only certain groups to be able to upload music. The thing is when they upload it, i have to type a command for theres to play. I would LOVE it if you made it so the people that had permission can upload and when they hit sync, all the songs they upload get put into a playlist and people can add more songs in anytime they want. Thank you so much.
Make sure that once you get it up and running again, have a donation link. This plugin is desperately needed!
About the plugins current state
Hi, I'm the creator of this plugin and actually I have stated a while ago that I will not continue developing this plugin. This is because I have not played Minecraft for a really long time and I'm really not into the current state of Minecraft and - more important - of Bukkit. Also the plugin was my very first java project and I was really not a good programmer when I created CustomMusic. Today, I would never release a badly coded plugin like this one to the public - don't worry it isn't harmful or anything that would do damage, but it is terribly structured and thus not really expandable. My coding skills at that time were just poor. For this reason, keeping the plugin up-to-date would require me to completely recode it but I did not have enough time to do this.
However I still get a lot of requests to update the plugin and a lot of people are asking me to help them setting up the plugin. So there might be quite a few people out there who would be happy if the plugin was continued.
Since I got some time during semester break and of course after seeing this cute video @lesokn has posted, i decided to restart the project. I'll not make any promises yet, but I will try to catch up with the Minecraft and Bukkit progress and I will begin to completely recode the plugin with a lot more potential, than it had before.
In the meantime feel free to post suggestions for the new CustomMusic plugin.
So long!
@FrolicReams
Maby you should get permissions first.

Does anybody have a download link for the audio client? All links are broken, and I would love to use this.
EDIT: For those looking - His Github has it
@FrolicReams
Please go on with this plugin, I really like it.
I got a awesome Idea, the plugin "world guard" makes different regions, where you can protect different regions. Maybe you could add different music per region! So if you enter a region you will hear a different music. In my server I have a server bar, and I made a region there, so if you enter the bar region you will hear lounge music.
Can you update?
WegFetZ Im going to take over to help everyone PM me if you don't want me to take it over.
@rcth
No its not... Only The Owners can hear the music with their Localhost other players cant connect
Guys... Everything is working fine!
OK!!! That isn't from me but... watch it!!
