What is CreativeGates?
CreativeGates is a plugin that allows you to create teleportation gates without running a single command. The plugin does not impose design restrictions. Design the gate frame any way you like.
- Build a gate frame using any materials. It must however contain two emerald blocks (configurable).
- Name a clock with an anvil.
- Hit the inside of the frame with the clock
- Gates using the same clock name will connect to each other.
Install
- Stop your server.
- Put MassiveCore.jar in your plugins folder. Download MassiveCore here on BukkitDev.
- Put CreativeGates.jar in your plugins folder.
- Start your server again.
- For advanced users only: Configure the MassiveCore aspects and multiverses using the commands.
- Modify /mstore/creativegates_mconf/instance.json to your liking.
- Modify /mstore/creativegates_conf@universe/instance.json to your liking.
- Configure permissions. CreativeGates only has two nodes.
Portal vs Water
CreativeGates can use either portal blocks or water blocks for portal content. You decide which to use in the "uconf".
For portal blocks to work without bugs you must open your server.properties and set allow-nether=false. This will disable the generation of the vanilla nether map and the vanilla nether portals. This is how we do it on MassiveCraft. You can add one, two or even three custom nether worlds using a world manager plugin later on.
For water blocks to work you don't need to do anything special. If you want the vanilla nether world and portals you probably want to change to water portals in the config. Otherwise players entering nether gates in the nether might exit through creative gates.

Hello All!
I am having a problem with CreativeGates on my server since upgrading to the newest version of PEX permissions plugin. I first started experiencing the problem after I tried converting over to bPermissions, but finding that it was a had migration from PEX I decided to just use the latest version instead and in moving over I still had the same problem, which is, I have three worlds through MultiVerse: A survival world, a creative one, and the spawn world. In the spawn world I have 2 portals leading to those respective worlds using CreativeGates... now when I try to go through one instead of going to the destination portal... I come right back out through the source portal. It works the same way when I use /mv tp world command to try from the other side. Does anyone have any ideas of how to fix this?

Well, that explains the issues I was having before you added the option to change portals to water.
I much prefer water portals - They're not noisey and they look much nicer with the way I build portals.. However, I was wondering .. Do your players complain about not being able to build their own nether portals? I'm thinking about disabling the normal nether portals and only allowing access to the nether through a portal at spawn, because we keep having issues with portals intersecting and people "portal grieffing."
Oh, and also .. Would it be possible to add a configuration setting for portal matching, instead of clock naming? I love that I can have two portals connected without them having to have the same blocks ... But I rarely do that, and naming clocks gets frustrating, when I need to move portals around.

Turn off allow-nether in your server.properties
Hi, I found a few bugs with the creative gates. I found a village so I built a portal from spawn to there, and every now and then when players teleport they find themselves in the nether! It has happened to me as well. Players cannot ride horses through the portals, it is not helpful when we get out the other side and find a army of zombies chasing us with no horse to get away on. Is there a fix for these bugs? Also my server is all survival so when every portal has to have 2 emerald blocks to build it, it becomes a target as we use the EmeraldMarket plugin, which uses emeralds as currency. Thanks :)
Any status on the fix on stoping normal users from turning off the server portals?
[Feature Request] Would it be possible to ensure that the horse can cross the portals between two worlds.
Sorry for my bad English, I'm french. It's so hard to write english correctly.
a bit of a cosmetic error I found. the portals work perfectly using the neither portal style and water style but the neither portals will stay in one direction. say you place a portal gate east to west and activate it first, if you activate the conjoining portal north to south the neither portal in the arch will stay facing east to west. and I tried water portals and they work good too, but if you destroy the frame with water, the water goes everywhere and will rip up carpet (found that out the hard way).
running everything current and with java 7
[EDIT] forgot to mention, the neither portal direction error only happens if the portal is only one block wide, if it's 2 portals side by side(#@@#) than it looks proper.

Yeah this is exactly the problem I am having. Anyone can use the plugin and mess with the main spawn portals. I wish I could just turn off creation mode in the config because I use the tools maybe once every 2-3 months when we open something new on the server.
If we could simply disable all tools with a config option that would even serve its purpose. Either that or a tools permission node so I do not have users turning off the survival world portals again.

Suggestion:
Can you provide an option to make CreativeGates an admin-only tool? Disabling the extra tools ingame is one way, I guess, but it is kind of obtuse. The suggestion is as thus:
Make it so you can control whether or not players can use the 'inspect/config' tools provided, either with permissions or in the configs themselves.
EDIT: I guess you can't disable the tools in the config, they just get put back next time the server is restarted. Even if you just set the tool to "NONE"
Seems like anyone can use the blaze rod on the portals even though they just have creativegates.use
Hi, I can't find the config file? I'd like to change it to water because the purple stuff always ends up facing the wrong way.. :/
Where is the uconf folder? I only have the creativegates.jar

I have found a fix, it seems, to make mcore work with PluginManager. Modify the plugin.yml's of both plugins (can be found in the jar, rename the jar to a .zip and you will be able to open it easily) and in mcore's plugin.yml add: (after 'load: startup')
softdepend: [PluginManager]
In PluginManager's plugin.yml add: (before 'commands: ')
load: startup
This seems to fix errors and CreativeGates (only massivecraft plugin I'm using), mcore and PluginManager all seem to work still. Hopefully it doesn't break anything else.
Try to find a file called "mstore' and the configs are in there. it may not be in the 'Plugins' folder
where is the config for creative gates
Hello. Can you help me, please. I have problem. When player with symbol "-" on the nickname wanna use portal plugin said "[nickname] is not a player. This gate does not seem to lead anywhere creative gates" Thanks!

I know there's something that can run with the use of World Edit that you can make rank-specific portals.. I'm not sure if its a separate plugin though. You could probably google "World Edit Portals" to get a result on that.
Please, help me, CreativeGates folder is not being generated and everybody is able to create gates by default!
@kiracookie I would rather use water with my server though please help because i cant open my server till this is sorted :(
