TribesNextDoor
TribesNextDoor is my light(er)-weight replacement for Towny. We used Towny on our server for quite some time and we constantly had problems and the main problem with it was that it had half a tonne of features we didn't use/need/want.
TribesNextDoor provides simpler management of areas along with many other useful features. Some of the features include: - Tribe area management (managed in chunks) - Tribe tp (so you can tp to people in your tribe) - Tribe chat (so you can talk to people in your tribe) - Compatible economy with my other plugin GoldWallet - Backup command (To backup your precious tribe data)
I spent 2 weeks making the plugin initially, but it has constantly evolved since then. The way i have done things in the code, i have made it more efficient and user friendly. I hope that everyone who uses the plugin finds it as good as we have thus far.
It is still a rather new plugin and so problems may still occur, but hopefully by releasing this plugin to the public, we may be able to track down more bugs and we can fix them (and by we can fix them, i mean i can fix them (unless ofcourse you want to do a PR on github)),

Is there a way I can stop other players building and destroying in other tribes completely? If you could find a way, or tell me the way, that would be great!

Posted Mar 10, 2013Could you maybe add a way for players to allow PvP and PvE in their tribe? This is the only functionality that I really would like to see added. I'll be changing from Towny to this if you could add this. Moreover, it's a great plugin!

In your tribe data file, there is a tribe which where it says 'World' has a world that does not exist/is not loaded. To fix this you can either go through the tribe data file and change all occurrences of the old world name into a new one, or you can delete the whole tribe with the old world name entirely.

Posted Feb 17, 2013Didn't work for my server. Seemed to be having a problem with Gringots. It wouldn't let me make a tribe or anything, telling me there was an internal error. Using Zguilds now and seems to be working fine but I prefer to use this if I can get it running.

Well, I've been told to not use ./reload. So now I've started doing ./stop and re-starting the server, I still get the same problem. I have SimpleRestart, which restarts my server every 30min and also starts it back up when i do ./stop. Could this be the problem?

I shall look into this, which data type are you using for storage? i'm going to assume yml. However i do highly advise against reloading the server (through the use of /reload) because this causes memory leaks.

Thank you for your interest. I do plan to keep this updated for the foreseeable future due to the fact the server i play on runs this plugin. I do have a civilisation feature in the works, where tribes will be able to ally with each other. This will lead to the ability to possibly teleport to other tribe spawns if they are in your civilisation. There will most certainly be a civilisation chat. And unfortunately that is all the ideas i have had. I do not plan for a war feature round about now (i know a lot of people ask for that kind of thing).
As for other plans. I plan to make this plugin as efficient and fool-proof as i can. I don't want this plugin to become bloated with features, which is why a war feature is likely not going to happen. When i say fool-proof, what i mean is, everything should work the way it is intended with as fewer bugs and exploits as possible. I don't want commands to be abuse-able or data breaking in any way.

I was looking for something to replace towny and this ticks most of the boxes. I hope to provide a long term solution for the server I'd like to use this for, so if I may be so bold can I ask what your plans are for this plugin. Will you keep it regularly updated?
Also, similar to raizenpk, if you plan to add any more features or add-ons; a nation/tribal-relation enhancement would be awesome, similar to a factions enemy/ally/neutral option and towny's nation management.

Thank you for the comment. 1. Vault support is infact a feature in the latest version. 2. This is an understandable feature, i shall consider this 3. Not entierly sure how these would work, but it would be nice. 4. Again, i shall consider this as a feature
And yes, multiworld support is something which has been mentioned but i haven't had the time as of recently to implement.

Posted Dec 23, 2012Hi there. I just started using the plugin and I must say it is awesome, very easy to use. I have a few suggestions though. 1. Make it so you can use a different economy plugin with Vault. 2. Option to disable PVP between players in the same tribe. 3. Declare War/Enemies/Allies. 4. Option to request joining in a certain tribe.
If any of these already exist, I'm sorry, but I didn't notice. What do you say ? Thanks :D

Posted Dec 13, 2012Having used this on my server for months, I can confidently state that this is the best community organizing plugin on the market. If you're looking at this and trying to decide between it or Towny/Factions/etc, this is the way to go. All the functionality, none of the bulk.
