SmokeTrail
- My IGN: DimensioX, my youtube name is MixMasterWright
- Estimated Update Release date: TBA
- This plugins use was to essentially utilize the particle effects that bukkit has to offer mainly the smoke and fire particles(hence the name, but now it has a whole lot more than that). When you walk it will leave a trail of smoke and fire behind you hence the name. The trail can not be seen if you have particle effects turned off and it will not bother any anti-cheating plugins.
- Commands:

- /trail smoke will leave a trail of smoke behind you
- /trail fire will leave a trail of fire behind you and
- /trail ender will leave a trail of ender particles behind you
- /trail flowers will leave a trail of flowers behind you(you can't pick them up and they will despawn on their own)
- /trail loot will leave a trail of goodies behind you
- /trail star will leave a trail of stars behind you
- /trail crit will leave a trail of critical blows behind you
- /trail sweat will make you feel like taking a hike

- /trail sparks will leave a trail of sparks behind you.
- /trail breadcrumb will leave a trail of crumbs behind you. Hansel and Gretel approved!
- /trail magma will leave a trail of destruction behind you.
- /trail letters will leave a trail of knowledge around you.
- /trail anger will make you want to punch a kitten
- /trail happy will leave you feeling green
- /trail magic will make you feel like Harry Potter
- /trail music will make you feel harmonious
- /trail clouds will have you sleeping on them
- /trail multi will let you have multiple trails at once!(if you have permission for the trail)
- /trail list will list all the current trails
- /trail off turns off all trails You can use all commands on other players using /trail command playername; it has to be the exact name case sensitive. For /trail multi you just do /trail multi trail1, trail2, etc.

- Custom Messages format: You can use it just like essentials chat colors. Just don't mess with the enabled/disabled or it will break and I will be upset. For a reference use this: http://ess.khhq.net/mc/
- Metrics Collection
This plugin utilises Hidendra's plugin metrics system, which means that the following information is collected and sent to mcstats.org:
- A unique identifier
- The server's version of Java
- Whether the server is in offline or online mode
- The plugin's version
- The server's version
- The OS version/name and architecture
- The core count for the CPU
- The number of players online
- The Metrics version Opting out of this service can be done by editing plugins/Plugin Metrics/config.yml and changing opt-out to true.
update plz!
The plugin does not need any permissions people can use them without permissions .. . . . . .
Hey!
We're having a serious problem with the plugin. When people do /trail loot and drop an actual item on the loot, it glitches and they can pick up every item from the trail.
Example: You have a diamond in your hand, the plugin drops three diamonds, you drop your one into them and boom, you can pick up four diamonds.
How to reproduce:
- Do /trail loot
- Do what I said in the example. It works with every item (tested with diamond, emerald and iron)
Thanks a lot in advance for your answer!
Running 8.1 on spigot 1.9.2.
Everything works as planned but players can use the "/trail" command to open the GUI and select any trail, thus bypassing the permissions per trail. Also, have to agree with Doctacosa , it'd be nice if their was at least an option to only show trails the player had permission for in the GUI (as well as just not letting them use them to begin with). Otherwise, love this plugin, have used it on our servers for years. Appreciate your hard work! So do our players I'm sure.
Hey Magnus I was wondering if you could do a update for 1.7.10. I am planning on running a modded server but your 1.7.10 version is broken atm.
Testing version 8.1, I'm facing two potential problems:
- The GUI menu doesn't seem to require any permissions. My test account is not able to do "/trail fire", "/trail off" or anything similar, but I can totally do "/trail" and select something from the menu. Once selected, since I can't access "/train off", I can't disable it. Shouldn't a permission node check be needed, here?
- Additionally, it'd be nice if the GUI only displayed the trails that are available to a given player. The description above implies that it should be doing that already, but even if I force disable a permission through something like "/pex user PLAYER add -smoketrail.use.star" (notice the minus), the option still appears and works.
The plugin is working very well otherwise, so I'd be nice to see these things fixed. Thanks!
@KingMagnus00
The plugin works fine, I tested it yesterday on my 1.9 server. I do have some tips or possible features/functionalities that you may or may not want to implement in the future.
That is all for now. Great job btw on the current GUI Menu. It already looks really good!

@Gagenkraft Bubbles don't actually come from a specific mob, they're a side-effect of breathing underwater. It's why it doesn't work above water. I'm working on overriding that condition. As of now both menus are made and working* correctly. As for shapes, I haven't considered forcefields but will now. I do have a raining effect and a spouting effect(it fires up from the ground where you step). Also, since I know how now I'll make a potion bubbles trail that isn't just randomized like it is now like the disco trail. I had that before but the method I was using before broke mid-development process which is a pain. I've uploaded the new version and it's awaiting approval now.
@KingMagnus00
Awesome!
From which mob did you get the water bubbles then, the Guardian? And maybe it is cool for the future to add like custom shapes of particles like: Forcefields or a Rain Clouds above your head.
But I am already looking forward to the GUI update !

Gagenkraft
@Gagenkraft At this very moment, working on the GUI. After that, a water bubble trail. Going to see if I can override the fact that it only happens underwater when I tried to make it last time. Will probably release it anyways and just have it be underwater exclusive because it looks neat anyways.
Also, I can just give multi it's own menu now that I'm working on the GUI altogether. The base menu will close after you click a trail, the multi menu won't. So you'd have to exit it manually and after you close it it'll send you a message saying whatever you activated. I'll see if I can have something to show for it by tomorrow.
Hey KingMagnus00,
Any new plans or additions for the plugin?

Gagenkraft
@KingMagnus00
Maybe some tips:
SERVER GUIDE: When you enter the server you spawn in the lobby ...
Server info:
PS: I don't intent to advertise here, it is just to show you a working demo which may inspire you to add the GUI-menu feature. So if you want to remove the link to the plugin or the IP of the server, feel free to do it.
@Gagenkraft
Hey KingMagnus00,
Reason: Having a rank with permission "smoketrail.multi" will not allow the person with this rank to use the "/trail multi" command. If a person has a rank with "*" then the user is able to use the "/multi command". So the permission "smoketrail.multi" probably isn't the correct permission to use "/trail multi".
The rest of the plugin is still working perfectly. So keep up the good work!
Greetings,
Gagenkraft
PS: Currently do not have my server files, so I will post the error log later. Sorry about that.
Alright guys, finally got my hands on a working computer. I'm going to get a grip on everything Minecraft and actually start updating this thing. Expect some form of update and/or announcement by the end of the months.
Supermis amk
Could you please add a new command /trail remove to delete the player's saved trail in the config? Some players don't want the trail at all anymore and I have to manually delete the line in the config every time, which gets old very quickly. Either that or just remove that line when they do /trail off. Please and thank you.
can you out it as a gui so when someone types trial or trails an inventory will pop up displaying the trails available?
Great Plugin I really love it. Come Join My Server Anyone Who Wants To. 1.8 mc.combatnetwork.co Default only gets two trails but if you like my server you can donate it really goes a long way.
can i do /trail anger <then a person here?>
