Why Signs

BuyLand commands let you control most everything with your regions, but you don't want to have to teach your players the commands to control them.

BuyLand signs set your players interact with regions in a way that they do not need to know the text commands.

Creating a BuyLand sign v0.8.8+

Before a BuyLand sign can be created, a region definition must be saved by an admin with either "/abl save regionName" or "/rentland save regionName". The creation of the signs has been simplified, and all signs are made the same way.

After the sign is created, it will automatically convert into one of the types below depending on the current state of the region it represents.
It will also remove the previous sign associated with the region, thus allowing for a sign to be moved easily.

General Sign Clicking Rules

Types of signs v0.8.8+

There are five types of signs that exist for for BuyLand regions depending on the state of the region.

The signs can be displayed with or without the [BuyLand] header depending on the config setting. This option can be set to true or false. The following setting would show signs with a [BuyLand] header on the 1st line.

For Sale Signs

The For Sale sign allows the player to interact with a region that is for sale and buy the region by clicking on the sign.
Available click actions on the sign:

• left-click and sneak left-click
  • A player with rights can break the sign
• right-click
  • The player is reminded to sneak-right-click to buy the region
• sneak-right-click
  • A player with rights can purchase the region.

Sell Back Signs

The Sell Back sign allows the region owner to either sell the region back, or view WorldGuard flags sign by clicking on the sign.
Available click actions on the sign:

• left-click
  • The owner is reminded to sneak left-click to view available region flags that can be set.
  • The owner is reminded to sneak right-click to sell the region.
  • The owner or admin can break the sign.
• sneak-left-click
  • The owner can change the sign to the region flags sign so the player can set or unset options.
• right-click
  • The owner is reminded to sneak left-click to view available region flags that can be set.
  • The owner is reminded to sneak right-click to sell the region.
• sneak-right-click
  • The owner can sell the region.

For Rent Signs

The For Rent sign allows the player to interact with a region that is for rent.
Available click actions on the sign:

• left-click and sneak left-click
  • A player with rights can break the sign
  • The player is reminded to right-click to cycle through different time frames for renting.
  • The player is reminded to sneak right-click to rent the region for the displayed time frame.
• right-click
  • Cycle through the different time frames to rent a sign. The progression is as follows Hour->Day->Week->Second->Minute->Hour. etc.
  • Display the cost of renting for the time period.
• sneak-right-click
  • A player with rights can rent the region for the duration displayed on the sign.

The following is an example of cycling through the time frames. This cycle also applies to Extend Rent signs.

Extend Rent Signs

The Extend Rent sign allows the player to extend the rent on a region by clicking on the sign.
Available click actions on the sign:

• left-click
  • The region renter is reminded to sneak left-click to view available region flags that can be set.
  • The region renter is reminded to right-click to cycle through different time frames for renting.
  • The region renter is reminded to sneak right-click to extend the rent for the region.
  • The region renter or admin can break the sign.
  • The player is display the amount of time remaining on the rent.
• sneak-left-click
  • The region renter can change the sign to the region flags sign so the player can set or unset options.
• right-click
  • The player can cycle through the different time frames to rent a sign. The progression is as follows Hour->Day->Week->Second->Minute->Hour. etc.
  • The region renter is reminded to sneak left-click to view available region flags that can be set.
  • The region renter is reminded to sneak right-click to extend the rent for the region.
• sneak-right-click
  • The region renter can extend the rent of the region for the duration displayed on the sign.

WorldGuard Region Flag Signs

The region flags sign allows you to set or remove the WorldGuard region flags that were allowed in the config.yml file.
Available click actions on the sign:

• left-click
  • Rotate through the flag options. (displayed on the 4th line)
• sneak-left-click
  • Return to the "Sell Back" or the "Extend Rent" signs
• right-click
  • Rotate through the different available flags. (displayed on the 3rd line)
• sneak-right-click
  • Toggle the option displayed to be either set or unset.

Creating a BuyLand sign v0.8.7 and earlier

• [BuyLand]
• For Sale / For Rent
• RegionName - Must be exactly what the regions name is.
• 1 Second / 1 Minute / 1 Hour / 1 Day (This line is left blank when making a For Sale Sign.)

A BuyLand sign can be placed anywhere outside the region it represents.
