ServerSigns
Please check our Wiki before asking questions or submitting tickets
This project has not been abandoned completely - it's just been lacking some love & care for the past year; I plan to continue development and fix any outstanding issues in the new year. Thank you for your continued support of ServerSigns - Exloki
ServerSigns (SVS) provides the ability to bind player-dispatched and server-disptached commands, messages and actions to signs and every other block in Minecraft.
As soon as a player clicks on a ServerSign, the configured actions are executed in the order and with the settings you specified.
Source: https://github.com/serversigns/ServerSigns
Main Features:
- No limit: Unlimited commands per ServerSign
- Multi-role: Assign a variety of actions whenever a sign is clicked (even define different commands for right/left clicks)
- Messages: Send messages to the player
- Broadcasts: Send messages to the whole server
- Player commands: Executes commands as if the player typed it in chat
- Server commands: Executes commands as if it was executed from the server console
- Delayed actions: Any action can be delayed (from seconds to months)
- Looped actions: Any ServerSign can be converted to loop server commands with defined intervals
- Require permissions: ServerSigns can be set up to require permissions to use
- Grant permissions: Grants players temporary permissions to execute the commands
- Per-sign costs: Bind exp, money, and item costs to ServerSigns
- Protected: Automatically protects every ServerSign and any attached blocks.
- Basic scripting: Implement if/else and return statements in commands on ServerSigns
Please note that version 2.6 and above will notify you when a ServerSigns developer joins, this is so you're aware of who we are when we join, and we can help you with any issues you may be having with ServerSigns as quickly as possible. Version 4.1 and above will also send the developer a message stating the current plugin version.
This plugin utilizes an auto-updating feature that will check for the latest ServerSigns build and automatically download that build if it is newer than the currently installed one. This can be disabled by setting 'check_for_updates' to false in the config.yml
This plugin uses Metrics to gather basic non-identifiable statistical data such as the number of ServerSigns you are using, your plugin version, and other standard mcstats.org data. You can opt-out of this feature by setting 'metrics_opt_out' to true in the config.yml. A full list of gathered information can be found here: http://mcstats.org/plugin/ServerSigns

Reporting Bugs / Requesting Features
When reporting bugs, requesting features, or providing any other constructive feedback that will require code alterations you must submit a ticket to have your voice heard and action taken (if required). Any topics of this nature that arise in the comments section will henceforth be ignored.
Before you raise a ticket, you need to make sure that the feature you are requesting isn't already implemented (read all of the help pages which show SVS features), or the bug you want fixed hasn't already been resolved in the latest development build (a rolling change log is kept on the development build page, use this for reference)
When submitting a ticket, please be as descriptive and informative as possible. If reporting a bug or flaw, then show all the steps required to reproduce the problem, also attach any and all related screenshots or other files to the ticket. If requesting a new feature, then please be as detailed as possible so we have a very clear idea of what it is you're suggesting - that way if we do implement your suggestion, this ensures it is exactly as you want it to be.
Once you have submitted a ticket, rest assured that it will be handled. We do not give a definite time frame for replies or actual alterations, but we try our absolute best to get tickets resolved as soon as possible. Please do not: bump tickets, raise multiple tickets for the same issue, send PMs to our developers, or discuss the ticket in the comments section. Tickets that do not meet the expectations outlined here will likely be declined without comment.
@Brustus
uhm? This error isn't fixed yet? This will be fixed in 1.5, too^^
But at the moment I don't have the time to add new features, sorry...
When I try to paste a second command onto a sign, the console gives an error. http://dev.bukkit.org/paste/4270/
On CB 1487
Never mind, it was that same error I had before with the string being too short, I just put "spawn testtest", and essentials ignores the testtest and it worked.
@CalibeR50
Thanks alot
@roelmb
new Version is out with 1.0 support.
I hope everything turns out alright, good luck!
@CalibeR50
Sorry to hear that happened hope you will be able to restore it.
Make an online repo :)
That helps alot xD
I have a little problem with my HDD, maybe it could take a short time to fix it... I hope I can fix it... If not, I have to rewrite the plugin. I don't think I can release Version 1.5 today, sorry :(
edit: Ok, I have a backup of the soruce, but I want to fix my HDD first, I don't want to lose 2000GB data >.<
@CalibeR50
Tnx a lot.
Fast support :D
I'll be watching this for release of 1.5 :)
@roelmb
I am going to update the plugin today to version 1.5 with the requested features and 1.0 support. I don't know how long exactly it takes.
I'm waiting for an update to the latest dev build from bukkit. it seems your plugin breaks with latest build. So I can't make my 1.0.0 server public yet :( But still I love this plugin. Its awsome. And it can be used for lots of stuff.
@CalibeR50
That would be awesome
@Adfest
I think the only way is to give the player the permission for a very short time with the sign. So my plugin would give the permission, execute the command and instantly remove the permission. In the next Version I am going to add this.
Something like what nebenezer said would be very useful. Some commands just don't work with <server>, and most other commands I'd like to use this plugin for are high level permissions and produce a "you don't have permissions for that". Perhaps a way to have the command be done through a certain player with permissions... I don't know...
Example: Been trying to make it so players can use serversigns to join a town with Towny without needing an invite. Towny commands don't work in the console, so <server> or [scommand] doesn't work. And if you don't have townyadmin permissions you get the "no permissions" message.
@latexink
??? You just remove commands with /server signs remove or by destroying the sign. By simply hitting the sign my plugin isn't called and nothing happens.
You could connect on my teamspeak 188.40.112.58 and search for CalibeR.50. I could connect on your server and check this bug.
Left-click (punching) a sign removes all commands on it regardless of permissions... I have a sign to do '/ma join' for MobArena that this is really bad for.. but any sign will be reset on punching, regardless of my permissions... maybe a lock command, or just remove the punch-to-reset?
CalibeR50,
I kinda wondered if you could think of implementing a feature to let a command be execute with x delay. I know this problable won't add to much to the normal version of the plugin but it will for the version you created for me and the ideas I have with it.
I know this might be asking a bit to much seeing it would become a sort of a rewrite of some parts of it. But would it be possible to make it configurable on what block it works. I know this will also require to put in the config if it should work on redstone charges or you will have button issues with performing a request twice.
greetings Genji
@nebenezer
hmm, maybe it is possible to give the player pressing the sign the permission for the command for a short time. This could be a new feature of version 1.5. Thanks for the idea
@CalibeR50,
Interesting.. So you are able to let low level groups execute commands that they don't have the permission node for?
Maybe I got the commands wrong :/
I tried:
"/serversigns add <server> weather clear"
"/serversigns add <server> /weather clear"
"/serversigns add /weather clear"
The last of those 3 renders a useable sign, but only by those who already have commandbook.weather The first two commands produce no results when added to a sign.
I also tried using the [scommand] option with the command on the sign, no luck there either.
Is this enough info to tell where I'm going wrong ? :/
ps. I am using ModifyWorld, but I was sure to assign the serversigns.use node to the group I was testing.
....
I am going to programm PEX support. Just wait for the next version, the only change will be the new PEX support. Or does someone need another feature?
edit:
just download the new Version of PEX and it is working... -.-
