Simple Showcase - How to create your first player owned shop

Creating a player owned shop is very easy, that's one of the things which makes Simple Showcase so brilliant. Please read the tutorial bellow to discover how you create your very own player owned shop.

Preparing

Before you are creating a shop you must know that you need to have a block to put your shop on, for example if you use a wool block as shop, don't place it on the ground yet, but just hold it in your hand.

You can also claim a booth to put your shop on, if the server you are playing on has any booths, these are probably in protected worlds then. Booths are blocks which are (most of the times) in protected area's. For example is there's a shop with a lot of booths in there players are able to claim these booths. This feature is available to prevent players from placing there shop everywhere they can in a protected area.

Of course, you also need some items you want to sell, please keep these in your inventory.

Creating your very own player owned shop (with the wizard)

Creating your very own player owned shop is very simple, you only have to execute one command in the chat. After you used this command a little wizard will be shown to make the set up easier.

Now run the command /shop create into the chat, you could even type a name after the command to give your shop a custom name. Now the wizard will show up. The wizard tells you that when you right click that you'll go out of the wizard mode, please don't do so. The first thing the wizard asks you to do is to set the location of the shop, as the chat tells you this is very easy to do. Now hold the wool block, or any other block you want to use as your shop in your hand and place it down anywhere you want to create your shop. If you want to place your shop onto a booth you can left click on a booth to claim that booth, the wizard will ask you then if you want to claim this booth because you might need to pay a little.

After you set the location of your shop, you can set up the product price. The wizard will ask you to put the price of the product you want to sell into the chat. For example if you want to sell your product for 1.23 Dollar (The currency dollar will be used here, you might have another currency) you just type '1.23' into the chat and Simple Showcase will do the rest.

Now you've created your shop and it's finished to be used. Before players are able to buy things from the shop you've to put items in it. When you right click your shop the shops inventory will be opened. Now just put the items you want to sell into the shops inventory and hit the escape button to close the inventory. Now your shop has been fully set up and players are able to buy stuff from you! The products you put into your shop will be automaticly shown on your shop. Make sure you know, that by default, if your shop is empty it will automaticly be removed. Please note that you are only able to put one type of items into your shop.

Creating your very own player owned shop (without the wizard)

Creating your very own player owned shop is very simple, but we highly recommend you to use the build-in wizard, you could find how to make your own shop using the wizard above.

Creating your very own player owned shop can be done with a few commands (if you don't use the wizard way). The first thing you have to do is run the command /shop create in the chat, if you want to you can even put a name behind the command to give your shop a custom name. Now a wizard will show up, since we don't want to use the wizard this time you have to right click in the air to cancel the wizard. Because you created the shop it has now been selected. Please note that your shop hasn't been placed yet so it isn't visible.

Now you can use the command /shop info to view all information about your selected shop you just created. This command tells you what things are set up and which aren't. The first thing you might notice is that the location of the shop is not set yet.

To place your selected shop you have to use the command /shop setlocation, now Simple Showcase asks you to place down a block to put your shop on, or to to left click on a booth. If you want to use a wool block as your shop, please place down a wool block where you want to create your shop. After you done that, your shops location has been set.

If you use the /shop info command you can see your shop location has been set. The only two things you have to set up is the product price and you've to add the products you want to sell to your shop. This is also very easy to do.

To set the price of your shop you simply have to run the command /shop setprice <price>, you've to replace <price> with the price you want to give your product. For example if we use the command /shop setprice 1.23 the product which you're going to sell will be 1.23 Dollar for each product (The currency dollar will be used here, you might have another currency). Now your price has been set up.

The last thing you've to do is putting your products in to your shop. This is very simple to do. Please right click on your shop to open the inventory of the shop. Now you are able to drag and drop all the items you want to sell into your shop. Please note that you can only sell one type of items in one shop, other items you add to your shop will be automaticly returned. After you added your products into your shop an item will be automaticly shown on the shop. When your shop is empty (out of stock) the item will be removed until you add new products again. Please note that on the server you are playing on is probably the feature enabled that your shop is automaticly removed when your shop is out of stock. This is done to keep everything look nice and clean.

I want to know more things I can do with my shops!

If you want to know all the commands available for your player owned shops you can simply use the command /shop help to see all the commands you can use. You could also check out the commands page to see all available commands.

I don't have permission for a command!

If you try to use a command a chat message might be returned telling you you don't have permission to use that command. The server administrators of the server you're playing on have disabled this command for you, you might need to have a higher ranking on their server or they have another good reason to do so. If you want to know more about this you've to contact your server administrators, they should be able to tell you everything you want to know.
