BuyLand
What does it do?
BuyLand allows users to buy, sell, rent, and price WorldGuard Regions. It uses the WorldGuard Flags BUYABLE and PRICE as a starting point, and allows players to set additional WorldGuard flags as they see fit. A player simply types /buyland [Region Name] or /rentland [Region Name] 1 Week and it will deduct the money from their account. An even easier way to do this is to click on BuyLand signs. This plugin uses WorldGuard, WorldEdit, and Vault. You can also configure how many regions a single person is allowed to own, as well as the default price someone will pay if no price is specifically set. You can also set the sell back price as a percentage. The Land once bought will take a snapshot of the land and save it. As soon as the Land is sold it will restore the land back to the snapshot.
Quote from chriztopia:I found that plugins like Towny and other plot plugins are sometimes hard to install and a pain to maintain. So I created this plugin for my servers and wanted to share it.
BuyLand - Version: 0.9.1 Alpha
Like always, please submit tickets for any defects that occur in the latest release.
When making suggestions for new features, please submit one suggestion per ticket. Try not to lump 5 suggestions in one ticket. It makes it very hard to track progress of each sub-part.
Quote from Planned in v0.8.9:
- Any changes needed to get to Bukkit version 1.7+

- Possible changes:

- Add a way for a player to sell an owned region to another player.
- Add a way to have the money from a purchased region and a sold region transition to a bank
- Possibly resolve some more tickets
- Try to work on some help sections to describe in better detail how to do things in BuyLand and configuration yml files.
- Any other items that may come up.

Permissions
Non-Command Permissions
- buyland.all - ALL Commands.
- buyland.signuse - Allows the user of buyland signs.
- buyland.signbreak - Allows a user to break buyland signs.
- buyland.signcreate - Allows a user to create buyland signs.
- buyland.offlinelimit.exempt - Allows the player to be offline longer than the amount specified in the config.yml setting of buyland.offlineLimit.days without the region being sold for inactivity.
- buyland.maxland.(Any Number Between 1-50) - Determines the maximum number of regions a player can buy. If you are using inheritance on permissions you can just assign a higher maxland permission to the higher ranked group. It will use the highest permission it finds in determining if a player can purchase another region.

Help
- Visit this detailed help page for more detailed information on how Buyland works.
RentLand Config
Normally rentable regions are setup with the /rentland save [regionName] command. You can also convert an existing buyable region to a rentable region by adding it manualy in the rent.yml config file.
How to create a rentable region
You must use /rentland save [regionname] and NOT /buyland save [regionname]
Creating a buyland region and trying to place a rent sign on it will not allow it to be rentable!
How to set the sell back percentage
The sell back percentage is based on the decimal form of a percent. So 1.0 equals 100% which means if u buy land for $100 you can sell it for $100. If you set the percentage to 0.6 or 60% the sell back price of $100 would mean you will only get back $60 for selling back your land.
- 1.0 = 100%
- 0.9 = 90%
- 0.8 = 80%
- 0.7 = 70%
- 0.6 = 60%
- 0.5 = 50%
Sign Usage
Sign Setup
To create a buyland sign, create the region as specified above and in the How to create a rentable region help page. When placing a sign, add the following 2 lines and it will create a sign specific for the type of region it is for. Lines 3 and 4 should be blank. You can also read about signs here.
- [BuyLand]
- RegionName
A BuyLand sign can be placed anywhere outside the region it represents.
a permission for pass the plot reset? :D
@djmichaelsaler
Created a ticket... I will get to it when I can.
Can you make command to see remaining time for rent regions?
@FigDigby
Have you set permissions for your character?
What permission did you set that is not working?
If we can't figure this out, maybe I will add an admin command that will show the permissions the plugin sees for a given player.
The Nut, seems like you are doing a good job. Keep it up.
@The_Nut
I was waiting for a reply from Christopia to the mod. The page I created was deleted.
Whenever I Go To Buy Land It Says
BuyLand: You have bought the maximum amount of land allowed.
How do i fix this?
@FigDigby
I have re-tested this on 1.6.4-R1.0 and it works just fine. In console, I typed abl and it gave me a list of admin commands. I typed /abl in game and it also gave me a list of admin commands.
While not specifically compiled for 1.6.4-R2.0, I did the same test for this version and I have no errors, and it did the exact same as in R1.0. It works fine for me.
If you are having trouble, please double check your server logs and look for any errors related to BuyLand. If you cant figure out if it is an error related to buyland, just paste your server log into pastebin.com and then post a link to it here.
Does This Work For 1.6.4 ??
Whenever I Startup My Server BuyLand Doesnt Work I Place The Plugins Inside The Plugin Folder And When I Open My Server And Type /abl Nothing Comes Up Please Help! D:
@Xorifelse
Created ticket 69 in response to this request. I will look into how this can be implemented in a future release.
@chriztopia
The way I recoded the plugin, you should no longer have to remove the inherited permission anymore. For example if you have group builder that has the buyland.maxland.5 permission to allow them to have 5 regions, and a group expertBuilder that has buyland.maxland.10 permission to allow them to have 10 regions, you do not need to add -buyland.maxland.5 to the expertBuilder group. The plugin will not get confused about that any more.
It looks like I forgot to update the main page with that information.
Would it be possible to make it so people can buy the default worldguard flags for their regions? For example, I want players to enter bought regions by default however if the owner bought the noentry flag none can just walk in without his permission. If this can be done, i will most likely install this plugin over the 3 other plugins I run to barely achieve what i want.
Also, I think the [buyland] tag of the signs should be changed to [for rent/sale] cause it doesn't make much sense to buy land, which is for rent.
@BlockWar
:) I add that feature when I still developed the plugin...
BuyLand.MaxLand Help
Add the permission to each group using BuyLand! - buyland.maxland.5 The above permission will allow users to buy up to 5 regions. If you are using inheritance on permissions you will need to remove each permission from the next group. Example: - -buyland.maxland.5 - buyland.maxland.10
Yay :D happy with development again, can now please you add a permission to limit how much lands can a people have?
Buyland Version 0.8.7 for build 1.6.4 has been posted, just awaiting approval.
NOTE: No changes between the build for 1.6.2 and the build for 1.6.4. Just relinked bukkit and recompiled.
@AndyCYXU
I understand it was for a future build. That is why I converted your request into ticket # 68 and will work it in with other updates.
@The_Nut
Yeah I meant in the future to add them not right away lol mainly for the players who don't think far ahead rent an apartment for couple days put chest with their stuff in there, then they forget and or cannot join before rent expires and loose their stuff lol, but the reset schematics is super feature especially with rentals, get a bad tenant they rent it for few minutes trash the place then poof like New!!!
I will check out the fix tonight if I find something wrong will let you know.
Definitely a plugin worthy of DONATE button ;)
Thanks
@RCEKH
Thank you for the nudge... I planned to have the 1.6.4 version released already but wanted to have the pressing bugs taken care of first. I will probably get the 1.6.4 version out today.
@RCEKH
Works on 1.6.4 well it does for me :)
whats about a version with 1.6.4 ?
