Bukkit

Intro

The first thing you need to decide is whether you're running a server that only plays Killer Minecraft, or whether you want to install Killer Minecraft on alongside the worlds of an existing server. See the appropriate section below.

Setting up a server to run only Killer Minecraft

This is pretty straightforward.

1. Download the Bukkit server if you don't already have it.
2. Download the Killer Minecraft package, and put all the jar files from this into your server's plugins folder.
3. (optional) Remove any game mode or world option plugin files that you don't want your server to run. You must leave at least one game mode and at least one world option, or Killer Minecraft won't work.
4. Change the level-name key in your server.properties file to "killer"
5. Run the server, and players will start in the Killer Minecraft staging world.

Running Killer on a server with existing worlds etc

1. Most importantly, back everything up!
2. Check that you did in fact back everything up.
3. Put killer.jar into your server's plugin directory, along with the game mode and world option plugin jars that you want to use. You must include at least one game mode and at least one world option, or Killer Minecraft won't work.
4. Make sure that the level-name key in your server.properties file is not "killer" or "staging"
5. Run the server, and tell players to type "/killer join" to switch to playing Killer Minecraft.
