Simple Player List
Main | Installation | Configuration
Description
Simple Player List is the successor to OnlinePlayers. It is a plugin which collects the currently active members on your server and sends the information to a webpage that can be viewed by the public.
It displays whether or not the server is online, the users who are currently online (if any) and the number of users online out of the total that can be online.
There are two configuration files. One for the Bukkit plugin, so that it can connect to the PHP script. The other is to configure the functionality of the actual list display.
Permissions support (which is entirely optional), to enable the creation of custom ranks. You can create as many ranks as you want, and call them whatever you like. The purpose is to add a little tag, or prefix before the user's name in the player list.
Features
- Automatically updating active player list, viewable as a webpage.
- Permissions support for custom ranks. (Optional)
- Easy to configure with simple and explained config files.
- Status of the server is displayed as offline or online.
- Run on ANY Server. The server can send the list to any website or computer that has the correct php files. This means if the physical Minecraft server is off, the scripts can still run and display that the server is offline.
- Compact display. No confusing extra crap around the page to distract from the real purpose of the list.
- The ability to display a users skin face next to their name.
- The format of the list can be altered and parts removed to get exactly what you want.
- Give your users ranks with the config.yml file and simple permission nodes.
- Simple Prefix (link) integration. If you are running Simple Prefix, users prefixes will be used as ranks.

To Do's
- Order the players in the list by their ranks.
I've integrated this onto my server's website forums. Would it be possible to link each player's name/face to their profile page? I'm running SMF if it makes any difference. ex. http://www.expo-planet.com/smf/
Has anybody figured out a way to block the pings from showing in the console window? I really loved this plugin and would like to keep using it. The only problem was the amount of pings spamming my console was ridiculous.

I personally have had no increased crashes whilst using this. Are you trying to send the data too often? You can limit the send rate to try and relieve stress. Is the php script on the same server as the Minecraft one? If it isn't this can increase the time it takes to send as well.
A little bit of background info: our map is 18 months old and is hosted on a dedicated quad cores / 8gb of ram server. We had our fair share of crashes in the early alpha/beta days but in the last 6 months or so it has gotten unbelievably stable by Minecraft standard. It would just keep running for weeks without restart with up to 50 players at peak times.
Now, one week ago i decided to try your plugin (v1.4.1). No other changes were made. No other new plugins were loaded except yours. And the server crashed about 5 times in 1 week.
It's a shame because i really liked it.
My request: Post a link to the sources so that our devs can have a look at it.
Until then we won't be using it anymore and i would strongly recommend any server owner who cares about the stability of his server to stay away from this plugin.
tried to install, but having problem with the minecraft server connecting to the receiver.php file. my web server is on the same machine using iis7.0 server 2008.
when i lanuch the minecraft server it loads that plugin but gives a error: Can not connect to: localhost ...
do i have to set up iis to give the folder permissions to use with minecraft?

Ooh, cause I rewrote Simple Prefix, so I'll have to update that part in Simple Player List.
I getting this error on startup: http://pastie.org/3831251 but isnt important, is working anyway '-'
@darksed That's a bug atm. Will be fixed in the next version. You server name can not have special characters in it. ONLY letters numbers and spaces, nothing else. To remove the error, open up config.php and remove the lines at the bottom that start with $LC.
@Megalanias Just edit the colours in the CSS on index.php
Is it possible to change the Backgroundcolor of this ? cause i would like white and not this pale brown... anywaay love your plugin ^^

@AltuniR5
Try: 4. On Linux/Unix you will need to chmod the following files / folders:
data.txt - 664 or 666 config.php - 664 or 666 images/skins/ - 775 or 777//
@MiKe9091
Do what I've mentioned to others. Open data.txt and remove one of them.

Flabakili said : Do the same as I said to snowsilk. Open data.txt and remove one of them, save and close. That should fix it.
