SoundCenter
SoundCenter - Music, Sound Effects, Webradio and Voice Chat for Minecraft!
Important
Development for SoundCenter is discontinued, but there is a great alternative that I like to recommend: MCJukebox
Version: v0.3
SoundCenter (formerly CustomMusic) allows you to set music boxes or regions that stream your own music, sound effects or webradio to all players in realtime.
It also implements a simple voice chat for Minecraft.
To use the features that SoundCenter offers, you and everyone who wants to hear music and voice chat must download and use the SoundCenter client.
You do not have to download or install anything. The client is running as a java applet on the website. You will get a message with a link to the client when you join the server. When you follow this link, the client will automatically connect. - Could not be easier.
Here's a video that shows how to use the plugin (Thanks to @jithins):
Development discontinued
Unfortunately I will no longer be able to work or give you support on this project. I am sorry that I couldn't implement all your awesome suggestions.
Thank you for almost 5 years of support, criticism, praise and blame ;) You are awesome!
If you are willing to take over this project, feel free to contact me.
Features
- You can set imaginary jukeboxes, cuboid areas or worlds and biomes as music stations
- You can also use WorldGuard regions as stations
- Stations can either play your own music/ sound effects, or webradio streams
- You can use a command or the client to play songs for yourself, all players in a world, or all players on the server
- You can use any supported audio file that is stored on a public webserver. Filehosters like DropBox will work as well.
- Supported audio formats: MP3, for webradio also OGG
- Everything is easily and intuitively managable with the client's user interface
- Every feature is configurable
- You can limit access with permissions
Extra Features:
- Voice chat
- SoundCenter adds a simple voice chat to your Bukkit server
- You can speak locally (only players that are not far from you can hear you. Volume depends on their distance)
- But you can also speak globally (The whole server can hear you)
- You can disable voice chat on your server if you don't like this feature
- many more to come
How does it work?
Okay so I have SoundCenter installed on my server, what can I do now?
It's easy: Before or after logging into Minecraft, run the SoundCenterClient.jar.
Now you can add songs in the "Music" tab, or add stations in the "Stations" tab. Boxes, areas or WorldGuard regions can be created ingame via /sc set <area|box|wgregion>. That's easier, because the box will be created at your coordinates. You can edit all properties of your stations by pressing the "Edit Station" button in the "Stations" tab.

@MickJongejan
Same problem here, anyone of us can fix it?
Is there ever going to be an update to newer versions? I don't think so. Manager of the plugin logged in last time 'Jule 13, 2012'. -.- Is there anybody who can update it?
It ran perfect on my 1.4.7 server but suddenly it doesn't work anymore and produces only errors and is not usable anymore... :/
@MickJongejan
Nevermind, it worked for a while but now I have a different problem:
> Connected! [player] registered! Log into Minecraft within 60s. Use '/cm init' if the audioclient doesn't initialize automatically. AudioClient initialized! songReceiver couldn't open InputStream: java.io.IOException: The system can not find the given path
@tannerln7
Then what did you do?
I'm having the same problem :(
Please respond as soon as possible.
@tannerln7
never mind i answered my own question haha i feel stupid now
i have this pluggin set up with all port forwards and everything. but when try to play music only my local machine can hear it. why cant everyone else hear it? im running the newest bukkit build and have the newest version of the audioclient and the pluggin
i set it up on bukkit 1.4.7 R-01 so it should work on 1.4.6 it works really good, i but i really wish they would make a update,
suggestion: can you add so only some ranks can upload music but all of them can listen still
does it works on 1.4.6 R-03? i wanna use this GREAT plugin.
Yes, I am running a 1.4.5 server can you please make compaitible for 1.4.5 and 1.4.6 thanks :)
ehm...what is the permission node for update a song?
UPDATE TO 1.4.6 PLEASEEE!!!! AMAAAAAZINNNNNGGG PLUGIN
Lol I have a thriving mash server consisting of many worlds like creative world, survival world(skyrim themed with shouts and all), and a hungergames world. I was wanting to rig it to where everytime an enderdragon rolled by you would get the skyrim theme. This is awesome!
I have a problem. When i define the corners of an area, and set the area, its working fine, but when I tell it what song I want it to play, it just mutes the area... What am i doing wrong?! How do I fix it!!! Please and Thank You!
Yup, been testing this out on my server for the last couple days. Haven't found any issues on 1.4.2 :) This is awesome and was exactly what I was looking for. Thanks!
EDIT: One thing I can verify from below is the shoutcast stations dont work in game. Lists them fine under search, but then cant connect. I can deal personally, however it would be nice to not have to upload all the music and just use a station. Otherwise, like I said ... Awesome. :)
Ugh edit again, what I get for not reading the "known issues" first: Shoutcast-API is currently not working. You need to add webradio streams manually. I'll test this and post back.
it automatically intalizes so i try /toggle or what ever to turn it on it sas i have to intalize it so i do /cm init it sas make sure your custom music is on i got the plugin in there and the audio client running do i have to make another port for the audio client or something??
@jaliver
it works whit 1.4
Please update it to 1.4.2 too so music can never stop :D
