TelePads
Telepads v1.6
Description
^ Download for 1.6 while it is approved
Telepads is a tool which you can use to set up simple teleportation systems within your multiplayer world. You may create 'pads' which are linked and can be stepped over for simple teleportation. This plugin supports multiworld due to the awesomeness of bukkit, and how easy the bukkit API makes this. All permissions within the plugin default to operator status if they have not been assigned, but the use permission, which sets to 'true' by default... meaning any player can use the pads. To setup a teleport pad, follow the below instructions:
- Stand on platform material (defined in config file)
- Type /createpad <name>, replacing <name> with the name of the teleport pad
- Create another pad at your destination
- Use /padlink <pad> <otherpad> to link the two pads, replacing <pad> and <otherpad> with the names of your pads.
It really is that easy! Telepads was designed with easy-to-use teleportation features in mind, so this is really what it was made for!

Sample Configuration
Below is a sample configuration file for telepads. Stick this in your telepads configuration file (plugins/telepads/config.yml) and configure it as necessary. Note that the configuration file will also automatically generate the first time you use this plugin.
# For type ID's, go to www.minecraftwiki.net/wiki/Data_values pads: properties: # Type ID of the telepad material (goto the wiki link above). type_id: 1 # Whether or not the message 'No Destination' when the pad isn't linked is enabled. nodestmsg_enabled: true # Time standing on the pad (seconds) before you get teleported. teleport_time: 3 messages: # Message when you delete a teleport pad delete: Teleport pad %pad% removed. # When you link pads, this message displays link: Successfully linked %pad% to %pad2% # The wait message, which shows before being teleported with the time it will take. wait: You will depart from here in %time% teleport: # Whether or not the teleport message is enabled enable: true # The message that appears on teleport. message: You have arrived at %pad%
Sample Permissions
TelePads has a Permission system which allows different users different ways to interact with the pads. Due to the complexity of this, here's a simple guide to configuring permissions for use alongside TelePads.
# A normal player default: permissions: - telepads.use - telepads.pads # A limited user, can only use the pad named 'spawn' limited: permissions: - telepads.use - telepads.pads.spawn # An elevated permissions user mod: permissions: - telepads.use - telepads.pads - telepads.create - telepads.delete - telepads.list - telepads.link
Future Plans
- Teleport pad random outcome/multiple exits
- Command simplification
This plugin uses the default bukkit permissions (SuperPerms). If you find only ops can do everything, then you are using an outdated permissions plugin. The plugin named 'Permissions' for example, is outdated. Post me a pm or comment if you have any issues.
when players use a telepad and they arive on the other telepad they come always under that telepad so they end up in dirt and they die so please fix this fast!
I'm using TelePads 1.5 with MC 1.5.2 and after installing it on both my private multiplayer server and an online hosted server, I found a bug which may or may not have been discovered yet:
I have two sets of two TelePads, linked to each other. TP1 at home is linked to TP2 in the City, and TP3 at home is linked to TP4 atop my castle. TP1 and TP3 are 11 squares apart, or within 3 seconds of each other.
As long as I have an active TelePad countdown, if I step on another TelePad, it still sends me to the original TelePad's destination. In this case, if I walk over TP1 and stop on TP3, I get sent to TP2, not TP4, because the countdown is still active by the time I stop on TP3.
One solution would be to change the default countdown timer to less than the amount of time it takes to travel between TelePads. Another would be to distance your TelePads from each other.
Is there a chance, in a future version of TelePads, to cancel a countdown if you step off a TelePad? Maybe make it a config feature which can be True or False.
Otherwise, TelePads is a great mod, and I thank the owner for all the hard work in getting it done.

I'm having the same problem several people have posted about already where I create a simple two way portal system between two blocks and when players try and use them they end up several blocks below the portal block and die underground. Do both portals have to be above ground and outside to work?
Whenever I try to unlink a pad, it returns /padunlink <pad>. Which would be fine if I was typing the command incorrectly, but I'm not.
Any suggestions?
Wow! Thank you so much!! I have been a long time user of Telepads and I am so happy that is it updated!!
Telepads version 1.5 released!
Well, been using this on a server I am admin on, and the guessing game to naming which pad is named what, is a pain in the ass. Maybe add a /padinfo command?
I'm using this plugin on a Tekkit Server and it works pefectly well for OPs but members cannot be teleported. I've added telepads.use as part of the groupmanager permissions for member but still no joy. Suggestions?
Hi. My friend and i have a server and i installed this plugin. i love the plugin but my friend cant go though the pad. he is a op and i really want this plugin. Please help!!!
@thericeking
I have no problem with it retaining settings, also it always throws a NullPointerExeception at start because it checks your "pads.yml" file for different telepads however it doesn't know when to stop and it returns 'null' and that would pop up your error. I did a nasty thing and decompiled it threw a try/catch around it and called it a day, poor coding but its a quick fix.
This is simply a beautiful and very simple to use tele plugin. No complications. Exactly what I wanted. Thank you so much for this. Great job. Who would want or need any more than this for teleporting? It just can't get anymore simple than this. THANK YOU!!!
UPDATE REVIEW:
The next day I installed this plugin I noticed that my tele's were gone. I also noticed errors caused by this plugin while starting my server. So unfortunate that this plugin hasn't been updated for over a year. It works nicely but it won't retain the settings the next time you boot your server. I hope the developer finds time to update this otherwise awesome plugin.
Whats the permission for other players(not OPs) can use pad.I tried putting in the telepads.use permission but it didnt work for non-OPs.Please help.
Whenever I place a telepad and link it to another, when I travel I fall underground and suffocate. Is this something I'm doing wrong and is there a fix for it?
@srammij
What permissions plugin are you using? Works fine in 1.4.6 R03 with PermissionsBukkit
How do i resolve permission issues? Nobody on my server can use the telepads except me.
I too would love an updated TelePads version for CB 1.4.5-0.3 (or -0.2).
The simplicity of this mod is what makes it one of the better teleportation mods. At least, I don't know of any other tp mod that includes a similarly easy way to create and use teleporters. Most of them need something special to work, like gate blocks or a sign - where, with TelePads, I can create a teleporter pad literally anywhere I like with a single slash command, then just step on it et voilĂ .
I'm open to suggestions here though.
The Stargate mod is cool and everything, the point-to-point gates as well as the repeater gates and the permissions and the way it "prevents" duplicates, but it doesn't make it quite as easy to set-up a gate anywhere, like in a small dungeon niche (except maybe if I'm missing something integral to it), and a lot of other mods seem to work in a very similar way.
@island219
Where is the download for the updated version?
Thanks, wslauson
Nice plugin :)
One thing i maybe will be interested in: Different teleport_time per pad. So maybe it will be possible to configure pads with a command like /configpad or /padtimer. And if no special teleport_time is given, the pads will use the default from the config.
Thanks for keeping this updated and alive :)
update pls :D
@PhoenixDIE
I've updated this. I'll be putting it on Bukkit Dev soon :)
@kspade
I'v updated it. Will edit with link soon!
