Hello everybody,
This is Tobias aka Phoenix, the developer of this project. I am sad to inform you that RegionForSale, just like the Bukkit project, is pretty much dead nowadays. I do not like the fact that Minecraft is owned by Microsoft and, even though I respect the company, I cannot see how the spirit of Minecraft fits in there at all. Shame on you for selling, Notch! I do not care about the money involved. But this game, no matter how much profit it generates, belongs into the hands of loving, independent developers (Just like Bukkit – love you guys). My opinion. To be fair: My interest shifted in general as well. So overall, I am not willing to work on this project for free anymore.
Q: What about security updates / bugfixes?
A: I will do my best to still fix those and upload a new version for you. I do not want to let you down.
Q: Will you continue if I donate xx dollar?
A: Probably not. Please try to estimate the time I spend and apply a horrific minimal wage – I am sure you still do not want to pay that. Yes, it’s quite some time.
I still want to thank you very much for the few donations I received up to this point. Developing was fun and I was so very euphoric when I received my first donation. I still remember quite well. Not to forget about the many supportive comments and “thank you”s I received despite the money.
Sincerely,
Phoenix_IV

Updating
RegionForSale provides an automatic update checker to let you get informed as soon as a new version is available. If you do not want to use this feature you can set check_for_updates to false in the general.yml config file.
Todo
- Quick-set options on signs
- Give users, who rented a region, the possibility to buy it (without unrenting + possible rebuilding). The other way round would be retarded - Tell me if you don't think so.
- Auto-updater for minor updates (?)

- Your request can't be simply overlooked or forgotten
@ItsMeBrad
That's fairly easy: Place the sign outside the region (at the border). If you do it this way you have another benefit; the user can really build in the whole region. Otherwise he wouldn't be able to build where the sign is and where it is attached to. Rebuilding doesn't check for signs (and will presumable not in the future).
"and whatever block is placed in that area acts like a sign"
I didn't get that.
How do we set it so that the Signs don't get blown away when the region rebuilds?
Every time we sell the region back, it rebuilds like it's supposed to, but it turns the sign into an air block, and whatever block is placed in that area acts like a sign.
I've seen some servers have their signs stay after a rebuild, but I can't figure it out at all.
@Shadenhand
To concrete Adrenalineq's statement:
You will find it as "permissions.max-regions-per-player" (config.yml + sub-configs)
@Shadenhand
lól, this is already in the config :|
any chance we could put the time limit for the rentals in the config.yml?
@Adrenalineq
Could you please check the block at (-207, 69, 160) and see if it really changed?If yes I think I know what I've done wrong there.
Confirmed and solved :)
@Phoenix_IV
Okay, so i have this region; New Pork City, inside the city i have just defined alot of smaller plots called p1, p2, p3, p4 and so forth... I'm not quite sure if theyre subregions tough, cause when i click them with a string, it just says p1 or p2. It do not give you the name of the New Pork City region aswell, i haven't tried to type rg listall, i'll try that later though. And yes to the last question, either it puts the big region for sale or when i put it as the parent region with: rg addparent <regionName>
JungleJoe
@hovedhakker
I'll give you some statements which I'd like you to confirm:
//rg listall
But could i prior down the regions through the WG confiq? So that they would all be child regions?
Shit i got like 100 regions inside one bigger... That would take a shitload of time :S Edit: Also i did check with the string, and i have checked the confiq (for both plugins)
@hovedhakker
1st Check if there are really regions at this place (use the spider string to let WorldGuard list them).
If yes, you may have added ALL regions as parent regions which we obviously don't want. If so type
//rg select <wg-region-name>
and then//rg remove
.Now re-add the region. The steps are described on the page above.
It says: no region found at this place
@michaelhampton
As planned like now I hope it's available in at least one week. There is still a little bit to do and it has to be tested before the official release.
@hovedhakker
You're talking about "More than one possible region found"?
Solution: Tag the outer/bigger region as parent region:
//rg addparent <regionName>
.Hi, so i got an region inside another region, i just want the one inside the bigger one sold, but it says that (when i select the region after creating the sign) it either says that i don't see any region or that there's a region conflict. Is there a way to fix this?
Sinceraly an level 99 noob...
when might the new update be able to be downloaded? i have simpleregionmarket right now and it.... well lets just say its not working out right.. but i cant use this one until the renting ability is ready...
@Phoenix_IV
:D
@Adrenalineq
The current version of RFS should work fine with this (as well as the dev-version).
Gnrrr. I want to get the next version out :/ ;)
@Phoenix_IV
Recommenden build OUT:
@Phoenix_IV
Okay, no problem was just an idea The rich man tax was just a random idea, however the inactive period is what i wrote that whole text for from the beginning.
And yes we are looking into taxes, we wanted to avoid it though but it seems like we can't =(
