Villages
PLEASE READ THIS
This video below sums up what's happening with Villages (and all my other plugins) and most likely a lot of other plugins, this is just my two cents and I would appreciate if you would watch this video.
What is it?
Similar to plugins like Towny, We wanted to create a simplified version, more of the, let the player decide, rather than letting the plugin or an administrator decide.
How it works
Basically, a player can pay money to create a village (if economy is used, or simply it's free) at the chunk they're standing on, and invite players. Players can only be invited to a single village, the residents can then deposit money into the village which the mayor can spend to expand the village.
Due to some recent Bukkit changes I have to point out that this plugin checks for updates using the Curse API, and you can disable this feature at any time if you wish, simply check under the configuration page for the update setting and how to disable it.
Future plans
So far the plugin is fairly basic, I wanted to put it on Bukkit, see how it goes and if you people like it, I'll add more stuff, you can comment what you'd like to see added below if you wish.
Some of the basic ideas I have now are:
- Regions, which may have one or more Villages in them
- Wars between Villages and/or regions

I also run my own Server, Belleza, an Economy Based Villages server that runs most of my plugins. We're quite fun to play on and I hope you check us out!
You can also check out my site, domsPlace, where I have code ideas, information about plugins, and info about me in general!
Thanks

@MarnixxTS
I'm back, I'll upload your translation this afternoon.
DOMIN8Trix25,
Thank you for the response, I apologize it has taken this long to thank you.
so my server members have all the listed perm nodes for the server except *, reload, and admin but they cant do /village spawn
@DOMIN8TRIX25
Okay, thanks for the fast reply.
@MarnixxTS
oxafemble's responsible for translations, and he's currently away, so you'll have to wait until then.
Question: Are you planning to use my Dutch translation?
@rufusbot
unfortunately not fully using just our plugin, but there's many alternatives
GoldIsMoney lets you use physical items as currency that works fine with this plugin or Disable economy integration all together and use the upkeep.yml file to change how much (in items) the upkeep is
Would it be possible to make the currency used by villages able to be a material items like gold or sponges or what have you? I help run a server and we plan to use a itemic currency system and would love to use your plugin for our town distribution.
@EratheonPMC
Unfortunately not yet, but we will add this in a future update.
Is there an option to disable Mob Spawning inside a town?
@AsiAticStaTiC
Yep, turn colors.ingamelist to false and that'll disable it
@JuiceHead3311
You can, give the players the permission Villages.interact and they can
@kwain15
It expands outwards from the town spawn by whatever amount they enter.
think of it as a grid Starting at one chunk:
[=]
Then expanding 1
[=][=][=]
[=][=][=]
[=][=][=]
Then expanding another one
[=][=][=][=][=]
[=][=][=][=][=]
[=][=][=][=][=]
[=][=][=][=][=]
[=][=][=][=][=]
and so on...
@JuiceHead3311
anyway you can add a way to lower the chunks that are given to the village because when players on my server make villages they do /village expand 2 it gives them 24 chunks on my server?
I would love a feature where you can non village members can only "use" in villages. Such as opening doors, levers, etc.
Hi, is it possible to disabled the scoreboard with the Top Villages?
@DerekZil
We'll look into adding this in a future version
@Mre30
Glad that you like the way Villages has been made! I don't see many changes to this side of things coming soon.
I see that this is basic.. but can you please please please please keep it that way?
The new devs completely ruined grief prevention and I am forced to run factions :(
@DOMIN8TRIX25
Can you make it not overlap the serverproperties.conf radius to protect spawn too?
@Swords761
The plugin already integrates with WorldGuard and can be setup to not overlap WorldGuard regions if you so desire.
Just updated the plugin to version 1.26 Changes:
This seems really cool! One thing that I'm hesitant about though before installing this is how you create the villages- must the plugin select solely based on the chunk you're in? What if a player were to try and use this command in a place where someone else has a WorldGuard or GriefPrevention claim set up, or even worse, a build that is unprotected but not theirs? It would be nice to be able to use WorldEdit or something built-in to select the borders of the village; even better would be to recognize WorldEdit/GriefPrevention claims, but the automatic selection of the borders is more bothersome to me.
@Azekial07
I can look into integrating these soon, I'm a little busy at the moment but I'll do it ASAP
