Automatic turrets for Bukkit servers (cleverly disguised as minecarts!)
I moved the project into Beta as there have been more people downloading and, I'm assuming, testing it, with no major issues. There is a lot going on in this plugin, and little changes can have far reaching consequences, let alone big changes, so I still won't stake my name on saying it absolutely won't mess anything on your server up. Please report any problems you have!
Currently working on: DisguiseCraft support. Give me your ideas on what you'd want from this :)
Details: I'm hooked into DisguiseCraft, just need ideas for what kind of features are desirable!

For those of you antsy about getting a version for 1.4.4, here's an unofficial 1.4.4 dev build.

Building turrets is easy: Just place a fence post, then right click with a minecart on top. It's so easy, even a guest could do it! (That's why Turrets has permissions support.)
Make sure you attach an ammo chest to the turret (see command page) or set turrets to have unlimited ammo (see config page).
Breaking turrets is also easy: Just left-click it until it breaks, just like a minecart.
Features
- Turrets target hostile mobs
- Turrets will avoid shooting through walls
- Turrets use ammo chests (configurable).
- Turrets are upgradable!
- Upgrade a turret by replacing the block under its fence post: iron -> gold -> diamond
- Better turrets can shoot faster, farther, more accurately
- Firing speed, range, and accuracy can be changed in the configuration
- Turrets are breakable! (With permissions, of course)

oh i was using 1.4.6 with 1.4.5 turrets, thank u for telling me this but my question now is when will it be for 1.4.6?

You should give us the error log in your console.
Also make sure your CraftBukkit version matches that which the Turrets version you are using is listed to work with.

im on the same boat i know how to link the boxes but the problem is i cant place the minecart of top of the fence but i dont know if this plugin works with texture packs on but to answer your question all you have to do is type the command /turrets addammobox and left click both the fence and the chest next to it. and when i try to place the turret on it it would say "[SEVERE] Could not pass event PlayerInteractEvent to Turrets v0.2.4" how would i fix this?
@lashedspace677 This will seem a noob question, but how to select the turret without mounting it? god i feel stupid but i cannot seem to add an ammobox XD
it wont let me place a minecart on top of it like i take a fence post and right click on it with a minecart and it doesn't do anything?

Hey, I've got a version of turrets that uses factions to handle PVP targets - once I've finished testing it i'll do a pull request for it - it has the bulk of factions integration work done so it'd be a good base to work one.
Version 0.2.5 (still in development) will have Plugin Metrics. This will allow us to assess and prioritize features. It can also give us hints as to which parts of the plugin are used most and need to be scrutinized for optimization.

I have a version compiled for CraftBukkit-1.4.6-R0.1 Beta in the jenkins.
Currently, it is completely untested so: Use at your own risk!!!
Hey guys! Sorry for the complete AWOLness that is me. Work and RL have been going nuts recently (things like a recent home purchase, new job, and a vacation mixed in there, plus getting ready for Xmas really take up the time ><).
I gave Devil_Boy the ability to make updates and stuff like that, but I'm not going away permanently. I'm hoping that the end of the holidays will bring with it some peace and time to work on fun stuff, like this :D
can you make the the turrets shoot other faction members
I'm having trouble editing the config file. It always reverts back to the default. Im just trying to add this 1 thing

Hello guys,
I have a question. The plugin looks awesome and it fits perfectly in the server I want to make. I have one issue with it though, would it be possible for mobs to break those turrets?
I know it sounds hard and it may not even be possible, but hey, I'd better ask than have nothing =D.

defaultUseAmmoBox was set to true, interacting with a fence with a minecart in hand and a right-click.
