Simple Factions
Simple Factions
What is Simple Factions?
Simple Factions is a complete rewrite of the popular Factions plugin. With Simple Factions, you have much more control than before with every little detail of the plugin, and we even feature a 3D chunk claiming system. Also, I don't remove features at random like those guys over at massivecraft do.
You can download the latest version from github, if you want it straight from the source.
here's a link - download it by hitting "view raw". Bleeding edge updates are unapproved by bukkit, so keep that in mind. The github is currently hosting SimpleFactions v1.86 or newer.
Features
- 3D chunk claiming system with configurable claim sizes (in each direction!)
- Tons of options!
- Faction homes, protections, and money.
- Faction, Ally, Enemy, Global, Local, and even custom chat channels (for the more advanced factions, with complicated relations).
- On-the-fly loading of config and data files - no reloading required!
- A very complex (but simple to use!) access system that allows for both global permission changes and per chunk access settings.
- Warzone, safezone, and peaceful faction toggles - for example, you can have multiple warzone factions, each with their own names.
- CUSTOM LANGUAGE SUPPORT (new in v1.89 of SF) - You can create your own language packs.
Help!
- With the simple /sf help command, you can view every single command in the game. For a full list of commands and in depth descriptions, click here.
- Here is an explanation of the power and claims systems.

Permissions
There are only two permissions in Simple Factions, which are..
- simplefactions.sf - it is turned on be default.
- simplefactions.admin - For admins/OPs only; disabled by default. This allows the owners to not be controlled by block protections and disband any factions.
Configuration
Be sure to check out the config.yml file, once you load up the plugin. The plugin is extremely plug and play! If you're a basic user, Simple Factions is as simple as it gets; just drop in the jar and run your server! If you are the more advanced, tinkering type of user; Simple Factions supports editing of config and data files on the fly. This means that you will never need to reload the plugin or restart the server for changes to take effect.
The future!
Simple Factions is a work in progress. Everything posted on this page should already work - if not, please feel free to make a ticket to warn us of possible bugs.

Have a simpleFactions server online?
- You should post about it in the comments! I'd love to see the plugin in action, especially on a large scale server.
Disclaimer
SimepleFactions uses plugin metrics. You can opt out of this by changing a config setting in your plugins folder.
@keelaninhd
Right now this can be done by removing the simplefactions.sf permission in just the world you want. I'll be adding an option in the config in the future to allow you to disable the plugin in certain worlds though.
as of the v1.65 update; you can now disable /f claim and stuff in certain worlds. .
@Cotycrg
hmm, interesting. And you weren't using any other plugins at the time of testing?
I compiled the real 1.8 (not the 1.8 protocol-hack one) according to the guide(lines) of md_5's 1.8 topic, but before trying your build i'll do some more testing to see if that changes anything.
Thanks.

I'm not able to replicate this issue. The version of Spigot you are using might be corrupt or something, somehow. Or maybe you're not actually using 1.8 spigot but a version spoofed as 1.8.
I compiled the 1.8 spigot build I'm using myself; so if you would like an official copy straight from the source code, compiled by me, you can PM me and I'll send you a copy.
Hey onething how, my server is wrecked after installing this and i can't remove it?
Ok, i need to know how to limit the plugin to one world only! This is urgent please help

I've tested the new build under Spigot 1.8-R0.1, but for some reason the TPS of my server decreases every ~ 10 seconds until it comes in the danger zone (red) ~ 14 TPS :(
After removing Simple Factions, TPS stays ~ 20's

I fixed the issue in version v1.60 of the plugin. You can download it from the github right now, or wait for the bukkit approved download to appear on this page.
v1.60 of SimpleFactions is built for Bukkit / Spigot 1.8, however. It probably won't work on 1.7.9 or below.
Seems to work just fine on 1.8

It is your list of players " playerData " in World folder... It breaks this file! And " / f list " made crash the server...
After first-install i'm getting some serious error spam in the console (with no players online):
and the full error trace: http://dev.bukkit.org/paste/11028/
edit: The plugin also creates an empty "playerData\indy.json". Not sure if this is intended.
I run Spigot 1.7.10-R0.1 #1649 + Spigot Update (latest) + Carbon 1.8 (for 1.8 content) @ Java 8 Update 25 x64
Hi, love your plugin, it's a great alternative to Factions.
I have a feature request, is it possible we can get DynMap support?
Awesome alternative to Factions! Pls move the project on spigotmc.org! ;)
@sowerdb
The v1.50 build I posted was corrupted somehow; I'm sorry! The v1.55 build fixes the errors.
@Cotycrg
Hello!
The problem comes that "Scaner" this fact on the getHome ( faction)....
Just make a try { catch { InputMismatchException.....

@atomosie
Which command?
it gives me this error: An internal error occurred while attempting to perform this command
@CadeCEB
Sounds like there is some sort of I/O error (as in bukkit not having permissions to write files). What version of bukkit and what version of simplefactions are you using? If you want, I can hop on your server and try to see what's going on myself.
Hi, i have been using sf on my server, but there has been an error, when i do "/sf claim", it claims the land and deletes my last claim. currently, i can only have up to 1 claim per faction. Please help
