Simple Prefix: Allows you to easily manage your chat with prefixes and suffixes.
This plugin uses prefixes and suffixes that are very easy to configure, from inside of an yml config file. You apply prefixes and suffixes per user or group in the /SimplePrefix/config.yml file.
Alternatively, Simple Prefix can be configured to get the prefixes and suffixes from Vault supported chat plugins instead (PermissionsEx, bPermissions, etc.)
You can fully alter the chat format. For example, you could achieve the following ingame:
- [Admin] Flabaliki: my message here
Or even, just completely mix and match the template to get the look you want.
A developer API is available to those who wish to access prefixes and suffixes and use them within their own plugin. Click "Metadata" above.
That's basically what this is, just a lightweight plugin for quickly getting your prefixes and suffixes to work, however you want.
Read the Configuration page for instructions on how to use the plugin.
Features:
- Uses permissions to apply prefixes and suffixes to selected users or groups.
- Alternatively, can use prefixes and suffixes from plugins supported by Vault.
- Formatting/color codes are fully supported.
- Configure the chat format to display however you want.
- Developer API for fetching prefixes and suffixes.
- Easy to use commands for adding / removing prefixes in game.
- Set prefixes and suffixes per group or per user.
- Plays nicely with Essentials /nick command.

As of version 2.3.1, this plugin uses an automatic updater to check if you are running the latest version, and if not, it downloads the latest version. To disable this please set "Auto-Update" to "false" in the config.yml file.
@Flabaliki When are you gonna Update this.. Its still not working... :/ And the 1.3.2 Version is already out.
Before, this used to be compatible with factions. But now I have to turn factions tags off in order to not let everything mix :/ Could you add factions support?
Does it work w/Herochat Now??
hey @Flabaliki umm my plugin isn't working all it shows is the time thats all that it shows before my username in the chat box and I did everything right here's the snapshots please reply and tell me my problem ok please thanks :}.
@XtimmyX
You still have Multiple "User" Groups. You don't need multiple "User" groups. If you want to make a special prefix/suffix for a specific user, You use the "User" group. You don't put "User" groups under the prefix you want them to have. You make a prefix under the "Groups" group, and give a group in your permissions system the perm:
simpleprefix.<prefixname>
Ill fix yours.
Lets say you have a group in permissions, called default, and you have a prefix called Admin. Go to your group in permissions that is named "default" and add the perm:
simpleprefix.Admin

@Zocolo Here is my config after editing.. http://pastebin.com/RpT8XquS
And heres the error log: http://pastebin.com/3a8fx2Qi What did I do this time... -.-
Highly recommend this plugin.
I'm a plugin coder myself, and I look at this source and find it quite legit.
@XtimmyX
You have your config wrong.
You don't need multiple "Groups" groups, and you dont need multiple "User" groups. You need one "Group" group, and one "User" group. You have multiple prefixes under the "Group" group,:
ect....
and the "User" group is used for USER only prefixes so you dont have to make a group for it. Example:
Hope that helps.
Here is my cfg:
Its edited, I got rid of the "User" group list, and I edited the Template and world groups.
Simple prefix isnt exactly working with 1.3.1, so, i recommend to wait until he fixes it.
The owner title is the only title that works. Here is the config: http://pastebin.com/z1ryjYxJ
Here is my permissions config:
http://pastebin.com/eTKREcJv Can anyone help me? The owner title is the only one that works
I can't get it working, can anyone help?
@FlabalikiThank you for continuing to update this :) I just found it and I hope to get it working with factions. I am using groupmanager.
is it possible for both a prefix and a suffix from two different perm nodes to be active at once?
so if a players is a member of two groups, he gets prefix A from one and Suffix B from another?
@Flabaliki
Ok thanks :)
May i have the source code??
I'm not sure why all of a sudden things have stopped working in this plugin, specifically the compatibility with other plugins. It's probably a case of they've changed how they work. I'll have a look into Factions, PEX and ChatManager for those asking to see if I can get this to operate in a friendly way.
First the 1.2.5 Version worked with PEX... But now with 1.3.1 Not anymore.. Can you fix this you think..?
I have been trying to make this work with PEX and ChatManager but no luck so far. The prefix didn't appear. I've transfered the prefixes from PEX and moved it to Simple Prefix config file.
Yeah, it would be amazing if this could work with factions the way it used to. The only one I can find that works with factions atm is the essentials one but that requires groups, editing the config to change anything, and static prefixes only. Simple commands that this plugin has are really going to be missed if it can't work with factions.
I have a question, i"m not sure if this is a bug, or something i have to configure. But I use the factions plugin which uses a prefix itself. I can turn off the prefix for factions and use this prefix with simpleprefix. It's pretty much one or the other, in the past I've been able to use both togethor. but now I can't, any help?
Hello, I have a small problem, he said that the controls do not exist ... Can helped me? please
